Marty was wearing these cool shades on the TV Guide segment. It looked like he wore the same ones during the concert at Tinley Park (see photos). Has Marty gone Hollywood on us?
During RS:INXS my hubby asked why those guys were always wearing sunglasses indoors. I told him it was a rockstar thing. Hmmm . . . now the new shades make sense.
Rock on, Marty! Just remember not to cover up those baby blues ALL THE TIME.

Nah, I don't think he went Hollywood...not just yet... . He might had party hearty the night before, might be Marty isn't use to those big lights that are used for outdoor/indoor interviews, it could be that he is really tired and has that puffy-eyed look, or it might be like you had mention... a rockstar thing. Yeah, I miss those eyes too!

Maybe he's like Bono, and has sensitive eyes.

I have very sensitive eyes (a condition to daylight and lights in general) and wear sunglasses in the winter, I dont always wear them inside. I dont think its a "Rockstar" thing at all, but if people want to view it that way, more power to them.
Dont know what Mr. Casey's excuse is.

My mom wears her sunglasses all the time...until she can no longer see with them on, and part of it is cause they're prescription and partially cause it saves her from squinting from the light all the time - she says squinting too much makes the lines around your face show up faster (I think she's right, she's 40+ and has almost no lines). Maybe Marty wears the shades for those reasons? -In the show Marty occasionally wore eyeglasses, maybe the sunglasses are prescription? Or maybe he's trying to prevent himself from squinting all the time and thus looking like an idiot...either way it may be helping him continue to look young, which is always good.

He definitely had a blond Bono kind of vibe going with the shades and the stubble. YOW!!! He looked sooooo cool in that clip. So confident and self-assured. It was really good to see!

Yes. I have presription ones myself that I always wear outdoors because of the light sensitivity. I was just kidding about the "rockstar" thing. It was just funny to me because OB always wore them during the show (most of them anyway), and my husband made that comment. He was wearing the same glasses during that concert at Tinley Park, though, and it looked like it was dark outside. Does he usually wear them while performing? Anyway, I agree, he has that cool Bono look going on. Since he's going to be as big a rockstar as him someday, he may as well look the part!

"i wear my sunglasses at night..."... No not really!! LOL!! tookskye...listen & do as your mom!!! She is always right after all. ;D I have blue eyes...and have always been sensitive to bright light. Light colored eyes are usually more sensitive to light...as fair skinned people are who are prone to burn quite easily ( me again!). Here is a little thing I found online about this: “Occasionally, a patient will complain of light sensitivity, for which no logical explanation can be found. Most of these individuals tend to be fair skinned, with blue eyes. The treatment is the judicious use of tinted glasses to relieve their symptoms.”I also am convinced that because of wearing sunglasses so much and avoiding the squinting thing...that I am not getting lines around my eyes either... so Marty..keep those shades on when you want to...save those beautiful eyes and keep the wrinkles away too! Be sure to let us see those eyes from time to time too though....either way, you can't go wrong!! p.s rockbeast...what color are your eyes?

I went to a concert once that was being filmed (video or tv - I don't remember) and the lights were so bright it made me ill. When I get famous I too will wear sunglasses! ( I wish I could afford the ones Marty had on the other night. Those were nice, but at close to $100 I know I would lose them sooner than the $20 ones!)
How will I get famous? hmmmm I'll think of something. "Woman grabs Marty Casey in the park. . . details at 11." or "Older woman kissing bandit (sporting cool shades) gets Marty Casey in the street."

hey rockbeast....
thanks for answering....seems the theory is holding up since you have "sky" colored eyes....cool...
Every time I head to the beach...it is with a case of sunscreen...two umbrellas...three pairs of sunglasses (in case I lose any)....can't be too careful....not into burning or squinting.....
oh, and thanks for a peek at your baby blues!!

Not me! I love that song but HATE Fred Durnst and the entire band "Limp Dipsh*t". I cannot stand Korn, Disturbed, P.O.D. Blink 182, and legions of other mall core moshing crap. I do like some System of a Down and Deftones though!

Oh...you're cooler than me ...I generally like most those bands (though I really only like limpbizkit's last album "Results May Vary" - generally hate Durst). I'm young...don't have much taste...I'll generally stand for anything that get's me jumping up and down. --One of the many reasons I love the Lovehammers...the totally get me pumped. Though there's some hope for me yet cause I like System of a Down (can't think of anything by Deftones at the moment so I can't speak on them)...Waddya think of Metallica? --Either way I'd love for Marty to sing something of theirs.

Love your little line at the bottom of your post Rockbeast...Straight as an Arrow, right? LOVE that song..my personal fav You really don't like Disturbed? I loved their last album..haven't heard much off the new one. Ever see Metallica live? Me & hubby have seen them several times starting in 1988 but quit going since the prices have gotten outrageous
