Okay I will admit I was distracted during much of the show, but I gotta say nobody did it for me last night. I too thought everyone would come out smokin hot after the Roxy shows, but I found it dullsville.
Phil (sorry Pen) made me laugh
Jenny made me sleep
Ryan made me want to send him a box of Ex-lax
Toby made me shrug in a so-what kinda way
Lukas ditto. Seen it before baby. But THANK YOU for changing the makeup
Josh made me miss ____'s version of Come as You Are
Dilana made me want to dig out my Cranberries CD
Dana made me want to call Ryan Seacrest and tell him we found a missing AI auditioner
Storm made me scream at the TV. "You are cool. You can sing. Stop popping your eyeballs out of your head!"
Jill --made me think of a line from All About Eve. "You're too short for that gesture." She should keep away from the House band it shows how teeny she is. voice or no voice it's distracting.
Magni --made me miss Bjork.
Patrice -made me want to make a batch of Kool-Aid and some chocolate chip cookies. She's a suburban mom. No "it" factor.
Zayra -- made me hope this is the last time I have to type her name. How is it possible for anyone to make me appreciate Ty Taylor?
man I was rough this week. That's what ya get when you combine mediocre performances with my jet lag.

Gosh you guys! I thought this was the best night so far... maybe I'm just finally really getting into the show. Ryan, Josh, Dana ( I think It's My Life was her Swan Song), Jenny, and Zayra should be the next 5 to go... I can't picture them fronting SN but they are entertaining nevertheless. Encore? Phil w/Jason? Zayra (yikes but they thought she was cool)? Lukas?

I'm still not hooked for this season either. Zayara had a good performance last night, but not good enough to make up for the train wrecks of the last two weeks (IMHO). Dilyana bugs me....I don't like her stage persona. She tries to be a mix of Gene Simmons, Elvira, and the Grim Reaper. Blech. The little short blonde belts out everything and reminds me of Deana from last year. She oversings every song.
I don't really have a "favorite" but like Toby because he's hot and I kind of like Lukas.

Hey, I have too admit to that the performers are getting better but by week three last year we were getting our socks knocked off. I really appreciate how professional last year's Rockers were. Zayara: I called my hubby over, "hey come see her ruin a REM song". We both agreed she has to get off but at the very end we both looked at each other and said "uhh". So I'll give her credit for the last few bars. During her performance though, I told hubby she sounded like the girl from Cranberries. She would have done better with Zombie. Magni: Why does everyone hate him? I liked him. I think he has a lot of potential and he seems like a nice guy. Phil: His best so far. He's not overly talented but he's got potential if he tries harder. Lukas: I wish he would sing already so I can hear his voice. He's fun to watch but I'd never listen to him on the radio. Dilana: Like her and found her performance interesting. I think she looks better on the reality episodes without the costumes. She too needs to let her voice do the work and not try so hard to force it. My hubby couldn't believe that she's the "Suzy" of this year 'cause she's always crying. Storm: Love her voice but now I understand why Dave Navorro said that her last performance reminded him of Cats. She needs to tone down her expressions that do look staged and just get into it. The rest of them: No opinion 'cause they bored the crap out of me. Tommy Lee: My my is he a handsome man. Gilby Clarke: His eyes twinkle. I love his honesty. Jason: He is a good bass player a little dorky but I like him too.

And I agree about the comparison of this year to last year's. This time last year I was already hooked on MiG, Jordis, and Marty. They were stand-out favorites for me. This year, no one stands out yet. Someone should've grabbed me by the throat by now!

OMG! Needy! I said the same thing about Zayra trying to copy Delores from the Cranberries voice. I can't remember the last time I heard or even thought about the Cranberries (I didn't watch the reality show). Then Dilana busts out with Zombie! I thought it was great, but I also think Zayra with her fake Delores voice would have done a good job with it also. I thought this was the best performance show so far! Also, loved that they finally added some new songs! Magni, who I absolutely hated before, did okay. Still didn't love him, but I can see he has some talent. Lukas (liked the make-up so much better) looked good, but didn't sound as good. Patrice really rocked! Philster - not so noodly! Ryan, Jenny, Zayra, Dana and Josh are not riot for Supernova and will all be gone soon enough I imagine. Dana is definitely talented, but looks like she is pretending to be a rock chick. Jenny doesn't even bother pretending to be a rock chick! Ryan kinda makes me laugh out loud. He's really terrible in my opinion. My favorite performances this week go to Dilana, Patrice and the Philster. ;D

Great reviews everyone. I can't seem to get behind even one performer. I started to like Jill after her second performance, but she does just over-sing at times. Liked Toby too, except last night didn't impress me.
Bottom line - This season/Last Season - NO COMPARISON!
I really wish the producers would have changed up the show more too. I can't believe they've used some of the same performance songs and all the same show (background) music too. The mansion is of course great, but they could have picked a new location.

