I've left reminders at lhstore.com, lovehammers.com, and the Sisterhood.

Can someone who regularly hangs out at snark leave a reminder there? I never got my info on the fan club. I thought I had signed up ages ago, and tried a number of weeks ago. Got one e-mail, but never got the second one it said I was supposed to receive *sigh*...I did what I can.

"Someone" has put a VIRUS in the Banner/Bulletin that is being circulated this morning via MYSPACE promoting The Ultimate Rockstar, Vote for Marty. When you post that bulletin, or a fan replies to this bulletin, your account IS CLOSED IMMEDIATELY, LOCKED.

TO FIX THIS: Simply follow myspace directions to UNLOCK your account, by changing your password. THEN immediately DELETE that banner that is being used this morning.

You CAN use other bulletins to promote this, just NOT the one that was going around this morning, has a lot of cool pictures of Marty, link to Rock Band, and says Ultimate Rockstar.

Some a**holes think it's funny to put viruses in for other people. but we caught this SOON, so hopefully all will be good.

Any questions? Ask Myspace for help, they should be helpful also.

Oh my. Have you gone through where it says: Go HERE to UNLOCK your account? It's a direct message FROM Myspace that alerts you, you clicky on that message, and change your password there, no where else.

If that doesn't help do this:

1. cuss
2. contact HELP on Myspace, they will help you.
3. cuss again.

Ok, I checked. You have to go where it says to UNLOCK your account. Changing your password will not just do it, you have to also UNLOCK it.

I did it. I just purposely phished my own account...LMAO And then I unlocked it.

1. Change password
2. THEN go into the area it says to UNLOCK account.
3. cuss
4. Report back here everything minus your cuss words.

RF, I am battleling the same thing here, no matter what I do I cannot unlock my profile. I have changed the password at least 6 times and I continue to get the same message.

I'm sorry ya all are having a hard time.

When MY account was locked. A message appeared in the area where messages pop up at. It has a direct link in that box to UNLOCK your account. I've purposedly locked my account now 2 times, and I've been able to UNLOCK it following those instructions to a tee within that box that Myspace provides for you.

Use a BIG hammer?
I'm truly sorry that this has happened on such an important day for voting, BUT I'm also happy that it was caught soon enough to save many more people from getting affected by this problem. I hope you get it fixed soon yes!!!!

I guess my last beating with the sledgehammer worked. So far my account is behaving........for now.

One question I have about those bulletins is that if you click on it to go to the Rockband Lounge site, is that when you get phished?? Can you just leave the bulletin there and not click on it without any problems??

I've gotten several of the same bulletin from different people but most of them actually sent it themselves. I'm just not looking/clicking at any bulletins today.

I'm so confused .

the PHOTOBUCKET image of Marty Ultimate Rock Star, is phished. DELETE it immediately from your myspace. If you reply to it, you'll get phished. If you look at it, you'll get phished. If you smell it, you'll get phished. Phishes stink.

Gail has now a NEW banner that is up and functioning just perfectly now, and can be circulated to help promote Marty's victory today. It's safe, and secure to share, smell, look at, and to reply too. LOL

Just don't use the one from earlier today, I wish I had the picture, I'd show it if I could. It has a lot of Marty's pictures on it, says "Ultimate Rockstar".......is no good doll.....

Thanks Nancy, you've been a huge help with this since what like 7:00 am this morning. And so very true we caught it early enough to not have every hammerhead go through this. I guess I was the crash test dummy on this one, lol!

Anyway, I think I have found the solution to fixing this thing. Another person sent out an email regarding the same problem and a suggestion. Here is what she wrote: - if this happens to you - reset the password as it requests. At that point you have no other option. Immediately following - once your account has been unblocked - go back in and change your password normally. This should help avoid anything malicious.

I tried it and it has seemed to work, I was able to send out a bulletin after doing this. RF, give it a try.

Okay, now I'm really confused . I am not looking at any bulletins. When I got the first "bad" one, it was from Gail (early this morning). I'm now getting more of the same looking bulletins from peeps. When I delete the bulletin, it deletes them as a friend as well and blocks them. That's the only way to delete bulletins.

I don't click those bulletins anyways to get to the site. I have it saved as "favorites" on my computer and use that.

I have to look at the bulletin in order to delete it so I'm getting hit with a triple whammy phishing scam?

I think, as was previously mentioned, that when Marty took the early lead, some may have thought he was safe and tried to keep Toby in by voting for him rather than Marty.

RF - Only delete any bulletins YOU have sent, leave the rest alone, you do NOT have to delete those.

CORRECTION UPDATE ALERT

DO NOT use, look at, or reply to or smell, or ANYTHING to any Photobucket image ON MYSPACE today. They are ALL bad. Just don't take the chance, and don't reply to any bulletin that have an image attached to it.

PHOTOBUCKET at myspace has been compromised. I'm sure they will fix this soon. but as is right now, all images coming from PB is phishy.
