What a treat to read! Thank you for taking the time to make such a wonderful web page for us to share. That fresh energy that Liz spoke of is what my husband and I have come to call "getting hammered" - cracking the old shell away and discovering new sparkly things underneath. It is so great that it's happening to all of us!!! Thank you to Marty's family and all who create and maintain this awesome page!

That was great to read! Marty and I have something in common: we are the babies of the family and are 12 years apart in age from the oldest to youngest! Thanks to all who participated!

This Q&A is really, really terrific. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.
Thank you to the Caseys for sharing your experiences, memories, and perspectives with us. Thank you to Amy and, by extension, Cindy for producing this interview and for everything you do for this site. And thank you to franny for articulating so well (as you always do) the thoughts and feelings that I and probably many others share.

Isn't that the most precious thing you have ever seen? I was just so tickled that Jen sent it to us. When I saw it for the first time, Amy and I were on the phone just squeeing about it. LOL! We don't squee too often...but that one is def. squee worthy!

Oh, Amy, that is a terrific picture. I got all teary eyed. One of my favorite parts of the Live: Raw DVD was when Marty said they were going to take a break and visit with all the kids at the concert --- "the future rock stars". Marty obviously can look people of all ages in the eyes and make a special connection.

franny2,
I TOTALLY agree with you. When I read the quote from Liz, "It's like -- stop, you can do whatever you dream of doing, opening up new hope in the future. Don't accept life as it is if it's not everything you want it to be already. You can and should still dream and make those dreams a reality. " I said THAT IS IT. That is why I am so drawn in.
It was a great interview to read.

Wow! That really was a special treat. I have reactions and comments to every question and answer in there, but I'll spare you most of them. I will allow for a few though, starting with one that made me laugh: How do you feel about the somewhat obsessive and bizarre behavior of some of the new fans out there? Does it scare you, or do you think it's funny?
Liz: It's amazing. We're obsessed too. Who asked that question anyway? That would have been mine, but I would have phrased it more like How do you feel about MY somewhat obsessive and bizarre behavior . . . And I absolutely LOVED the answer We're obsessed too because there really is no other way to describe it. I just love that they're so proud of him. And also Liz's description of the CREEP performance . . . But still "Creep" sticks with me; the build-up, his absolute I'm going-for-it intensity, and his whole soul in that "run-run-run-ruuuunnn", and that "and I don't belong...here"--straight into your eyes. I was just blown away. It still gets to me just thinking about it. Shit--he is just such an awesome performer. I miss seeing him on the tube because of those performance moments that a camera can better deliver to us all.Now I don't know why it surprised me that Marty's family saw it exactly the same way we did . . . maybe because they know him so well and we were only looking at a stranger? Now I'm thinking perhaps we weren't looking at a stranger after all . . . . And as for Liz's LAST comment . . . In what ways (positive and negative) have your lives been impacted by the aftermath of Marty having been on Rockstar: INXS?
Liz: It's like -- stop, you can do whatever you dream of doing, opening up new hope in the future. Don't accept life as it is if it's not everything you want it to be already. You can and should still dream and make those dreams a reality. It's given me some youthfulness back somehow. I'm dressing different, I got a Suzie streak in my hair, and it's completely renewed my interest in music again. (Instead of listening to my professors' lectures on tape I crank the Lovehammers' tunes, Marty's Rock Star tunes, the radio) My middle son, and I talk about music together now--it's a shared interest. We are going out more, socializing more. I became friends with my cousin's cousin because of this experience, and she is a wonderful new friend that I keep in touch with. I can't even describe how that made me feel . . . uh, Liz, that's exactly what happened to MY life! Renewed interest in my dreams, new energy, new movement, new meaning, NEW FRIENDS THAT ROCK BIG TIME and finding I can't go back to the way things were before . . . anyone else with me on this one??? So this just makes me feel like I'm not going off the deep end, Marty really shook things up for everyone in a big way INCLUDING HIS FAMILY. . . just by having the courage to walk his own path. That just touches me . . . One man can make a difference . . . so true! I'm really starting to love that song. Franny--RIGHT ON! I couldn't have said it better myself. He's even affected his own family like he has the rest of us. (Well, maybe not TOTALLY like the rest of us.... )

My co-worker Shawne went to Lincoln City the 2nd night (I got her her tickets) with her hubby and she was a JD fan, well she was won over by Marty and the Lovehammers, she said they were awesome and that Marty was way cuter in person than on T.V... whatever that means
LOL
But I guess marty's uncle was there and she met him over by the lost and found booth. He was wearing a sweatshirt that said "I am marty's uncle' and marty signed the shirt, "to my uncle so and so, I got my voice from you...Marty Casey"
