hmmm, seems it's only me that was never a JD fan. I didn't like his underhandedness (if that's a word), or how he used people. To me on the first series of Rockstar, the battle was always between Mig & Marty - Maybe I viewed it different, being in the UK and watching all 3 episodes back to back - the before the performance/the performance & Elimination shows. Hey ho, just my opinion.

Hey ho, just my opinion. I'm not saying I was a JD fan, just that the rivalry was pretty cool to watch. JD, the bad boy - but somehow seeming to get into the heads of those INXS guys. Marty, the people's choice and the most awesome entertainer with the hottest moves and singing ever!!! MiG's music was just alright to me, but I loved his personality - he was one of the nicest guys in both years of RS!! JD & Lukas, both Canuck boys, both very talented and very in-your-face, so fun to watch... but my heart belonged to Marty and still does!!!

I was so delighted to see that Marty made it on top last night!!!! When I went to bed he was behind.
I am with Dawn on elimination. There is no way that I would vote for JD. I thought his work ethic was questionable and showed in his performances. For me it was always between Mig and Marty also. As for matching the 2 up again, I think not. I think fair is voting for the best artist. And of the 4 left JD would be on the bottom for me. For me Marty was, is , and always will be the best artist and performer and my votes will be cast in support of that.

Ok, So what I meant to say, was that my vote will be cast to eliminate JD. I would never vote in a manner to keep him in the running. I think the other artists worked harder and had better performances. Gee - I even get tongue twisted online....lol

Guys
I don't think you should feel guilty at all on who you choose to vote for on elimination day. I believe that the fans of Toby and MiG have always been so nice and welcoming to all of us and I have enjoyed Toby and MiG's performances a whole lot. Many of the Marty fans were Toby fans in season two and MiG was most everyone over here's second choice during RS:I.
I know for my personal vote on Tuesday that I will vote to eliminate JD and it is mostly because of how badly his fans have always treated me or made me feel all the way back to 2005. Those people over at that fortune448 site and on MSN.com had always been horrible to any Marty fan, and I haven't forgotten it.
Sorry Cheryl, but JD isn't in the same class to me as the other three rockers left in the competition. YMMV, but that is how I feel, wrong or right.

Cindy, Dawn, and Liz (BG), You all took the words right out of my mouth (or off of my keyboard)! I will not be voting to eliminate either MiG or Toby--they were my favorites after Marty (along with Susie), and I don't want to see either of them go this week. As far as JD--there is no way I will vote in a way that would keep him on. I didn't like most of his performances on the show--in fact, some actually made my skin crawl, and I don't mean in a good way. I didn't like the way he treated others on the show--he blatantly used people, lied, and took advantage of others. I thought it was poetic justice when karma came back around to bite him during a certain Queen number. His work ethic was horrible, and he seemed to feel that he could slack off and still get a free shot at the gig because he had some vocal similarity to Michael Hutchence. I went to a taping of the TV show, the one where Marty smashed the blue guitar ("ELECTRIIIIIIC!!!!") and got the most votes of the final 4 to go unchallenged to the finale. I was standing down in front of the rockers' platform. A group of us Marty fans had written messages in Sharpie on our hands to encourage Marty--things like "I (heart) Marty", and on my hand was "MXC #1!" We held up our hands when they all got to the platform, and Marty got the biggest kick out of that--he pointed and threw back his head with delighted laughter and surprise! Well, during the rest of the show, JD took it upon himself to leer smugly at us, and try to "eye-f*" us, like a creepy guy across the bar who won't leave you alone. The opinion I had of JD up to that point was only reinforced by that behavior. Also, like Cindy said, the JD fans were so nasty to Marty fans, which didn't help their contestant any, and has continued to have lingering aftereffects in terms of how people still view JD and INXS. MiG's and Toby's fans have been good friends to Marty fans, and I've had the pleasure of meeting lots of MiG fans at his shows in Chicago last summer. When I went to shows on the LH/INXS tour, I tried to stay for INXS, because I liked them back in the day, but I just couldn't take more than 3 songs with JD. The mic stand licking and humping was so revolting to me that I had to leave. It looked like something a female stripper would do, and it totally put me off. I don't think INXS will ever play to stadiums again, because they didn't pick the one frontman whose charisma and magnetism matches that of Michael Hutchence. (Of course I mean Marty.) Marty's voice, while different than MH's, could have really brought their sound into the present in a most intriguing way. It would have been quite exciting to hear, but they weren't up for taking that risk. Once I discovered Lovehammers, I am thankful that it turned out the way it did. If they felt like Marty was too much of a change for them vocally, I wish they had picked MiG. I would be a BIG fan of INXS right now if they had hired MiG, and I would have really enjoyed their shows. I'm glad to see MiG having success doing his own thing now, too, so it's all good. Toby--I felt he was better than Supernova, so I think he ended up better off, too. He seems like his shows would be a lot more fun than SN's.

