any woman will be happy in marty's arm. wish it was me. lol. i actually didn't like that she made him nervous with that "raspy voice comment" and "developing nodes problem". marty's just a nice guy and has the ability to see passed people's flaws. still i wish i was in his arms. ha ha I think Suzie was just totally clueless about how that remark would affect him. She has nodes and she was seeing them in everyone. It probably did help Marty's popularity. He's such a strong capable person that he seems more human when he's got an obstacle to deal with. I fell for him the week he sang Hit Me Baby One More Time for that very reason. |

I agree, everlong. At first glance her comment did seem like an attempt to shake his confidence, but I think in hindsight it really was just a case of two people just meeting and trying to hit upon things to talk about. I think she just spoke a bit carelessly without thinking how it was going to sound to him or how it might affect him. Suzie gave an interview after the show was over and she said when she watched that first episode she realized she did come off as a bitch for what she said to Marty and she really hadn't intended it that way.
She and Marty seemed to become very good friends during the rest of the show. When she was eliminated, he did a print interview and said that 75% of the fun left the house when she did because he enjoyed her sense of humor a lot and was going to miss her during the last week of competition. When the show actually ended, she named him several times as the most important person to her in the whole house. She said he was always supportive of her and she loves him like a brother.

Awww...that's pretty cool. I think it's awesome that they all became such tight friends during that show. It really was such a life-changing experience for them all...I guess for all us too considering how much we love and adore Marty now!

Actually, I'm kinda glad that Suzie made that comment. It drew my attention to Marty immediately & made me want to root for him before I'd even heard him sing, LOL. But then of course, once I heard him, I was like, "whoooaaaaa".....   |

Watching the show I thought that person would have been JD for her... they did get pretty close and worked on some songs together...
Well, who said we can trust reality shows 100% eh?
There really is still a lot of Marty that we haven't seen from that show! The thought drives me crazy!

Thanks for that link, radioclash. I'd forgotten about that interview. Yes, the editing certainly played a role in how we perceived relationships in the house.
Most of the singers did chats on MSN after each got eliminated from the show and almost every one of them was asked who they felt closest to in the house. Several people mentioned Marty -- Ty, MiG, Suzie, Tara. On CBS's Rockstar site, there is a video interview with Suzie's final words where she also talks about who she was close to in the house and how important Marty was to her.

It's funny so many of the contestants said they were closet to Marty and Marty always named Jordis as his best friend in the house.

omg is she for real..... remember at the start of the show how she tryd to say he has a natural raspy voice..... how she made him nervous??? yeah she is kind of awesome but that was way uncool how she put him in the spot like that. now she's kissing his arse? whats up with that. I think that was when they all looked at it like any other contest that you want to win on reality TV. You try and mess people up and mess with there heads. Then they i think realised..... HEY. So what if I dont win , If i put my real self out there do my best and perform then this show will get us noticed.... and it did. I rather belive that. cause they seem like real good friends now. |
