If you go check out this music cd music.msn.com/album/?album=44980648you will discover that there are new, longer versions of some of the rockers hits avialable for download. You can also get this at ITunes. As I understand it, the version of Mr. Brightside on here by Marty is a longer version and is the one recorded live in an after taping CD session done back in late August ( I think) someone can correct me if that is not the date. I just bought and downloaded all of Marty and Jordis's tracks off of here and the Mr. Brightside is indeed longer and is really really good. I recommend this. |

Thanks Cindy, I'll be heading over there after Chistmas. (Strange how an MP3 player ended up at the top of my Christmas list all of a sudden  ) I really, really hope those songs will be available for download in Canada. Or I'm going to have to hit up one of my American buddies for help.  |

I got the longer Mr. Brightside off of iTunes and it is definitely very good. Totally recommend it!
I wonder why the longer Lithium he recorded in that same live session is not available? Kinda bummed about that. But, yah, Mr. Brightside is great!

Lithium is my all time favorite MARTY song.
Wish he would make it into a special CD of his best songs.
it would sell like hot cakes.
I WANT a CD of just Marty tunes, oops did I say CD , I meant DVD!!!

thanks! I just happened to be updating my Marty/LH playlists for my ipod and wahddya know, more Brightside! Even tho I have all of the songs, this is the first chance I have to actually pay for them! Guilt-free downloading! Hoorah!

If these are the longer songs...these are (I think) the live recordings they did with the last 6 rockers. We were told at CBS that MB productions would probably turn this into another CD, however maybe they've scratched that & just decided to put them up for download only. Not sure! But anyway, it was an audio recording with the last 6 rockers (Marty, Mig, Suzie, Ty, J.D., & Jordis) & they played/recorded 2 of their most downloaded songs up to that point. They were all absolutely fabulous! Well worth the downloads...for all of them.  |

Mr. Brightside is indeed awesome. How funny that Hit Me Baby One More time is on this one. What song would he least want to be remembered for?

hi sandra, just got the dvd as early xmas pressie from extremely indulgent hubby and son. I think it's okay. Has nice performance clips -- more of jd and marty than others. The extras are okay too -- scenes w/MC we haven't seen before. Also included is the mini concert that JD/INXS did after finale. Now this might seem weird, but I tell ya, I waited til last to watch the concert cause I just didn't want to see JD singing INXS tunes and honestly I got quite emotional watching the 1st song. it made me realize how much I loved Michael H. Okay then second song is Never Tear Us Aprat and JD (sweetly, really) takes mike and goes to other rockers and has them sing the lyrics. Marty sings the line "I'd make wine from your tears" and it is SOOO BEAUTIFUL and sounds SO PERFECT that I instantly thought he should have won. No kidding. I know we're all hammerheads and we're happy with second place. But damn, that sounds good. Also, when JD sings Don't Change he doesn't EVEN TRY to hit the big notes at the end. It's unbelievable. Anyway, get it so you can hear Marty sing one line of a song, talk some more in the behind the scenese stuff and walk around in his undies at JD's birthday bash. Also his audition tape is hysterical -- he looks bizarre!

that's my favorite line Never Tear Us Aprat i cant wait to see/hear it i think i'm getting it for xmas too saw it in my mom's car and nice to see another Michael H fan i used to be in love with him when i was younger

i really loved MH and kind of put it out of my head since his death. but somehow seeing JD sing as a member of the band just sank my heart -- i really got emotional. And I SWEAR i have fast-forwarded and rewound the line Marty sings so many tiems already. It's my fave bit in fave INXS song and honestly he sounds amazing.

I kind of hope LH do their meet and greet after their set so I can go meet them and miss some of the JD show -- I am not sure how I will deal with it. Sounds dumb, i realize, but I saw INXS twice -- once on their first tour of US (the minor hit was Original Sin) and later in HK, where MH went to school. Both were a blast and he was fantastic.
