Hey everyone! Lizzie, so great to "see" you on the org. Was going to send you an e-mail but since you're going to post more regularly, I'll go ahead and say hi here It was sooo good to finally meet you and Katie. Yeah, what a shame that we hardly had time to chat more. Terence and I were really out of it that day after the 8 hour plane ride, Healesville and many glasses of wine... but that only means there has to be a part 2 eh? Palari, it was surreal to speak with you over the phone. Sorry I handed you over so soon....like I said, I was pretty out of it that day... Den, Terence and I got back from Sydney earlier this evening. We had such a great time in Sydney. There was the Sydney fish market, Darling Harbour, Sydney Aquarium, tea at Queen Victoria Building, the Rocks and Lyndt Cafe (ever tasted Lyndt Mocha and Lyndt choco eclairs? We were truly in a dream come true! Hey please please ask Den about the chards bottle at Alto Hotel's A-Lounge...too, too funny! Tomorrow's my last day in Oz before heading back to Singapore Only like a few more shopping hours boo hoo! It is wonderful to meet everyone and to find that we all get along despite being so different and varied. Helen, I hope you are doing better. Hope you manage to go to the Robbie Williams concert. Den, I'm so going to miss our time together. Have a great time the rest of your trip. See ya for brekky tomorrow. Am feeling so very sleepy from the chards...guess I'll say good night now. Have a great weekend people. Love you all!!! xoxoxoxo

Crikey, I can't believe my time in OZ is almost over. Got back from Sydney yesterday. Had a fantastic time with Gael and Terrance. Sydney was such a beautiful city. Thanks Terrance for helping me with my pics. Loved meeting Gael's sister Dawn and friend William. Lunch at Sydney's Fish Market and then dinner in Chinatown was fantastic. I can barely fit into my jeans now. I'll post some more pics when I can later. Mick and I visited Helen today at the hospital. She won't be coming home until at least Monday now. They are still regulating her meds and don't want her up and about yet..... although I did think about kidnapping her just for the Robbie Williams concert. Helen didn't want me to take her pic so instead here's what they are feeding her at the hospital.... .....some sort of tuna in a square with...uh... I think they were ping pong balls or perhaps....not sure.... they sort of bounce when you throw them....not that Helen and I would even think of it...but IF one did give them a toss, I'm sure they would bounce...nothing like good ol' hospital food to get you in the mood to get ya better. Lizzie, sorry I didn't get to see you today. I will definitely be coming back here and we will have that snag on the barbie for sure. I told Helen that you sent her your love. I'll be going back to the hospital with Mick and Helen's Mom later today. Hey Aussgals, remember the two wombats we picked up along the road on our way to the winery. Whatever happened to those two blokes? ....Hope they got home ok. Well, gotta go check out Myspace and my emails. Tomorrow we will be checking out the markets and then Robbie Williams concert with Mick. It won't be the same without Helen for Mick and me. At least Helen there is still Snow Patrol in Feb. Love you all, xxoo Den

WOW, What great pix and stories. So glad everyone has dropped by to share reports. Den, that pic of the ping pong balls is hysterical. Fly safely going home!!! Helen, hope you're feeling better. Don't rush it, babe! Think of this as more time to play on the site. Hey, did u hear that Stil and Marty were talking about you at the Toronto show? G, so glad you had a great time in Oz. Do you really have a sister named Dawn? Cause that's my sister's name. It makes it easier for Den to meet all our family members if they all share the same name! ;D Hope you all are well and safe from those horrible fires --especially our mates in Perth! Stay safe and try to keep cool! I know it's not going to be a white Christmas where you are, but here's a thought: Merry Merry Christmas! xoxo c

What beautiful and wonderful pictures of you aussie gals. Just wanted to let you know that I have decided not to be Street Team Leader for the Phils anymore because I won't have the time. This coming new year, I'm preparing for a possible big move to another country. I'll let you know when exactly once I get my employment papers and visa ready. Wish me luck. I need this to work.
I love you all. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

