I have been told that over on Rockband.com they are doing episode by episode discussions of the Rock Star: INXS shows, as many of them have procured the "contraband" DVD's or had Tivo'ed the shows. That board is very JD-centric, so I thought to give our lovely Marty Casey a fair shake, we should do our version of the blow by blow on the Rock Star Episodes. Not to incriminate anyone, but many of us do have episode copies, acquired in various and sundry ways. (This thread is not to encourage that or even tell you how to get them, that you will need to handle privately off the board. ) So this poll is to determine if there is an interest in doing episode discussions on the board. If so, Amy and I will set a viewing schedule for everyone and then begin discussions episode by episode based on the set schedule. So please take the poll and leave comments on this thread if you would like. MODIFIED to add: Sorry I messed up the poll question. It should say "How I feel about a Rock Star: INXS episode discussions on this board." After it posts, I can't change it.  |

Don't have the episodes but I'll join as best as can (though I'll try to hunt down the eps, I want 'em anyway) Tooke- ME TOO SUGAR! if you (or anyone) has luck, I have a burner and will be glad to (ahhh wait, cindy will delete this) NEVER- MIIIIIIIIIIND LOL I just cannot (like others) afford the 45-80 dollars going rate for the entire series on DVD (ALL OF IT, EVERY LAST SNIPPET) on ebay.............. it sucks I would give it for free (or a small fee for the blanks and postage).... God I wish I had this on Tivo............. I dont even have Tivo. I just found out what it is. As it is, I am NOT buying the stupid RS INXS that they are releasing soon, its on my netflix though |

I would love to rehash the episodes. I have tivo'd from Mr. Brightside thru the finale less when Jordis was eliminated. I have only half tjat episode (the schedule was only listed as a half an hour and that happened to be one of the only ones I missed watching live).
However, I've ordered my DVD and should get it in the mail any day. WoooooHooooo! I can't wait to see earlier episodes. I saw WAWO, but didn't record it. I have all of Marty's performances on DVD, but I don't know how the band responded to him and I haven't watched any of the other's performances.

I'll never watch TV without it. My unit is 2+ years old and I love, love it. We don't have TiVo in Canada. Even if we did I probably wouldn't have it. I don't even have cable. I have 4 channels (and one of them is French). My friends make fun of me because watching TV at my place is like time-travelling back to the early 70s. ;D I just bought a DVD player last month and haven't even used it yet. I'm waiting for my Live/Raw and RSINXS DVDs. P.S. I do have 5 episodes of RSINXS on video (and I practically have them memorized) so I'm always up for a discussion. |

In my part of the world, Rockstar INXS is being replayed in one of the local TV stations  So I get to tape the episodes... (missed the very first one though - You Really Got Me - still can't forgive myself...). Last night they played the episode where Marty sang Mr. Brightside... never realized I'd be blown away all the more after seeing it the second time. And man! I was so covering my face when I saw that clip where Mig was apologizing to JD for naming him the most difficult in the house. yikkkesss! yuckkkkk! Anyway, I'm jumping way out of point... so... YES, I'm all for this! |

Cool, pines. I'll have to wait for the dvd. I don't have episodes taped. But I'd probably read the discussion.
I edited this to say "wait for the highlights dvd." I can't afford the whole shbang either.

ooohh... cool... i voted for "i don't have the episodes but i'll try to participate..." but RS:INXS is airing in one of our local tv stations here in the Philippines, so i think i'll be able to put in comments (i was able to follow RS:INXS when it was still on through cable tv)... we're in week 5 (mr. brightside week) right now, so from hereon i'll try to take down notes... |

I have all the episodes and would love to participate. I just happened to watch the first two today (that I had missed them first time around). Watching Marty's performances from week 1 and week 2 were interesting. The first episode I saw was week 3 and Lithium. Seeing the early performances and knowing how he grew so much is really interesting.

Don't entirely understand what "participate" means- but I have every episode still on TiVo and we still watch something daily.
And there's no shortage of opinions 'round here, either!

I have all the performance and elimination shows tivo'ed except the first two weeks. I only taped a couple of the reality shows. I will do my best to participate. ;D

Oh goody! It looks like we have quite a few interested. And so far only one has expressed impending boredom. Well, I guess they will just have to skip our discusssion thread in the future. I'd say that the "Ayes" have it. So Amy and I will talk about this and post a schedule for episode viewing so everyone can get on the same page. We can then refresh our memories with viewings. And we can start episode discussions. Stay tuned!
