Dawn, I am glad you had a good time seeing INXS. I saw them June 1, 2006. I won a contest and my friend and I got front row center seats. The Sony promotions manager took us backstate and we got our pictures taken with INXS, got to meet them and get their autographs. I got them to autograph my INXS book "Story to Story". They were also filming their video "Perfect Strangers". My friend and I can be seen in the audience twice. It was a good show.

Feather - just to let you know, no there are no visable hairs on that guys chest! But must admit, I was generally looking around when he was topless - there's just an air about him I don't like & didn't warm to on the RS:INXS show.
I quite liked the Switch album - it took a bit of finding here though, as I think I said previously, there was NO promotion for it.

It was about a 2000 seater. Not very big - but the biggest we have in Bristol.

Hmmm, haven't read the book. I've been looking for a juicy one to take to the beach . Thanks for the tidbit.

Yes, I guess it's true what a wise man said once--there are creators, and there are RE-creators.

Yes, I guess it's true what a wise man said once--there are creators, and there are RE-creators. Take this however you like - it's no secret that I adore JD! But the thing is many many musician sites have used that exact same idea in the ten years web sites have been routine for musicians, and personally I had a site where I did the exact same thing in 1996 - so it's far from an original idea. But who cares as both sites are extremely effective. Secondly, JD's site was in the works for a long time, so it's very likely it was actually designed first. Who knows? And finally, my opinion! Comparing both guys and their careers post-Rock Star can be fun and really interesting - but when anyone starts to slam one guy or the other? I think that's a little silly. Rock Star exposed us to lots of really brilliant artists, and there's room in my heart to love all of them. Whether you choose to love them all or not is your choice, but I honestly don't see how it helps Marty to slam JD? Or vice versa. Okay, to get back on track now - I will compare Marty and JD and say this... I think it's really interesting that they're both scheduled to release their first CDs since their major label debuts, at about the same time - it's just an unusual little twist of timing. No one has heard much of JD's new CD, but what we have heard is more experimental and he seems to be mining a very different vibe than what we heard on Rock Star or with INXS. It seems promising and I can't wait to hear the whole thing!

Well said, Cheryl. I don't mean to jump on the bandwagon, but it's only now I've been able to get online today to post my comments. With all due respect, I visited this thread thinking there was something new and interesting....all I found was J.D. bashing. I realize that this is Marty's site, but that doesn't mean it has to be an anti-J.D. site. I am a fan of both of them. And it has been 2.5 years since the show... Just trying to keep the words and vibe peaceful -Blue

If you go to the site, there's some kind of contest to win one of his journals. If you're a fan of his, you should check it out. My comments were meant as a bit of a chuckle that there was so much similarity in the designs of those sites. It really did call to mind Marty's quote about JD. If you disagree with that quote, please remember that it was Marty who said that, not me. Someone on this board uses that quote in their sig line, so I'm not the only one here to bring it up. So I don't see any slamming of JD in these posts.

And it has been 2.5 years since the show... Actually 3.5 years. Isn't that amazing? It seems like yesterday in some ways, and a million years ago in other ways. That show was such a gift!

If you disagree with that quote, please remember that it was Marty who said that, not me. It's possible to think a quote is truthful, and yet not agree with how it was applied, in this particular case. That's all. It's also fine for us not to agree. Passionate people have passionate opinions, and I wouldn't have it any other way!

Wow....3.5 years! That's right! I guess time is flying by too fast....
The remarks about J.D.'s page were snide, but whatever. I am not familiar with Marty's quote or someone else's signature. I was just responding to posts that looked rather negative. All of the Rockstar INXS contestants are talented and impressive in their own right. They deserve positive comments, in my opinion!
Enough said.

I'm just glad there's somewhere where I can find out information on ALL the contestants from RS:INXS - as we don't hear anything in the UK. It's no secret that I didn't warm to the JD that was on RS:INXS, but I'd be interested in his music. I'll have to keep an ear out about this one..... Wow - 3 1/2 years Really? Wow

Hey Dawn, if you're in the UK you may hear the scoop before we do on this one. The rumor was that JD is signed as a solo artist to Universal Music Group in the UK, as is INXS - and if you sign up on his new site, it goes to www.universalmusic.co.uk - so that might seem to confirm that particular rumor? If you hear anything locally, you'll have to share!
