I noticed the All Stars right away on RS and though how cool they looked. I've seen a lot of them around the city recently. They are a great alternative to all those athletic shoes that I am really getting tired of. And when I was lucky enough to see Marty at the Mercury Lounge a couple of weeks ago, it was the All Stars that convinced me it was really him.
Maybe we should start an email campaign pitching the idea to Converse, and send pictures of Marty wearing them. They'd be nuts not to do it.

That actually sounds like a lot of fun - gathering photos of Marty in his Converse shoes! Maybe we should brainstorm some way to put it together. I have no idea where we'd send it. I'll do some investigating.....

Before we get carried away, let me get contact at Converse first and approach them as industry person! I'd like them to take me seriously before we get all fangirly. It will take about a week as my colleague who has the info is actually here in HK on biz, so when she returns, I'll get it.

chk,
I was wondering if you were a night owl, because of the time stamp on your posts. Now it makes sense! Your idea of approaching them as an industry insider is perfect.

Good idea, Marty would make great converse ad's. I think we should send emails/letters to the converse people.

Good idea chk BMC (before Marty Casey) I never owened a pair of Converse, I now own 6 pair. Sharon I love chucks, have been wearing them long BMC ;D I started wearing them before I met my husband in the early 90's, and alternated them with various doc martens.......sorry i'm reminicing..... so my current converse collection includes black chucks (low), flowered hi-tops, lime green low no laces, brown velour hi-tops. My favorites are the black since I can wear them with anything, even long skirts to work (preschool) and the flowered ones cuz I've never seen them on anyone else. but sometimes the other PTO moms look at me funny!

IMO only true chucks are cool!
