Ohhh my gosh, the last few days have just been bloody fantastic

Meeting everyone has been the most fun and everyone is just as I pictured they would be on the boards but so much more fun in person. The weather here is scorchingly hot and plenty of drinking has been done with lots more still to come.

Marty would be proud of all of us, such a pity he couldn't drop down under for the get together.

I was soooo excited to jump back online and see Marty has answered my question, I am certainly doin' the happy dance

Now I just gotta pick which name to use, I am so glad he loved my question

Off to bed early tonight as I need to catch up on a little sleep time. It was very sad saying good bye to everyone as they went their seperate ways back home, I was holding back the tears it is amazing that I only met them this weekend for the first time but it felt like I have known them forever and we have been best mates always, Marty certainly brings out the best in everyone and even tho we are all so different but yet alike as well Does that make sense ? I know what I mean, I think maybe the sun has gotten to me.

I know exactly what you mean about saying good-bye to the people you have just met yet feel so very very close to in your heart. It is amazing the bond we feel with each other. Marty truly is the tie that binds.

Hey there everyone,

Den and I said good-bye to Peeksy and Ing a few hours ago. It was sad of course but it's also the beginning of a beautiful friendship and many other meet-ups.

It was wonderful meeting everyone and like what Helen said, we all got along well despite being very different. We've been chatting and posting so much here that even though I only met them for the first time, I feel as if I've known them forever. Peeks and Ing made me laugh even more in person (not sure whether that was possible, but it is!). Den is just the sweetest and most sporting person I've ever known. Helen and her friend Marie were so supportive, joining us for the winery tour and Healesville even though they've been there before. Jet was thoughtful, keeping me in the loop even though I missed the wild party in Peeks and Ing's room. Sozl was our Melbourne guide and took us to have dinner at a fantastic restaurant along Southbank. Did I miss anyone? Hope not...

Sorry C that I haven't got a chance to post any pics yet but I'm sure you were all entertained by the piccies posted so far. It was mainly Denise and Jet who took piccies since my camera battery went out on the first day.

Will post more when I have the chance. A big hello to Natasha, Lise, Chk, Trees, Mia and all others. Have a great one!

Gotta a bit of bad news. Helen is back in the hospital. Looks as if it may be another minnie stroke. Still waiting on tests. Mick will keep me posted. He said that the last time this happened, she was better within 24 -48 hrs so we are hoping she will be back to her wonderful Aussie self soon. I am flying out to Sydney with Gael and husband Terrance tomorrow. Gael, Terrance and I plan to meet up with Sozl on the night of our concert at the Opera House. I hope by the time we get back to Melbourne on Friday she will be out of the hospital.

Ing, Dani, Jo, Sozl, Lizzie and Katie. Miss you gals so much already. Do you think our next AST convention will be in Chicago? Aussgals and Chitown gals. ....hmmmm....a bit scarey if you ask me. ;D

Lizzie, I will try to get in touch with you on Friday when I get back from Sydney. Hope to be able to share some snags on the barbie with you while I'm here.

Ara, I've been wearing the Lucky in Wealth bracelet you sent me from the Philippines for my birthday and I've got to say, I may not be very lucky with $$$$, but very wealthy in friendships. It is definitely working.

Lise, Vulcanet, Deb, Mia, chk, Trees, Natasha, Polari, ara and all our other fellow ASTers... we vowed to make it an annual event so hopefully we will get together again "sooner than later".

Den has received a text message from Helen saying she's better now and that she should be out of the hospital on Thursday. So looks like Helen is going to be ok.

Den and I leave for Sydney tomorrow. Gosh we have to catch a cab by 7.30am. Am still thinking how I'm gonna pack all that shopping, macademia nuts, nougat and chocos in my suitcase. Ah well, I just might have to eat my way through them

C, I'll be back home in Singapore by the time Robbie Williams rolls in to Oz So Den will just have to blubber on my behalf!

What a weekend. I have barely recovered. Who knew pint-sized Ingt would vie for last gal standing with hard-drinking Westie chick Jet?!!! And that Peeks would be even more outrageous in person, yet so totally sensible and down-to-earth? And that Den, who amazingly was not drunk at the time, could do such a great Marty impersonation!

This is what Marty had to say (in reply to my PM) about our wild night in Ingt and Peek's hotel room:

Having the chance to hear people's stories, and finding out how much we had in common at a much deeper level too, not just our joint passion and all the craziness we share in here... That was really powerful for me.
