Wasn't it awesome anajat1?? Glad you got to listen...hopefully someone has recorded it! Marty was just talking about how he & Jordis co-wrote Pretty Vegas...and about there might be a pre-world tour (w/ INXS)

WTMX does a podcast of the Eric & Kathy show, so I suspect it will be available a little later on the WTMX website. Sounds like Cindy is trying to get a link for this site too though, so let's hope that works out! (Thanks Cindy!)
If you didn't get the chance to hear it yet, I'll try to remember the highlights.
It was a really fun interview. Marty answered several questions about living in the mansion. He said he's very "not Hollywood" and that he didn't know who some of the stars were who showed up at the mansion parties. He'd just recognize a face and have to be told later who they were.
He said he and Jordis were very tight, but that he got along quite well with J.D. He said J.D. never messed with him and he thinks it's because he avoided drama by going to J.D. with anything that was on his mind and being straight and honest with him about things right up front.
He said he hasn't had time to read fan mail yet, but that his family - particularly his parents - are enjoying it a lot. He says his family gives him "the highlights" and that there are a lot of nice and freaky people out there. He laughed as he said this. LOL.
He mentioned some of the offers he's gotten. He's gotten some movie scripts and someone was asking him to potentially score a movie soundtrack.
He talked about being very concerned about what was going to happen to the Lovehammers if he won the INXS show, but that if he had won, he was going to figure out a way to bring them along too.
Dino mentioned that he really didn't want Marty to win and they all laughed about it. Marty said he knew Bobby didn't want him to win when he showed up at the finale taping in Hollywood wearing a "Pretty Vegas" t-shirt. (Not sure if Marty was joking or serious about that, but it was funny.)
He joked about how he and Suzie met. It was something like --
Suzie: "Hi, I'm Suzie."
Marty: "Hi, I'm Marty."
Suzie: "You're voice is all messed up."
He laughed that barely 2.5 seconds after meeting him she was telling him he was all messed up. Hehehe.
He mentioned again that he is helping Jordis write material for her new album.
He said that he and Jordis co-wrote Pretty Vegas.
Said the hurricane benefit Saturday night was great.
He did an acoustic version of Trees, of course, and it was fantastic!
That's all I can remember now. I really hope the Eric & Kathy podcast is up soon. You'll love this interview.

This was one of the best of the interviews I have heard with him lately. It is full of interesting info.

Hello to all...I'm new here, as of today. I've got no profile down or an avartar yet. Some of the avartars here are really neat looking. I missed the radio show, but I was reading a post that said that Marty and Jordis help co-write Pretty Vegas. Does anyone think that Marty was joking around that he and Jordis had helped co-write Pretty Vegas? If Marty wasn't joking around... does that mean he and Jordis get some of the royalties from that song? Just curious.  |

No...Marty was not joking about co-writing PV.
He was asked, "So does this mean more $ for you?"
Marty replied, "I guess it does" (or something to that effect!) ;D

I just checked BMI & ASCAP no reference to Pretty Vegas anywhere. No songs by Jason "JD" Fortune either. INXS primarily uses ASCAP they have 80 songs listed with them and only 2 with BMI. One would think since the single is being released tomorrow that it would be listed but maybe takes awhile for songs to show up.

So Marty and Jordis should be mention on the credits if the Pretty Vegas cd comes out huh? I think that's great that they will be able to get some money in their pockets. I know that I like to have money in my pockets, all I ever pull out of my pockets is lint. ;D

WTMX also replays the Eric & Kathy show at 9pm (Chicago time) every night, so you should be able to tune in tonight and hear the Marty/Dino interview too if you didn't hear it this morning.

Well if you recall actually that song originated from the clinic where they had to collaborate to write a song to INXS's new track. It was the one where JD stormed off and did his "own" thing, but he in fact used some of the original lyrics that Marty and Jordis had come up with (uh, what about Jessica? Didn't she help too? anyway....). So yes, in fact they did cowrite that song. That's why I was amazed when he was allowed to use it for his original song when they all had to do one, and that he got such accolades when in fact INXS wrote the music, and the lyrics were co-written by several of the group (although I guess they were allowed to co-write anyway, as ty did help Deanna). |

I currently have the link up to the podcast of todays show posted on the front page of the site....but that is a 25 min. version of the highlights of their whole show. I am working at the moment trying to just get the Marty part excerpt edited and posted......
