1. I have been unable to hear the Ryan Star- Dave Navarro interview but I guess everyones talking about it. Can someone list the main points of the interview, the gist of the conversation? I would really appreciate it so much. 2. Has anyone noticed the topic at Rock band.com about Supernova picking 2 lead singers.....A girl and a guy? ? That is trippy if its true, how would that work? I did read about it in a small TV guide interview with Tommy. TV guide may have edited it to stir things up. I don't know what to believe?? Help!!!!! thanks loves Jilly

Hey Jilly!
Here's an article about Ryan's departure in yesterday's 'NY Newsday'...
Farewell, 'Supernova's' Falling Star ~~Rafer Guzmán
September 1, 2006
After a nine-week run on CBS' "Rock Star: Supernova," Ryan Star delivered his farewell speech on Wednesday night's show.
As the episode began, Star appeared well-positioned to rebound out of the bottom three. He had already run through a high-energy rendition of Coldplay's "Clocks" Tuesday night, and his version of The Who's "Baba O'Reilly" on Wednesday looked like a triumph.
"The Ryan standing in front of us is not the Ryan that started this competition," Supernova guitarist Gilby Clarke said. "You were great tonight. That was one of the greatest audience receptions we've seen." But Clarke ended on an ominous note, questioning whether Star was the right singer for the band.
As always, drummer Tommy Lee delivered the bad news. He sugared the pill by saying, "Ryan, after nine weeks, dude, you're the only cat who's come the farthest."
Guest judge Dave Navarro told Star, the onetime singer for local band Stage: "I've become a fan over the past few weeks."
Star, a 28-year-old Dix Hills native born Ryan Stahr, said goodbye to Supernova with a short speech that sounded less like a concession and more like a challenge.
"With me as your singer, I feel like you could have made 20 years of great music," he said, eyeing the band. "But I respect your decision, so good luck. And I'm going to return to being a solo artist. So I'll see you on the record charts, 'cause that's where I'm gonna be hanging out." Star's 20-song solo album, "Songs from the Eye of an Elephant" (Stone Crow Records) drops Sept. 19.
OXO Lucy

My sister was very sad that Ryan got kicked off. She had become a fan. She even ordered a CD from Ryan's myspace I think. The shipping was very fast, less than a week to Singapore. I'm very sure I'll be forced to play it in my car when I see her later today...

Thanks Lucy, Gaia and Mad I have been hoping that the transcript would be on Dave's site but no luck. I did notice that he has a few nicely designed websites and apparently he is big on the east coast. He doesn't need Supernova to be a hit. He will go farther on his own. I used to think Marty fronting INXS would've made them both bigger than they ever dreamed but hindsight says Marty is better off for sure. Ryan will be too when the pain of rejection wares off. I think that whatever happens all the Rockers will succeed. thanks again Jilly

jilly, your question about the two singers thing might refer to an earlier episode of RS:SN in which a fan of Dilana's suggests how cool it would be if both Dilana and Ryan sang for SN. Dilana said she'd shoot him first and Ryan also said no way. During the performance show, Dave told Dilana that she needs to think carefully about disparaging what fans suggest; she replied that she just doesn't want to share the job. This was one of the pre-cursors to Dilana's meltdown with the press, etc.

Hey there, I found part of the TLee interview again. Its in the Sept. 4-10 issue of TV Guide. One of the questions is "Would you pick a woman to front the band?" He says, "I would do it in a second, just to be different! Ultimately, I would Love to have one of each. Picking a male and female lead singer? Yep I think that would be Killer!" with four finalist left it makes me wonder??? back to Jerry Lewis Jilly isn't it totally sad about Steve Irwin?? I feel for his wife and kids
