I wonder if INXS wanted to limit Marty to an INXS song he had already done in order to keep people from comparing Marty's version of another song to J D's.

I would love for him to do NIN's 'closer'. can u imagine marty singing: i wanna f**k you like and animal/i wanna feel you from the inside? that would be the hottest thing ever!! I'd let him do that for sure! I agree...that would be scorching hot!!! He's definitely got the level of intensity required to sing it  |

Hi Everyone,
I would love to hear Marty sing any rock song at this point. But if I would have to choose, I would have to say I would love to hear Marty sing "Lightening Crashes" by the Foofighters or I would love to hear him sing "Black" by Pearljam. I was hoping while Rockstar aired that Black by pearljam would of became a choice and that Marty would fight to do that song. But I did enjoy Creep by Marty. He did awsome in that song.

That is so true Isa. I ve been doing the same thing. I loved Marty's voice in Everlong when he took it down and deep. Whenever I hear songs on the radio, I think to myself wow, what if Marty sang that song! How would he bring that song to life?

There have been a few songs named on this thread that make my heart beat a bit faster esp. 'Fame' by David Bowie - such an intense song it would suit Marty completely. There were a couple I just can't see him doing esp. 'Puff the Magic Dragon'. I like the song but I can't imagine Marty liking it. Someone mentioned Marty singing Christmas songs and I must admit I keep thinking about Marty doing Christmas tunes. I know it's silly and I can't imagine him really wanting to but since I like Christmas songs so much I've been trying to find some for him. 'Winter Night' by Gordon Lightfoot is more of a lovesong than a Christmas song and I can totally hear it in Marty's voice. 'Your a mean one, Mr. Grinch' would be fun to hear too. Marty could make it his own in a very different way than the jazzy one that's out right now. A number of the slow religious ones that aren't too popular would be nice too. I know he won't record Christmas songs, but I like it when he sings them just for me.  |

Marty can nail every song that he would attempt to do. I have so much faith in him!!! I will absolutely buy every piece of Marty stuff that I can afford. Ebay stuff to rich for me. A Marty christmas cd would be perfect. Watching the Lovehammers DVD and seeing the whole group in action was great. Any CD they make will be awesome!!! Why did it take me soooo long to find out about them?  ?? AAARGGGGHHHH!!! |

I agree with Isa, Marty can nail every song. But as talented as Marty is he can breathe new life into christmas songs by writing his own with the lovehammers.

I really can't pick out a song coz i know Marty can do it all on his own way. & that's what captured us all, being himself & not trying to impersonate somebody else...like Elvis..  :(LOL

since seeing Marty perform "take me out" I ve been listening to allot of Franz Ferdinand and I would love to hear him sing more.
Same with Nirvana he totally nailed lithium and would do right by other Nirvana songs as well
anyone heard of a song I think its called "wish" by Pearl Jam?? I don't think it was very well known and I haven't herd it but a few times I thought that it was simply beautiful song, Id like to hear Marty sing that

I heard WYWH by Pink Floyd on the radio. Ummm Marty sounds alot better. That Pink Floyd guy sounded so rough. Martys sounds powerful, like the song needs to be, but soft, smooth, and mesmerizing.  Marty makes you feel like you are floating on a cloud. I am the same way. I never heard Mr Brightside or Take Me Out before Marty, but have since heard the originals & Marty blows them away. I have a friend who is a singer & he will start to play & sing Wish You Were Here & I just want to scream "STOP, you are ruining Marty's song". |