My favorite (most enterntaining) performances last night were Phil and Lukas. I love how darling little Phil was trying to look so ferocious. It cracked me up. Loved it! I wish he'd get the encore tonite. Lukas was awesome, but it doesn't seem like he learned much from the voice clinic or paid heed to what Jason told him last week of constrictiing his voice. This could be his downfall. Dilana was surprisingly good. Other than that no one really impressed me except Magni, sort of Patrice and I still like Toby even though the song he did was boring. I've liked Storm's performances up until last night. Same with Dana. Just terrible song choices. But it's not really their fault. Someone has to pick the terrible songs. I wish the producers would stop choosing a song list of some songs no one likes. But then I guess that's where the real talent lies. Taking a boring song and making it really stand out. Oh yeah, and Zayra wasn't quite as terrible as previously. I haven't a clue as to who'll be in the bottom three tonite. But if I'd venture a guess, I'd say Ryan, Dana and maybe Jenny. Who knows......

Zayra was the worst! My boyfriend got up went outdoors so as not to hear her, that's how bad it was, yet those guys gushed over her...the last few bars were her best of the song, so maybe they quickly forgot the tortured animal sounds before that.. WTH? At one point, the back-lighting made Zayra's dress see-through...that pretty much ensures that the judges will keep her around for another week.

I agree with the fact that last year was so much better...and I REALLY miss Marty. No one has even come close to capturing me like he did.
Having said that, I do think it was a little better last night. (By the way, I also switched over to watch a little bit of "The One" on ABC, didn't watch much, but Idid see a guy who could really sing, such a contrast to watching some of those posers on Rock Star) I don't like most of the people, and I don't know what any of you see in Phil, he sings through his nose, I just can't stand him. I thought Jason playing bass with Phil was the best part of the show, and the fact that he rammed into Phil made me crack up. I had to give props to Phil for just keeping it going anyway. Of course, I am partial to Jason, because he is a rock god and all...The only ones that I really liked were Magni and Dilana. Dilana scares me a little, but at least she sounds good. I wasn't so crazy about "Ring of Fire" last week, but she rocked "Zombie". I also like Storm, but geez, tone it down a little...

Hey, who's the guitar player during the voice clinic. He so reminds me of someone? Could it be? I thought so too. On first glance, he looks a lot like Billy, but the nose is too long and the hair is too light in color. I think that is Billy--Look at the pictures from the Roxy--it looks exactly the same--I think he is growing out his hair so it looks lighter. My hubby has the same color hair and when it is longer it's lighter and plus he has probably been in the sun. I think you are right!!!!!

He looks similar, for sure. But, that is not Billy.

It was a good show tonight - I do believe they got the elimination right this time!

Of the 3, I think they did the right thing. I don't know how Zayara didn't make the bottom 3. Were they listening to the same thing that I was listening to last night??? She is tone deaf and can't sing at all--this is coming from another person who can't sing--but I don't pretend that I can sing. I'm sure she was glad that she didn't have to perform--I would have liked to see if she did the same song as last night or if she took the effort to perform something new. I'm just not thrilled w/any performances and I really wish I could make the Park West tomorrow b/c I need an LH buzz

Well.....I'm not quoting on indivual performances......I'll just make generalizations...... 1. Singing off key is okay if you can get away with it......but not for an entire song........I've seen more of them sing off key than I'd like to mention............. 2. Amy is correct...........SOMEONE......should have jumped out by now............but NOONE........has.......... 3. The performances are getting better.........my beef is that it seems that the elimination performances are always better than the performance of the night before.........why!!! ??.........Marty did it right last year........put his heart and soul into every performance.........made it his song.........I have yet to see anyone do that............... 4. Why oh why is Zayra still there............."One of these things is not like the other.........one of these things just doesn't belong...." That's all I have for now............

Watching this second season of RS:SuperOver? (sorry, my bad) just makes me realize anew what a bright light Marty was last year. I'm not ready to give up entirely on the hamsters but they are at a real disadvantage. I felt bad for the kid having to tackle "With Arms Wide Open." I mean, come on--talk about a set up that could only be unflattering to him. Marty totally knocked that one out of the park.
The fellow from Iceland is growing on me. The pierced girl (ouch) has some real talent but I get exhausted just watching her for a minute and a half and that bouncing around is getting grating. I hate all that hardware too.
Anyway, off topic, but the photos of Marty at the Roxy in LA are terrific. I really really like many of the black and whites. Thanks!