Hey Babes! Vote with your hearts - wherever that may lead you. I would truly expect nothing less.
All I wanted was for you to consider my request, and you have, so I'm happy!

NancyBBE, you bring back so many memories. I had almost forgotten about the LH/INXS concert in Chicago in Feb06. After the LH left the stage, my DIL and I stayed to listen to JD/INXS out of respect to INXS for taking care of Marty and the boys while they were on tour together. Neither of us cared for JD's performance. We left after a few songs. In March06, when we Street Teamed the LHs before the INXS concert in Indy, we had a great time watching the opening act, but did not stay to watch JD/INXS. Based on performance, I have a feeling JD will have my vote. Den

I think the thread over there RE: multiple votes is getting pretty heated and a bit harsh. I wasn't even aware of that site before this contest started and it seems some are slamming us and the MiG fans for not being more active in its forums.
I agree with those who say you can only take so much from people who choose to treat you poorly...that will influence many of our decisions, of that I feel sure.

it seems some are slamming us and the MiG fans for not being more active in its forums. We have a lot of different members with a lot of different opinions, and we don't always agree! We started this game to have a good time, to rediscover some great performers, and to hopefully encourage people to write to CBS about another season of Rock Star. At the time, with the writers strike a possibility, it seemed like perfect timing. Most of us don't care one bit where you post or where your home forum is - if you vote, then you're participating in the game your way, and we're happy with that. And I'm speaking as the owner of RBL and also as an active participant. But we do have a few squeaky wheels that would prefer things were different. And that's okay, they can have their say. But just know that those posts do not reflect the attitude of the majority of our members, or of me personally.

Nowhere on earth could you have that many people getting together without some...ummm...how to say...criticism of groups different from their own?...It's a free country. As for myself, the recruitment has been the old fashioned way - through the boards and e-mails to friends. I do see what the others are saying about the "big families" syndrome...I have abstained from voting in that poll, respectively. I see both sides of the coin on that issue.

Big families? Hee hee--I haven't even come close to registering all of mine! I am one of 7 kids, and I have (at current count) 22 nieces and nephews! Then factor in the in-laws, cousins, aunts, uncles, etc, and my family could make up an entire voting block. ;D Then there's friends.....
Like I said, I haven't even come close to registering them all.

My vote has been registerd - Mig & JD were tied. I'm pretty sure if JD does go - his fans will vote out Marty. I'm so pleased that I am not the only one who feels the way I do about JD - I saw INXS only last year - he seemed to of toned down the licking of the microphone but it was a good show. I think JD is a good performer, just not my cup of tea at all. (Wow - how British does that sound!) As for being more active on the boards, I don't have time! I'm usually over here during working hours and when I get home, I generally don't want to get on the computer. If some people want to not approve of that - then good for them! Anyway, I'll get down from my soap box now. Keep voting everyone

There is no voting out after this elimination vote today, dawn. The next two competitions, only the lowest vote getter is gone. So you can't effectively vote out anyone on Sunday, because if all of the JD fans vote for say Toby to stay in, Marty can still come in second on Sunday and go to the Final show.
