I watched this last night -- it was like the I MISS MARTY show -- so many songs are either tunes he sang on RS or that he and Hammers perform.
My thoughts: Magni -- really nice guy, not a great singer. I think Dilana is gonna nail it again. So do not want to hear Chris or Jill or Zayra (sp?) -- will try hard not to cringe.
Why oh why must everyone smoke?
Why oh why are the song choices all the same? The producers need to do something about this!
Why oh why are the MSN boards re-hashing the same ol' BS featuring JD vs Marty? Does anyone care? Am determined to hide out here where sanity more prevalent.
can't wait for the clinics to start and to see the concert show!

Just watched the reality part on-line.
Chris: he should stay away from Marty songs. He's just too over confident for me.
Dilana: I got goosebumps listening to her at rehearsal. I can't wait to here the real deal.
Zyara: she should just pack her bags already. Can you believe she even made it on the show meanwhile that hottie rocker from AI didn't make it on last season.
Magni: he's a nice guy.

I'm so looking forword to hearing Dilana's performance tonight!! Last week I thought she was very intense, and definetly had my attention. I was unsure if I liked the sound of her voice, and was hoping to hear the softer side, like when Marty sang wish you were here. I like "Needy" had goosebumps too watching her reherse "ring of fire" last night, she was awesome!!! I have a feeling she's got that intensity and passion like Marty does. I really enjoyed listening to her feelings on last nights epidode....she seems so modest, not over confident. When she walked out of the rehersal it so reminded of when Marty came out shaking his head after the "hit me baby one more time" rehersal. They were both not sure what to expect!! She's going to WOW us....I can feel it!!  |

I just have to say....I  the House Band! I love hearing their assessment of the different rehearsals and contestants. I'm so glad they brought them back. I don't mind the song repetition from last year that much. I think it's interesting to see different takes on the same song. I mean, these are not new songs to begin with. Most of us already know these songs as performed by their original artist, and we are still able to judge the contestants when they sing them. As long as the contestants don't treat this as a karaoke contest and just imitate another singer's version of it, I'm fine with it. I can't wait til the show tonight... |

I really like the house band. They seem like genuinely cool guys, when everybody else is trying too hard. I think that it's weird that the personalities I like in the reality show, I don’t necessarily like in the performance show (and vice versa...some of the people who have sounded good, I really don’t like). Since less people are viewing the reality show this year, it may work out in the favor of the good performers...regardless of how annoying they are. So, what’s the deal with including another Coldplay song? Is Coldplay like “the short straw” that people need to fight not to perform? It seems as though whoever ends up performing it will get crucified by not being “rock” enough? |

Dude, what was up with the THREE Marty songs practically in a row?
and CHRIS had the NEEERRRVVEEE to do Take Me Out. He was really being brave, lets say that. LOL Cuz watching his performance REALLY made me MISS Marty on the show LOL. God, he had like NO ENERGY, compared the the ELECTRIC SOCKET of energy marty had in that song. WTH??? What was he THINKING??? LOL
And Oh god JOSH. He was a favorite of mine but that was the WRONG song to bring some "soul" too. I'm sorry, you just don't "BOUNCE" to "Arms Wide Open" LOL. He just looked so silly on stage doing that to me.
Why oh why did they recycle songs that marty has done? I'mma have to take out the taped episodes of the first season in a minute. LOL

Shouldn't the songs that last years rockers kicked butt with be put in a vault so that no one else can sing them. not that this years versions were not good , but it just not easy not to compare them to last years, and wenever they do a song from last year (especially one of Marty's) I tend to hear Marty version or Jordis's version or whoever else sang it insted of whose sing it now. So it's just hard to watch
