Ok...it's a Sunday afternoon. I should be folding laundry and cleaning the house and all that usual weekend junk....but I am lazy right now. And I feel like being a bum and doing nothing productive at all.. So maybe that explains this totally vacuous post I am about to make. Thinking about Marty on Rock Star. He always looked really cool while some of the others looked odd or overdone. Which is your favorite outfit that Marty wore on performance nights (this can be the audition nights or the elimination nights) I gotta say I just loved the outfit he had on the night he did Everlong and Trees. Really cool look. It was this one for those who didn't remember. So what did you like best.... and post pictures or links to pictures, if you can? Modified post to point out one of the subtle nuances of this outfit.... who noticed the stratetically sliced places on the shirt held together with safety pins... that is the one part that makes me scratch my head... but he is still adorable in it.

Cindy! Stop! That picture just make my heart get off track and miss a few beats. LOL That part at the bottom of the pic were his bare skin is showing is just too much for this old body! LOL And I must confess that I don't often react to pics b/c that are just that, pic...and not the real thing. Oh my, that is just delish!!!!
But thanks for posting it.

Wow...what an excellent question! I love Marty's style (gotta admit that he and Jordis are sorta style icons for this college student still tryin' to find her "look"). Well...I enjoy most, if not all, of Marty's outfits but here's a few of my faves! This one's my absolute favorite...all black, leather jacket, slightly see through T-shirt (sexy w/out being creepy/girly/etc), it's just so smooth. Second fave...the black and red combo is killer (and something I've always enjoyed wearing myself), love his All Star shoes (should be gettin' a pair myself this Fri), and his smooth-backed hair gives him a slightly more serious touch that matches the slightly more formal outfit. And third fave... Love the striped suit (v. Tim Burton in a good way), the sneakers bring a cool casualness to the outfit, and the tie both breaks up the stripes so they aren't overwhelming as well as adds just the right amount of color to the outfit. ---Okay, that's it from me!

I noticed it - do I get extra points! I guess it was my love for old-school punk - safety pins, deconstruction, etc.
I have to do more research, but I remember at the time I was absolutely in love with his 1/2 pink, 1/2 black shirt that he wore when he smashed his guitar before he did the Trees encore. I would've done almost anything to have a version of that shirt. I adored it.
(I'll try to get a piccie up)

That last picture the shirt is freaking killer. I wish I knew where to get one like it, I also like those pants he has one, the converse are a nice effect. I love that pic, you can see a crowd member doing this \m/ with his hand right back to Mr. Casey!!
Oh and my work is like "What has got into you Scott"
I am always coming in with something new. I am dressing sharper for some reason after becoming literally OBSESSED with RS INXS! LOL

Yeah, I love the pink/peach and black shirt, too, along with the suspenders hanging down (they're not visible in this picture, but you can see them in the "Trees" encore video). Very cool look.
Marty has a great sense of style. Everything works, right down to the double bracelets.
And, Rockbeast, is that how you look now? Short hair and new shirt? Excellent, dude!

Very cool look. ok ok So here is a photo where you can see this as you described But now this shirt isn't one of my favs on him. I think it isn't the best choice for his skin tone and hair color.

Cindy - Thanks so much for posting those pics! I went to find some at the RS.msn site, but kept clicking on links and going in circles - LOL! Trying to gather everything before they close it down.
Yeah - if you notice in my post everything is in the past tense. I would still love to have that shirt, but for whatever reason it doesn't do it for me like before.
Tookskye - Fantastic posts! The "Take Me Out" outfit is an honorable mention for me because that's when he really stood out from the pack.

Here is another lovely shot of the somewhat see-through shirt. Note the curve of his back--back-lit by the stage lights. Not only is this a perfect martyesque pose but it also has a great view of the tat he got behind his ear. This is my favorite shirt--I could go on and on about the symbolism of the eagle but really I just like the way the shirt/wings accentuate his chest and shoulders. To show how much this shirt affected my subconscious--I nearly bought a shirt with an eagle on it for my 7 year old son until I realized what was prompting me to do it!

I had loved this look on Marty when he had sung Creep. I had liked the color of the shirt...a blue color that really had emphasized the color of his hair, eye, and skin tone. Gorgeous! Marty had let his powerful singing voice be the other accessory needed to compliment that outfit he had worn that night. Uh oh...Looks as though Marty had forgotten to button that last button there on the shirt...here Marty let me help you out there with that button...what Marty?...why am I unbuttoning the other buttons? ;D

these are all killer -- but the Arms Wide Open look and the I Alone and Brightside ensembles were too cool. So, to sum up, I can't choose! Rockbeast, you ain't alone! How's the haircut?

I saw him in it in person, and real close up, while he was signing my CD insert. (See avatar.) It's a tuxedo shirt, and the pink part was stiff. (heh heh...!....) Thus it gapped open when he moved. Very nice! He looked very lean in this outfit, because it was so close-fitting. After a while, he had the shirt untucked, or it came untucked while he was doing the Q&A session while INXS was deliberating. He took off and put back on the suspenders several times, too. He was really pumped up by the crowd reaction that day--I think that's what led to the guitar smash! Gotta love it!!!

I like how it is hidden privately behind his ear, covered up by hair, but then when he tosses his head back, there it is... just so black against his skin. It looks really cool. Here is a closeup of it from a video capture from the finale episode. Modified to say: I should go in there and take that darn CBS logo off that picture... How dare they!!! Maybe I can get to that later. It will for sure come off before i post it on the site!

Pink/peach still not the best color choice for his pale skin and hair. But hey, I can appreciate it gaping open. That redeems the color!! Modified to add this: So you were at the Q&A that day? Tell us what you learned.... I have been wanting to post all the Q&A info about Marty that was revealed at the RS:I tapings...but just haven't had the time to go back and pull all that info out of the various posts from people in attendance posted over at TWoP and other spots.

It's so hidden most of the time and then when he rocks out you can catch glimpses of it...it's really cool and very attractive. I also love the fact that it's black and thus, when seen, really stands out agains his pale skin. (...If I were to get a tat, it's probably be something like that; simple, hidden, and meaningful.)
