I think at some point we all felt the same way, like we were the only one's feeling the way we do..But alas, it is not to be..None of us are alone. This is the best place to be to share in the marty love!!! My husband asked my the other day what my thing was with this guy, and I lied, I told him it was because I like the music. Well not totally a lie, I do love the music...and the eyes, OMG those killer eyes!,(I'm having a huge internal squee), the hair, the voice, the personality, the 'sex on legs' (whoever said that hit the nail on the head baby, couldn't have said it better myself), the moves, the WHOLE package. He is in my head literally ALL day. The boys are all I listen to, no matter where I am, home, car, tub, sleep, everywhere. I'm so glad I found all of you, people who are just like me.

Just to reinforce Airjorg's comments a little (and yes her quote is real and comes from the Jan 19th concert *grin*).. Didn't know what LH was all about till I returned from Iraq... She would talk to me about RS and Marty's performance... and still wasn't all that enthused till we went to the concert... I LOVE THEM FELLA's!!!! Marty and LH ROCKED THE HOUSE!!!! First live concert I actually ever went to in my life... (and I'm older than dirt)... and was totally blown away.. not only by the music, but my Marty's showmanship... his magnetism with the crowd.... and even more so when we were able to meet and greet them all.. one at a time... so personable.. and so humble as to want to thank everyone that came to see them... I listen to them from the computers in our office... short or long trips in the car or truck... And even starting up something that will hopefully help the Street Team efforts... I usually keep a wide venue of music... but it seems to be narrowing down with each CD of M&LH enters the house here...

I have a full, full life, too. But Marty and the Lovehammers have made it sweeter. Not only am I hooked on Marty, but I'm hooked on his fans too! You guys rock! I love reading the posts. So many crazy talented funny sweet rockin' people. Hmmm, much like Marty? Have a marty-full day! I completely, totally agree!!! I work, have a 3 year old and husband who keep me hopping, and a college degree. You'd think I have more important things to do. But...There's Something About Marty! Over the past 5 years, I let the fun side of me slip away while I attended to the adult responsibilities in my life. When I started watching RS:INXS half way through the season and discovered Marty, he sparked something in me that had long been dormant---my music. I've listened to music over the past five years, but never really got into it-until I found the LH. They just woke that part of my soul. Not to sound all sappy and stupid, but ...you know. And when I found out that they had this website/message board, I was like, "You CAN'T be seriously thinking about reading this crap" But you guys are the greatest! It's great to know that there are fans out there that are as crazy as I am about LH. THANKS A MILLION HAMMERHEADS!!!!!!

I think the fun was missing from my life, some heavy tragedies the past few years, and the Lhs filled that fun part of me back up. Thing is, I need even more each day..lol I'm phobic about flying and am actually thinking of flying somewhere to see them--what an incentive to get on a plane!

It's great to know that there are others out there the LH "woke up"! I hear you gingerpyle about needing LH in larger doses. I have all of Marty's songs that have been released from the show on my MP3 player along with MOMM and MC&LH. I'm waiting for my Raw DVD, and to hear word about L'Strange. I can't get enough. I listen to them constantly!!! I wish RS:INXS would 've released "Everlong" too. Unfortunately, I have to replay it on my VCR (but, I also get to see him then, too) I tried to download it off of the RS:INXS website, but fo rwhatever reason, it wouldn't let me. But anyway... Good luck with your airplane ride.

I think living 'life in a coma' pretty well describes it. lol Waking up to the beautiful Marty Casey, kinda like, wow I swear I can smell roses. I had forgotten how beautiful life can be. Marty exudes such passion and enthusiasm for life that is contagious. Marty's passion in his performances, his sincerity when he speaks, and when he smiles...well...that was it for me. I think he is magical. ;D Sharon

I was skimming through some of the other postings on this thread, and it got me wondering...is anybody here under the age of 30? I'm not asking in a mean way (I'm 37), but did we all come of age during the 70's and 80's? I see some of you were 80's metal heads and 70's hard rockers (I was a 80's New Waver --- The Cure, U2, Violent Femmes, Jesus and Mary Chain, etc). It's just really cool that LH seem to have found that music inside of us again. Found the rockers and music obssessed freaks that we used to be before we "grew up". Found the inner teenager (only smarter). Maybe since Marty is a Gen X'er like most of us are, he hits a chord with us. I know I was living life in a coma before he came into my life trying to live a life that didn't suit me. He gave me the courage to be me. Just another thought, he is a very intelligent person, very articulate which is probably another reason I like him. JD sounded like he was an idiot. Most artists nowadays (especially rap artists) can't string 7 words together to make a coherent thought. He reminds me of Bono onstage and off (except the whole save the world thing). Very personable, very well spoken, very thoughtful of what he says and how he says it.

As far as age goes . . . I really feel Marty is attracting our generation because that's how far he's gotten himself. It takes time and experience to get that deep inside yourself and gather wisdom and knowledge. He puts everything he has learned and knows out there when he performs . . . and we, who have lived long enough to recognize it and understand it . . . are instantly drawn. That's not to say that younger people don't see it too, but we know it is rare to find someone who understands what we understand, knows what we know, and feels what we feel, and is able to deliver it with so much energy and fire.