G'day mates, Today Helen got her IV out and so she is finally home. Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehaaaaaaaaaaaaaaw!!! Of course we had to do a little Aussie Street Teaming before we left the hospital. It turns out that the hospital that Helen was at is in the shire of Casey so guess the name of the hospital.... yes, the hospital REALLY was named Casey Hospital. Another Aussie cowinky-dinky when we were following a van through Berrick, Au.... One more quick pic from last night's Robbie Williams concert. There were 64,000 people in Telstradome stadium. It was incredible. Missed Helen dearly last night. Mick made sure though that she got to hear from her hospital bed almost the entire concert with a massive cellcert. I got plenty of pics and a bit of video clips for her check out after I leave. Even some of the staff and patients at the hospital got to hear the Robbie Williams cellcert. I can't wait to come back to Australia during footy season and see St. Kilda play there....perhaps Eagles vs. Saints..wouldn't that be a craaaaaaaaaazy night. Mick and Helen's mom Val were great "trying" to fill me in on the rules for Cricket this week. .... ....not sure I quite got what they were saying..... .... except I was happy to see that Australia won the The Ashes tournament..... ...(sorry Dawn...better luck next time)..... Hey Mia, catch up with you when I get back. Sounds as if we have lots of catching up to do when I get back. Chk, my BFF....how cool is that ...Marty mentioned Helen at the concert.....awesome news first day back from the hospital. Well, got to go pack now for my trip back to the states. Helen and I are going to stay in St. Kilda tonight at Micks and then they will take me to the airport in the morning. I've got a few more pics I want to take and then I'll be getting on the plane. The two weeks just flew by. I want to thank all my fellow ASTers that made my stay in Australia so amazing and one that I will never forget. I especially want to thank Mick, Helen and her family and Gael and Terrance for taking such good care of me. My boss told me that Australia was "very special" and she was soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo fricken' right. Love all of yuz Den

The cricket...woohoo GILLY...second fastest century in test cricket history...OMG it was such a pleasure to watch...I'm amazed at you Den...you caught on to AFL faster than I ever did and you LIKED Vegemite first try, I thought you would have caught on to the cricket lingo real quick (I've been watching since I was a kid and I still LMAO at some of the terms they use). Helen... I'm so glad you got to enjoy Robbie Williams....even by cellcert I bet he was awesome! I heard Marty and Stilleto were chatting about you the other night...were your ears burning matey? OK All you hammajammajimmyjummy partiers...get ready cause HJII - The DVD or Scary Movie 5, which ever way you want to think of it, is ready to hit your mail boxes! Missin' ya mates. When I was on the plane I was reading my little keepsake book Sozl had made each of us and read some of the sweet things some of you had written to me in it. At the same time I was listening on my Ipod to the song Palari had sent me, Dave Dobbins Beside You and I got all *sniff**sniff*. That song always tugs on my heartstrings and reminds me of all of you. Got home safely....except they lost one of my suitcases..... ..... ..the one with the wine from our Yarra Valley Winery Tour ..... No worries about the clothes since they are summer clothes and won't be needing them for awhile now that I'm back home . Gotta get some shut eye now. Will catch up with all of you later. I'll get more pics posted after I have a chance to rest up. Camera and memory cards were in my purse and not in my suitcase. Jet, I learned lots about cricket. Kinda makes your head spin though with the logic of the game. No wonder people get "pissed" , throw beach balls around and do the Aussie wave at the games...after all, you've got 4 or 5 days before the match is over. Hey dawn, do you watch cricket over there in the UK? BTW Amy, I love all the new emoticons. Den

Hi dlh
Yeah, we have cricket here, it's a pretty big deal, just not in my house ;D ;D I expected lots of mickey taking to come my way what with the ashes just finishing & stuff.
I find it cool reading this thread as I was told you guys used a lot of "slang", as it is, it seems to be the same phrases as we use! ;D I've managed to confuse a few people on here - I didn't expect a language barrier.
Anyway, have fun & no doubt I'll pop in again later. ;D
Take care,
Dawn

Hey everyone! Dear sweet BFF Den, so glad you're home safe. Your return marks the end of the great Ozgals get-together (HJII as we call it). It's bittersweet, bitter cos it's ended but sweet cos of all the memories. Terence and I finally got our act together and here are some of the piccies we took: This is the four of us at Angelucci's along Chapel Street for lunch. Here's Me, Terence and Den at the Sydney Fish Market. Here we are again at Darling Harbour. More coming up.... C, yeah my sister's name is Dawn. Well, if you have a friend called William then Den would really have it easy peasy Jet, I can't wait to see the vid...now that would be some entertainment Helen, so glad you're out of the hospital, no more ping pong ball food Rest easy mate! Ing and peeks, we definitely need more time to yak in person. We need some dates...ya know what I mean? Sozl, I was going through the scrapbook and it's really bloody awesome! The level of detail...why I can't even remember some of the things I said and yet there it is, captured for posterity...You must have trawled through the boards to come up with all those gems. I take my hat off to you Hi Dawn and welcome to the thread of slang with snags on the barbie in the arvo and what not... A big hello to Mia, Natasha, Trees, Lise and all who I've missed. Love you all

More photos.... Me with the Sydney Opera House in the background...taken just before Sozl, Den, Terence and me sat at the bar for a quick pre-concert chink chink. Inside the Sydney Opera House during intermission of Handel's Messiah. Den savoring a choco eclair at the Lindt cafe in Sydney...oopsie, think Den might not like me posting that Terence slurping the Lindt hot chocolate...thank goodness there's no pictorial evidence of me chomping on my choco eclair!

