Ok so Cheryl would be one to check. Was she at the Sept 11 taping....when Creep and Trees acoustic were done? If so maybe someone can go to rockband.com and find her comments.

Hi Amy! I just registered to respond – since you’re right I was at that taping. Unfortunately I wasn’t paying much attention to the reaction of the members of INXS. I was sort of focused on Marty. By that point in the show I knew JD was the right choice for INXS, so I wasn’t hanging on every word the guys said about Marty. I felt that if he got the most votes, the most applause, the most encores, etc., it might be such a boost to his career he could walk away not caring that he didn’t get the gig. I’m still hoping that’s the case! But back to your question, one of the BINXS and I do think it was Kirk, said that the lyrics had it wrong, “You do belong here!” And it was said very emphatically. They never showed all the comments on the show, but each of the guys would comment on every song and there was only praise for Marty that night. And here’s further info from LAXguy – “I know it’ll drive the Kool-Aid Drinkers crazy, but there was no Standing O, even though OB did praise Marty to the rafters.” LAXguy is referring to INXS when he says no standing ovation, since obviously the crowd was already standing! Marty was definitely the crowd favorite that night – and at the next elimination show – and at the finale. Thank you Cheryl for stopping by and filling us in. It is most appreciated. Glad to hear all the glowing comments about Marty.
And welcome. I don't think I have ever had the pleasure to cyber-meet you before.

I don't think I have ever had the pleasure to cyber-meet you before. Nice to meet you too! You and Amy should really come post on ROCKBAND.COM occasionally - we still get a lot of traffic looking for info on Marty, and if you posted and included links back to MartyCasey.org, it might funnel some of it over here. The TeamMig girls have just started to figure out how helpful that can be!

That sounds like a good idea Cheryl. I will make an effort to start posting our news and events there too.
I really like your RS:I episode discussions going on....and we plan on doing the "Marty-version" over here starting the week after Thanksgiving.

Just one more rather silly clarification - Amy mentions I went to two shows, and that's not quite accurate. I actually went to several concert shows at the start of the season and the first elimination show, and then the last three shows. It was easier to get away for the concert shows since they were on Sundays!

Thanks Cheryl. I am one of the few Marty girls who still post at Rockband...trying to keep "Marty" alive over there. I have jumped in the JD threads a couple of times and everyone has been very friendly. There have been some Marty bashing, but after his last interview where he gave big props to JD, the posters have mellowed somewhat. I think overall (with the exception of one of two) JD fans are looking forward to seeing the Lovehammers perform on the tour. I am sure Cheryl will back me up on this.

I am sure Cheryl will back me up on this. I absolutely agree! Poor MiG is the main target of the snark right now, because he keeps getting quoted saying slightly negative things about JD. I'm sure he says a hundred nice things for every slightly negative thing, but the reporters interviewing him jump on the negative. Luckily Marty appears to be a little more media-savvy!

I think it's only natural that Mig would say slightly negative things about JD. Mig is such a nice guy. He seems so sweet and moralistic -- kind of the opposite of the impression JD gives. He appears to have set high ethical standards for himself and seems genuinely disappointed when other people aren't the same way. Mig probably also gets a lot of coverage when he says something negative just because it happens so rarely. People tend to want to knock nice people down to their level.

Just curious--I know that there was a lot of drama and Marty bashing on the MSN board when Marty said he and Jordis contributed to writing Pretty Vegas. Now that their names appear on the credits and it is documented to be true, what is the feeling about it with J D fans?
