Got this idea over at Leperpop, still one of the funniest blogs around. If you were in the final three, what would you sing to impress SuperNova? I answered: "Straight as an Arrow" ... but only because I miss Marty. Otherwise, I'd do "I Wanna be Sedated", because that's how I feel after suffering through an hour of these poor excuses for rock stars! (With the possible exceptions of Dilana and Lukas ... I haven't made up my mind about them yet.)

That's a tough one........... Probably not appropriate I suppose but I think I'd do - "Momma I'm Coming Home" - Ozzy

Wendy, you got me thinking about Bob Dylan so much with this question that I went and bought the remastered greatest hits album on iTunes which is still as fabulous to listen to as if it was still the 60s... (god, I'm old! but I love digital remastering!)
The song I was actually thinking I could sing was Positively 4th St, it starts like this...
You've got a lotta nerve to say you are my friend..
and ends with
You'd know what a drag it is to see you....
Best kiss off song ever!!!! Rock on!

Thanks for the props, Wendy.
So here are the correct answers:
Female: Roses Grow by Concrete Blonde, accompanied only by Nate on drums (in the style of the live version on the Still in Hollywood CD).
Male: New Orleans Is Sinking by Tragically Hip
Thanks for playing, and remember, just like in Rock Star, there are no losers!
Warmest Regards, Sid

Hey gingerpyle,
Well, we've already ascertained that I'm older than you! And yes, that is one of the greatest Dylan songs of all time, which is saying something.
And Sid, thanks for the acknowledgement. I'm honored to be the recipient of your first post over here at MC.org. You guys rock! (Too bad most of the RS contestants don't ... )

I would probably do either
"She's Not There" (can't remember who did it)
"Little China Girl" by David Bowie (one of the only songs that fits my range)
or "You May Be Right" by Billy Joel.

Hey, A! You said you need a song to fit within your range? ...try doing monkey noises ooo ooo ooo (or what we call the Julia Child voice) and sing with that. That's your singing voice! I bet you'd be amazed at your range then....I was when I was taught that! I'd been used to projecting my voice to read aloud to groups or to emcee assemblies at school, and that wasn't my singing voice at all...... Rock on! And sing it LOUD!

"She's Not There" was originally done by the Zombies. They also did "Tell Her No."

I could sing the Star Spangled Banner Roseanne'style with a PuertoRican accent, wearing the Wonder Woman Costume, platform heels and crazy eyes and will make it to the end......

I actually used to sing (but I suck now! lol), so if I were up there, I'd sing "Somebody to Love" by Queen. Weird choice, I know.

Since I am a female...I think I would go with either "Would I Lie to You" by Eurthymics; or "What's Love Got to Do with It" by Tina Turner.
