i liked matt, too...i just want to see him sing something else. he needs to get his edge on to be in this group. he's great on his own for sure.. I agree about Matt, but does anybody else find it really annoying how the judges complain about the song choice...when they’re the ones putting Coldplay on the song list, to begin with? BTW, I really want to take Matt out and get him a new haircut. Totally! How dare they choose some of these songs and then wonder why the contestants couldn't pull them off!!

Yes, afranjes. The band (or the producers) picked the songs! The performers are stuck with one of their choices. I am reserving my early opinions until I hear at least one more song by each. However, I will say this: I PREDICT A GIRL ROCKER WILL END UP FRONTING SUPERNOVA!

ok here's my 2 cents:
Storm, awesome, great start to the show.
Patrice, I'm impressed.
Dilana, not quite sure yet, but couldn't turn away. Wasn't it hilarious the way the crowd went nuts just by her using the word "horny"? LOL
Jill, hell yeah! She did Janice Joplin proud. What a little firecracker! Can't wait to see what else she can do.
Lukas, kicked ass. He wasn't trying to be Billy Idol, made the song his own, yet still stayed true to the song, if that makes sense.
Everyone else left no impression, nothing special.....so far.
I did notice the guy trying to do Marty moves, I can't remember now if it's the same guy that was imitating Marty's wardrobe or not. The chick who played the guitar seems to be this year's version of Deanna except this chick has no talent that I can see. The dude who screwed up "Roxanne" is cute, but what the hell was he thinking? No guys for me to lust over, maybe someone will grow on me. This is definitely a women's competition with the exception of Lukas.....so far.
Not enough Tommy Lee for me, what is it about him??? God he's hot. Can the producer guy on the end stop the tweaking please? I hate nothing worse than a tweaker.
I would love to see these rockers belting out Crue, Metallica & G & R tunes for survival. Yes I am a child of the 80s, lol.
I'm hooked on the show already.

okay- dilana has certainly got a vibe- but...personally i think she copied marty's perfectly still performance....and then the explosion during lithium. but thats just me. and, her jumping around thing - i dont get it, i dont dig it. but that's just me.
chris just sang la woman, one of my personal favorites....did he do his hair like a prince valiant jim morrison thing for this show? or am i just a total wench? i thought he was gonna be great but he doesnt move so great- anybody agree? i expected more - well, back to the show.

Okay - you left coasters have got to keep your act together for us on the other side until airtime. Don't these rockers know they're going to be fronting a "rather metal" band here? Hopefully we'll see something just a bit "dirtier" as the PPoD subtlely suggested in his usual engaging way....

I think it was the right decision. Matt definitely has more of a John Mayor feel in my opinion. I also think Chris, although cute as a button, is on borrowed time.

Agreed............go to her site and listen to her version of HMBOMT........nuff said............she doesn't impress me in the slightest...........at least not yet............ So far I'm dissapointed..........I don't feel the electricity I felt last year.........can't put my finger on it..........maybe the bar was set so high last year it's proving difficult for anyone to reach it this year........ Then again.......it is only the first week......... and I'm being way too critical???

I'm with you Stiletto... I've narrowed it down to my "early" top three, but I certainly wasn't riveted by anyone as I was last season by a certain someone....

Then again.......it is only the first week......... and I'm being way too critical??? Double agree. I thought i was the only one that felt that way. About Dilana, I feel she tries toooooo hard to be intense. For Marty it's like...in a more...transitional, creative, subtle kind of intense. That's what I like about him. Dilana is just full blown madness, and that leaves nothing to the imagination. Marty is like a ticking time bomb when he preforms and THAT is what brings the intensity.I might be a liiiitttle but biased here, but what oh what the heck, what can I say? Marty rocks LOL Dilana is good though, but maybe she'll go through some growth, just like Marty did and grow into a more definite style. But right now I'm not feeling her THAT much. And as far as the season goes, I agree as well. I think that since everyone's seen the first season...the viewers AND the rockers know what to expect. I think this season is missing the "fresh" element. The rockers in the first season came in completely raw and "clueless" so-to-speak. Now, for the rockers its like "okay, I know they like when the preformer interacts with the band so I'll do that" or "They like it when we use the whole stage so I'll do that" or "okay, I know that they like to hear accoustic performances so I'll do that". Even with Lukas's attitude, its like de'ja vu, because he was probably thinking "well, it worked for JD, maybe it'll work for me" LOL IT just seems like there's no element of the unknown like it was for last season. yes we have a different band with different expectations, but with the rockers' performances, they seem to FEED off of last season...and that loses something for me. Don't get me wrong, I'm going to faithfully watch this show (because I have some 'attachments' already to a few rockers lol), but i don't think it'll be nearly as good as last season.

Aw, man. Why did Lukas have to bust out with some JD behavior??? I can't help but still like him, though.
