One of our local stations - The MIX (with Eric and Kathy) is running a contest "Who Do You Know" where people try to get famous and nearly famous people to call in - the celebrity gets $5,000 for their favorite charity. The person who got them to call gets $5,000.
This morning one of those who called in was Marty. He said he had been getting tons of calls from people trying to get him to call in. He finally did it on the request of his brother Chris. They asked him if he had been up all night or just got up early to make the call. He said he got up early. He is in LA, he and the Lovehammers are recording an album due out on Epic January 31st. Said they are filming a video of Trees at the Metro show the night before Thanksgiving. That Dave Navarro is working with them on an acoustic version of Trees. (much laughter when asked if Carmen Electra has been hanging around). Said he hasn't seen "that Perry guy from friends".
He said everything just keeps getting crazier and crazier, it is not letting up and that he is homesick for Chicago and that he will be home for a few days over Thanksgiving and a few days over Christmas.
After he hung up the DJs said "fame couldn't happen to a nicer guy."
I hope Amy is able to get a copy of this. He sounded so sweet.

Cindy you may be able to get it from Eric and Kathy. It would be really worth it. I was listening to it sitting in the car waiting for my train and he just sounds so darn sweet. Every time I hear him I realize what a genuine guy he is.
It was at about 8:08 a.m. on 101.9 the MIX. I know Kathy has a blog on the website and she does answer people who comment.

Thanks so much for the recap! It's great to hear new news. The comment from the DJs after he hung up is really sweet. Perhaps his brother Chris will be buying him a nice X-mas present for the $5,000.  |

OMG! I Can't believe this! Im so sorry I missed this interview...but I emailed Doc McGee and begged him to have LH film TREES video at Metro! I am gonna be there to see the video being taped....OHHHHHHH ***THUD****

Good for u Mrs. Since I was stupid and didn't order tickets (and Marty did tell Eric and Kathy the show is sold out, but he'll get them tickets), I am hoping I WIN THE TREASURE HUNT CONTEST - LOL.
He is so darn cute in interviews and they obviously like him.
The contest runs through the end of this week and the winner will be announced next week. So far they've had a lot of White Sox players, Jerry Reinsdorf (Sox owner), Melissa Etheridge, today they had Jessica Biehl, one of the former Bears players and a bunch of others over the past 2 weeks. So hopefully everyone will decide Marty was the best and he and Chris will win.

OMG!!! I am melting right now. How sweet and cute is he?? I could just hug and kiss  him he's so darn beautiful. I hope someone can put this up I really want to hear his angel voice. Woohoo  I am going to be at Metro for this!!! I think, I hope. Msd2k...ok we have to look our best for this one! do you think we'll be in the video??? Maybe Marty will stick the mic in our face! |

Nancy, yes they read our emails!! How cool is that? Sweetcheeks, I hope Marty doesn't put a mic in my face because Id probably grab his arm and pull him onto the floor with us. Although would that be so bad? <big grin>

::)Awesome!! The next couple months are going to go toooo sloooowly waiting for the new album. Looks like the concert for many of us will happen before the new CD. Just when we're all bummed out because the concerts are over, we'll have the new CD to look forward to! There's always the next concert! Hope they come back this way again next year to headline !!! |

It was the cutest interview ever!! I listen to the MIX every morning, but normally I would be on the train on my way to work after 8:00 a.m. It just so happened that this morning I had to drive to court in the suburbs. I was so happy to have heard it! I guess this solidifies the fact that Epic signed the Lovehammers since it came right out of Marty's mouth!! So bummed that I am missing the Metro show.  |
