Dunno if anyone else here has checked it out, but I bought it Friday and thought I'd mention that even if you weren't a huge fan of his stuff on the show, the cd's actually worth a listen, particularly if you liked his piano performances, as pretty much the entire cd is done on piano, which gives it an almost Billy Joel-ish feel to it.
For those of you interested, the tracks I would recommend checking out (with track numbers) are:
2. So Ordinary 5. Psycho Suicidal Girls 6. "O" 7. Back of Your Car (a very stripped down version) 11. Sink or Swim 13. Famous Yet 16. Here Son

I just turned on the TV and Ryan Star was live on our local ABC affiliate here in CT. He talked about his new CD and the band he formed in high school before his solo career took off. He is touring around to promote the CD and is headed to Malasia in a couple weeks. He did So Ordinary accoustic. He didn't sound that good -- muffled and distorted. Must have been lousy sound in the TV studio.

Hearing him live on the news didn't make me not want to get the CD. I know the sound system wasn't his fault. The song was good and I know the guy can sing.

Ok, technically this post is NOT about Ryan Star's new album, but I didn't feel like starting a new thread, so here goes. Ryan Star is one of the performers coming to Singapore for Channel V's big music party this week. For those of you in the west, Channel V is kind of like Asia's MTV. Anyone in Singapore going to the shows, should find this a perfect opportunity to do some street teaming for MCLH! More details here: www.channelv.com/vparty/

Good to hear RB!! Some music you have to listen to a couple of time to get the ear hearing what is really being put across by a musician.... Yet again progressive jazzz still irritates my ears and I've tried and tried, Lord knows I've tried It's just not my cup of tea Now your going to have to find something else to put you to sleep RB!! Hummmmm.... maybe this will helpHope you had a yummmy Thanksgiving dude

Great pics, MyO! I really wish Ryan would come to Chicago! Looks like I'll have to wait a while for that.
