It means that Marty is an adult and makes his own decisions, even ones that aren't the best health-wise.

Does not tarnish him in my mind what so ever. I do not smoke, that is my choice just as smoking is his. It doesn't have a thing to do with his talent or his personality so it seems. I have my faults and do things that aren't necessarily healthy for me either. Beautiful man and from what I have read a very decent caring human being.

Don't think Marty is a chain smoker. He once said every New Year he tries to quit....lol Know how he feels.

Yes, Marty smokes. He stated in a previous interview that it is always his new years resolution but never achieves it. Think he has a little more on his plate right now then quitting.

Quite a few of the people who have met him (and kissed him) have said that it isn't obvious that he's a smoker so I have a feeling he isn't smoking a whole lot right now.

In the days of celebrities going to rehab for drugs like cocaine and etc., smoking doesn't seem so bad. It's not good for your health, but it is legal.

Having hugged Marty, I can say he smelled nothing of smoke. But he did indeed smoke on the TV show and may well do so on occasion. But the guy oversees their guitars, Randy, told me that the guys are all health conscious and are out there running most mornings. So, moderation seems to work for him, for now. Just please don't mess up those fabulous vocal chords Marty.