What great pix, G! I don't have a friend named William, but it is both my father's and brother's name! I guess there are only just so many names out there-- we're all repeating! Glad you guys all made it home safe for the hols! What a great idea to see/hear Handel's Messiah at SOH. And the chocolate looks pretty darned tasty, too! Peeks, Ing, Helen, Sozl, Bronte, all our Ausmates, hope the fires aren't affecting any of you. I have friends here whose parents have been forced out of their home in Perth. My thoughts are with you all. And Helen, hope you're feeling well, babe. I cracked up when I saw those pix u and den took of the hospital and Trees truck! ;D So, Den, did you pick up a few boomerangs and other fun Aussie stuff for Christmas pressies? Hope your luggage has been found -- and so glad you haven't been flying thru Denver today! Am off to Japan Saturday morning --nothing says Christmas like a bowl of hot noodles, right? Since I won't be around on the big day, Have a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year -- thanks so much for another brilliant year in the mc.org austhread!

Crikey, what time is it? I've got my days and nights all mixed up. It's almost 5am and I haven't gone to bed yet. Good thing I still have a few days before I have to go back to work and adjust to the time changes. Hey Lise, have a great time on your holiday. Hope Andrew can feel a bit better away from home and enjoy your sunshine there. It is raining here...cold, not cold enough though for a White Christmas. Chk, have some Christmas noodles for me. As you can tell from Gaels photos, I enjoyed my stay in OZ in more ways than one and gained 5 more pounds.... ...better start getting back in shape after the holidays. I've posted more pics at my Myspace page of my wonderful adventure to OZ. Can't wait to go back. I miss my cupper and having to decide what I want on my toast...jam or Vegemite. I was pleasantly surprised when I had my first go at Vegemite....that's spread reeeeeeeeeeally thin. I got my suitcase back from the airline this afternoon. There was a notice inside that said Custom Inspectors had opened it to do a random check so with only a 3 hour layover in LA, it explains why it was late getting to Indy...the poor inspectors had to try to cram all my crappola back inside and zip it up which I'm sure took more than 3 hours with that much crrrrr...uh...I mean..uh...Aussie memorabilia. I'm speaking Ingisms again.... Here are a few more pics before I go. Here's one more sort of Aussie Cowinky-dinky... When Ing, Dani and I were at Elm Street Bar in Chicago, Melanie (aka 7of7) wore one pant leg of her jeans rolled up...sort of a tradition for her at Elm St. So when we were all shopping on Chapel St. in Melbourne we were surprised to see the same thing in the store window display. Small world hey? Oh, have to post the pic of The Ashes Cup cricket trophy from the Herald Sun. It reminded me so much of my Little Jimmy picture from the HammaJammaJimmy Party. Although I've got to say, he looks in a little bit better shape than I do in that pic. ;D While we were waiting for Helen to be dismissed from the hospital, Mick took me up to the Dandenong Ranges and we came across a Wombat crossing sign....too cute. Beautiful... One last pic with Helen on Rosebud beach Have a very Merry Christmas mates. (2005 Christmas pic with grandsons Mason and Jack) Den

Woohooo!!!! Awesome news!!!! Prayers and fingers crossed for some relief from the bushfires. Rain and maybe even snow predicted for Christmas in parts of Victoria and elsewhere in Australia. Article from the Herald Sun in Melbourne: www.news.com.au/heraldsun/story/0,21985,20964274-661,00.html Here are a couple of pics from smoke from the bushfires we encountered during our get together (HJII). There is a haze and smells of a burning campfire in the air. Morning 9Dec : Smoke fills the air in downtown Melbourne Smokey haze at the Yappa Valley wineries More pics from the Herald Sun:http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/galleries/0,22008,5006020,00.html Be safe Aussgals and guys Den

I thought I'd give him a chance. He sent a demo tape. Here's the link below. He's a pretty good dancer....just, that outfit has got to go.
