Even though I don't own an ipod I bought a copy from itunes anyway. Not even sure if it will play on my regular stuff....haven't even tried. But hey, it is only 99 cents, so gotta support our rocker. Let's all go download it and move the song up in the rankings. I am going to go buy it again. You can play it on your computer. And you can burn it to a CD.

Interesting...in iTunes, Trees is categorized as a Pop song. On the Pop section it is #10 (although you can only see that if you click on Top 100 Songs, otherwise it says Hollaback Girl is #10) and Jordis is #17. If you go to the Rock section, you'll find the picture of Marty for the single-Trees and Jordis is in there also. However, their songs don't show up on the Top 100 Song chart for the Rock section, Pretty Vegas is #2 there. On the Home page Pretty Vegas is #8 and Trees is #47.
I don't know if it all matters, but I think it's a little screwed up.

I know what you mean; I just looked this up myself and can't figure out why Marty's picture shows up on the ROCK page but not his song Trees. Personally I hate the "pop" moniker, I personally think Marty R O C K S!!!!!

I was wonderin' about this when I saw it listed there. Does it matter where it is? Never mind.. I see I am a moron and you guys have already discussed this. Well add me to the confused pile.

I was finally able to d/l Trees to my iTunes. Apparently I had 5.xx version and needed to upgrade to 6.whatever.
Anyway, the "new" version is nice...pop-ish. But not what I expected. This definitely isn't the version from Lovehammers but I don't think it's a RS version either. They've added synthesizers and audience clapping at the end. Or at least I think.....what do you guys think?

It's the first version from the show. There was always a synthesizer in it ... and, compared to everything else Marty did, it is sorta pop. But I'm glad it's on iTunes. You can also download "You Really Got Me" from there.

What is go great about this is "Trees" didn't get any press notice. Obviously, there are a lot of fans out there who know good music. Hope it breaks 20 soon.

Even more interesting is that the LH cd MOMM is available at iTunes and also listed in the Pop Genre. Huh? The RS version Trees is sort of "Popish", but MOMM? What I wonder is, is it harder to get higher up on the Pop vs. Rock genre chart or vice versa? We really can't compare how well Trees vs. PV is doing because they are listed in different genres. Was this done on purpose??? If so, why?? Those are my musings for the day.

Didn't realize MOMM was under POP.....wonder who determines what categories songs/albums are put under.

Hey, Conducted, if you're still out there ... "hi" to you, too! I'll keep looking for your posts and maybe we'll be online at the same time.
Are you going to the Avery Fisher show?
