Would it be possible to strike a deal with JK fans? Lh fans vote for JK for best unsigned, and JK fans vote for Lh for best band w/a label? If we band together, we could get them both to the top.

Be careful. JK is now signed to a label. They can't compete in the unsigned band category....but then if their fans want to vote for LH....have at it!!

Dont pass out 4, you have to go to San Juan Cap show with me, Jodie and Polar and then the Troubador the next night! I am dragging Jodie to San Diego with me too so she will hit all 3 I think!
Let me know if anyone else can come to the San Diego show too. We'll be street teaming. So excited.

Ok, I have a confession. I started out supporting Toby just because he seemed like such a nice guy. He always listened so intently to the SN guys. He was really there to learn as much as he could. I had listened to Toby's band's songs on MySpace, but hadn't *really* listened. The other day, I downloaded all three of Juke Kartel's songs on iTunes just as a show of support. I put JK's songs on my iPod mixed in with all my other favorite rock songs: Lh, Jet, Killers, etc.
I went for a walk, taking my iPod with me. I had my songs set to shuffle, and this song came on that I had didn't recognize right away. I thought to myself, "This kind of sounds like a Lh song." But, since I can recognize all Lh songs within a few seconds of them starting, I knew it wasn't one. I kept listening, trying to figure out what song this was. It was a total kick *ss song! The guitar was unbelievable! Then it gets to the chorus, and I realize it's a Juke Kartel song - "Save Me"! I was so unbelievably excited!
It's one thing to support a band/performer because they're a great person; it's a completely other thing to realize that their work is phenominal! I knew Toby could sing because I heard him on RS, but hearing him with his band was completely different.
Anywho. [/confession]

Ceejee
Glad you gave Juke Kartel a chance!!!
You're not the first person who thought Toby was 'so-so' on RS but really like him with his band.
It's amazing how different someone can be in their element!