Franny,
You are so right.
As far as ages go...while the perceptive younger generation may see what we see in Marty...we know what it is.
They may feel what he gives to his audience, they may hear it in his voice but we know what it is. We recognise those feelings, those experiences and we remember too. Marty is still only 32. We have been through many of the things that he has but are further along in our journeys. Our hindsight has more range as it were. So we see clearly, feel truly what he is sharing with us.
What blows me away is the insight and perception that he has. How he translates the things he has learned and experienced from his life into deeply felt, beautifully constructed and thrillingly delivered songs.
I love how he does that.
We are of an age where we have learned many of life's lessons, been through a few mills of our own...and we see this man, hear him sing of those things with depth and, paradoxically, simplicity and we love him for it.
I love how he puts it all out there, the rawness and immediacy of his performances, the honesty and reality of his lyrics, the rhythm and melody of the songs.
Energy and fire...yes Franny...also presence and hope and truth.

Franny and Palari, You've said things that I have been thinking for quite some time. And so eloquently! What amazes me is that he is so far along in his evolution at 33. Much further than I was at his age and I am a very introspective person myself. I can't think of any band who's lyrics touch me the way Marty's do. And along with so many posters here, I had let that fun part of me slide a bit. But the fun is back and I thank Marty and Lovehammers every day for it.

I also feel like so many of you. You all rock. :)I was hooked the first time I saw Marty on RS. Marty has woke me up from a coma, that I have been in for many years. I have NEVER felt this passionate about a rockstar before. I feel like a teenager again. Marty has brought me back to life. I am loving his music and can't get enough of him. My kids 10, 8 and 4 also love Marty.

:DWell...as a 54 yr old "Grandma" of 4 Marty Casey & The LoveHammers have truely brought this Grandma back to life in a good way I have a work & life Schedule that I sometimes wonder just "How" I do it ???BUT I know that my day now starts with the LoveHammers & ends with the LoveHammers ::)I do Private In-Home Care & Hospice ( have for over 30 yrs... ) and right now the job I have is taking care of a 84 yr old man ( whom I took care of His wife back in 2001 when she was on "Hospice" & his children asked me to "Promise" that I would be there to take care of their Dad when the time came ) The 1rst week I get up at 5am...leave home at 7am to drive to work & get home at 10pm...the 2nd week I usually work there 24/7 ( do "Alot" of reading & crocheting etc especially during the 24/7 shifts ) I switch back & forth between the different shifts. Then...there are afew days a week every now & then when I get to work 4-6 hrs a day...this is when I get to go visit the Grandchildren & my Girls. I have 5 cats at home & 12 Aquariums so they get neglected alot but seems to get by. They have someone that looks after them but just miss the care I use to beable to give to them. I leave often 2 hrs early in the mornings ( even tho I can drive to work in 30 mins sometimes...) so I can go park by the ocean there in Depoe Bay & listen to my LoveHammers CD. I turn it on as soon as I get in the SUV & don't turn if off until I get to work. I am planning on getting the rest of the CD's & DVD's as soon as I have the time to order them. Their Music has made such a difference in my life :Despecially when things get tough to deal with I don't get alot of time to come on the Boards but once in awhile now :'(I did tho get my Bumper Stickers & am waiting for the other ones so can "Proudly" put all of them on my Explorer. Had 187 E-mail(s) I hadn't read, answered etc 2 days ago but have had "afew" 4-6 hr days at work so tonite "finally" was able to take care of all of them. My life is hectic but have so much energy when I listen to the LoveHammers and will NEVER forget their Concert ;)as well as meeting them & taking pictures w/ them ;)so to ALL of the Rocking "Grandmas" on here ::)ROCK ON :)I can't wait to find a Bumper-Sticker tho that has their Pictures on it

:I found Marty's sweetness during the show, combined with the intensity exhibited during his songs, completely riveting. I too had something wake up in me that I completely forgot about. I just wish he did not have to go as far as wearing his pants really low, because I think everyone was attracted to him even before he started doing that (as a matter of fact, I think he was the only one on the RS show who did NOT take off his shirt).

Believe me, I like seeing him in those pants

Ladies & gentlemen, totally get your feelings here. We are no longer spring chickens in this world, neither is Marty, but I think none of this (or at least half of it) would be happening to any of us if Marty had actually WON the INXS gig, because he would be the champion, and not the underdog that he is now (on this tour at least).
I think fans of the show feel a little robbed, I mean what was INXS thinking??? He's good, he's brilliant, and he wants to be in your band, why not choose him? He did EVERYTHING you asked of him, and he STILL doesn't get the gig -- WHAT??? As a result I think we so desparately want him to succeed in ANYTHING he chooses to do in this life. Of all the crap reality shows and reality "stars", Marty was the only TRUE person who came into our living rooms three times a week. And for me, to have someone so good of a person as Marty is, to NOT get what he clearly wanted (otherwise he wouldn't have been there), it was highway robbery! I felt completely cheated. So -- I think in our own ways we have an obsession for giving credit where credit is due. Not that we LOVE him like we're crazy for him (insert Madonna tune here), but because we feel he deserves all the happiness this life can give him and we want to help him as much as we can (he's lucky to have us!) At least that's where I'm coming from....
When I met him in DC, I grabbed his hand and said quietly "I have nothing for you to sign and I don't want to take your picture. I just wanted to meet you and say Congratulations on all of THIS stuff and that I couldn't be happier for you. Best of luck to you in this life Marty. Good things happen to good people, and you guys are good people." I squeezed his hand and in his gentle way he looked me in the eye and said "Thank you" and squeezed my hand.
I felt good just being able to say that to him and go on my way...
