I'm sure it's going to be an awesome performance, wish I was there 2. My daughter just got out of the hospital with a total knee replacement, she's 17. Her only wish was to get out soon enough to see Marty live in concert, and then I read that the concert is sold out. We live in Southern Illinois, and I would of drove that far for her to see Marty, and of course, for me to get my Marty fix as well, what is 8 hours when your babies only wish is to see Marty. She's hooked, and I'm hooked as well. She says her dream is to move like he does again, as long as she still has that hope. Maybe he will be in our area soon. Got to get tickets early I guess. See ya all later

I hope someone can sneak a video camera in there or at least a good digital camera so it can be downloaded on this site. It would be the next best thing to being there.

Hi Everyone,
Just a quick note to anyone who is fortunate enough to go to the concert today! Have the best time ever and enjoy it for all of us who can't make it. Get whatever pictures, video you can and we want full details upon your return.
Enjoy!!!

Opening for Jessica Simpson? Sorry - that's lame.
Marty doesn't strike me as being anywhere NEAR that category of music.
I suppose he'll reprise HMBOMT tho.

Regardless it's for charity and he DOES strike me as the type to give his time for something like that regardless of who the headliner is. It wont' be long before he is teh headliner anyway.

I have to admit that when I first found out about Marty opening for Jessica Simpson, I groaned--- that's mainly because I still have issues with her playing Daisy Duke (I'm a big DoH fan) but I'll save that for a different message board.
I totally agree that it's for charity and he won't be the "opening" act for much longer! You do have to wonder how much Sony had to do with setting it up.......

He sounded GRRRRRRRRREAT!!!!!! I am on a high. I didn't stay for Jessica Simpson. Autographs were directly after The Lovehammers set. It was lush to be that close to him. Didn't get the autograph , as I don't prefer to trample and push on 5 lil girls in front of me. Just as I got up front, I tried, but then he left. That sure made up for the lawn seating though , which wasn't that bad. I have never screamed that loud in my life. Still on my high, and need to eat. Later everyone. I wish everyone one could've been there. I do. Best Regards, dreameraloft

No Dave there. They sang Better Off, Tunnel, Call of Distress, Rain on the Brain, TREES, Mr. Brightside accoustic (rocked!!), and The Riddle. Cant remember the rest. My brain is fried and its late. He looked awesome..black shirt. black pants. I posted some really bad pics on the Lovehammers thread. I got them off the screen. I too was on the lawn...wayyyyy back from the stage. Marty came into the audience at one point. The 8yr old girls didnt get it. I did though..just wish I'd been closer so I could have gotten myself a handful of goodness. He was great..LH were great. Loved it. I also missed an autograph by literally a minute. THey left just as I got to the front. Oh the heartbreak....

Oh thanks for the update on tonight's concert. Pictures were great. I am so envious of those of you that got to go. I am a bartender on the weekends here in Los Angeles and a few times tonight while I was working, I was wishing I was at that concert instead of slinging drinks. Thanks again for the update! Thanks for the info on the concert. Bet he (and they) were great. Wish I coulda been there. Could you give the exact link to where you posted the pics? Couldn't find them on the Lovehammer's message board. Hope you got some rest.

Hmm, audly, I don't understand. If it was for charity, then how come it was free? Were they donating the sales of t-shirts and cds or something?
Do you suppose they'll get him to open for Britney next?
I suppose the experience might also come in handy for him when he's facing a JD-centric crowd opening for INXS. Although, in that situation, the chances are better there'll be a lot more folks there to see him!

It's my understanding the benefit concert was sponsored by local Chevrolet dealers. The tickets had been pre-purchased by the dealerships and they chose to give them away. Thus, the concert was already "paid for", but a nice freebie for those attending.

Thanks, Amy.
Alison, it's just kind of odd. I would hate to see Marty marketed in such a fashion continually. Next thing, they'll have him doing a whole album of Britney & Jessica & Xtina covers just because he made one of their songs cool.

Well, I guess from a business perspective it's good to get one foot in the door so to speak. The important thing for Marty and the LH now is to milk the RS show and get as much exposure as possible. So today it's Jessica Simpson and tomorrow the world....
