This must be something different than the Dec 6th release as it looks like it only has songs on dvd.

No way!?! Mark Burnett's sneaky. I'm sure he knows that there are many people so desperate for some more RSINXS so we'll buy anything. Fortunately, I didn't jump the gun and pre-order it; I'm in Canada and buying from the Sony store isn't the way to go. Thanks for taking the time to read the description.

Okay, it's now officially official. The DVD can be pre-ordered from Amazon. The list of songs is out. Not every thing is on the DVD, but Marty got 4 songs (Mr. Brightside, BHMOMT, Creep, and WYWH). Jordis, Suzie and JD got three (plus Pretty Vegas); Ty and MiG got two. Then there are four other INXS tracks at the end ... not sure who will be doing the singing, but it's old stuff. Here are the details: www.tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=4370I thikn the song choices are interesting. I would have preferred Lithium or I Alone to BHMOMT but this is better than nothing. Maybe there is a rights issue?

Well I must admit that I am disappointed. I was hoping for a DVD of the entire show, not just select performances. I didn't start watching until the week Marty sang "I Alone" and was hoping to see what came before. I wonder if a complete series DVD will be released later on or if this is all there will be?

Like with the CD, they really dropped the ball on this one. I would have liked to see more of the earlier performances included...I could have done without the 5 INXS extras, if they needed more room. I already have most of the later stuff taped. I don’t think I even want to buy the DVD, if it doesn't include everything.

I'm disappointed in the song choices, too. I also didn't start watching until "I Alone" (week 7) and got instantly hooked on Marty just because of that performance.
It's clearly designed primarily to promote INXS, and to draw in the fans of the last few performers.
But since it's under $11 at Amazon, I'm going to buy it anyway.

Yeah, I too am rather disappointed. When I saw what was posted at Rockstar.MSN.com I took it to mean the entire series on DVD, but on close examination here is what it says, "Rock Star:INXS DVD Performances, commentary, behind-the-scenes and more coming soon to stores everywhere." So I guess this half-assed set fits that bill too. I will buy it for sure though as www.inxs.com/index.php?section=news&id=552 says it will have such things as "Additional extras on the DVD include contestants audition tapes, an introduction to the DVD from JD, and outtakes from the show." And that alone is well worth the price!

All the rocker's auditions, eliminations and performances, and longer portions of the Q's & A's, the critiques, at the mansion...ect. A lot more than what was shown/edit for TV. I'll get the DVD anyhow. I guess a little half-ass is better than no ass at all. Now, I gotta go back here some and knock out that dancing Santa that I'd posted. ;D

It just makes me so much more grateful for mc.org and the video clips of the earlier performances (especially for those of us who found RSINXS late in the game)... Thanks Cindy, Amy and the gang for making it such a great site.

I watched from the second week, but I didn't start watching the mansion behind the scenes shows until midway through (weren't those orig. on CBS?). I wouldn't be surprised if the Mark Burnett machine releases it all in parts, or something. Just a way to get more bucks from the fans. Those of you recorded all are lucky. I only have one show and the finale on a scratchy VCR tape.

yep, very disappointed here too, was really wanting the whole of the series in a box type set so as not to miss a MARTY minute plus extra stuff like behind the scenes and out takes etc. I will still buy it as it does have some great songs on it but I would've loved more. Helen

I am sooooo stoked about the DVD. And love to see some of the others too, like Jordis, Deanna and Mig. I just ordered three, one for my studio, one for my car and one for home. What a fantastic November !!!!! I am not disappointed as I know Marty will be making his own DVD,s soon. Also if they put the whole Rock Star on a DVD it would probably be very expensive and about 4 discs!!!
Be happy people. I AM jumping for joy~!!! Yeay

I read the review on Amazon and it sounded kinda well, lame. I know from what I read I personally won't be happy with it. It's not the whole series on DVD like I had hoped.

The RS DVD is getting bad reviews on Amazon. I saw that and thought it pretty silly. It's being reviewed and people haven't even seen it! Just because it isn't what I want (i.e. a full season of episodes) doesn't mean the current DVD is "bad." Why give it a bad review?? It has Marty in it....embrace it!!
