WOW skynetrp, I am here now and I am getting goose bumps another marty but on guitar could life get any better! to answer what you asked earlier Audioslave is a awsome band of todays rock. Oh God, I really hope that what I said doesn't sound bad. I am not using Marty's talent as a comparison or a stepping stone or anything. I just think that we are both on the exact same page and heading for the same things in music.....hmmmmm............let me rephrase what I said earlier..........my passion and creativity on my guitar is as soul felt and hard hitting as Marty's vocal passions for his music. There, that's better.

I, too love the music. I am so glad when you said that disco reared it's ugly head up. I died laughing reading that. Because it is so true. Disco should have never been. I am a rock girl through and through. I am glad that you talk of music from the 70's and the 80's. Hey Sky, who are your faves?

COOL! have u seen LH live? I think you will SO dig them! gotta say i agree with most of your sermon! do you think anyone else will join this conversation or is this thread gonna be just for you and me? Yes, I just saw them live at the Memphis In May Music Festival. Unfortunately, they didn't sound so good, please go and read my new thread under "Tour Talk". What the heck, I will copy it to here: Hello! I live in Memphis and I was on the 4th row at the Memphis In May festival for the Lovehammers concert. Now, don't get angry at what I am about to say, because I love this band and I followed Marty all throughout the Rock Star INXS competition. But their concert left me feeling empty and unsatisfied here in Memphis, and let me tell you why before you kill me. They evidently didn't get a good sound check because their volume was so darned LOW that I could easily hear their stage monitors over the actual PA......no kidding. I went to the sound man and asked him why they were so low, and he told me that all they had to do was ask and he would have given them a good sound check and turned the volume up.......I just don't understand that. It made them sound "thin" and it just didn't ROCK like it should have. You could barely hear Marty until he started screaming all the vocals so he could hear it I guess, which hurt his performance. It wasn't just the Lovehammers who sounded bad, one of the main Memphis attractions "Egypt Central" was thin and weak too, but not NEAR as weak as the Lovehammers sounded because their overall volume was brought up a good bit, but STILL not at "rock concert levels" by any means. As a matter of fact, the only band we heard that sounded right was "Buck Cherry"........man they sounded GREAT.........obviously got a great sound check because they were VERY loud. ballanced, and clear and heavy without killing your ears. BUT......BUT......BUT.....the lead singer had a very hard time hearing his monitors for the first 3 songs, and we a hard time hearing him too. But after that it was perfect. The sound just moved your soul and you had to jump up and down and clap....it was ROCKIN!! I want the Lovehammers to know about this problem so it won't happen again to them. I am a professional musician, so you can trust what I just said. Marty, I still loved you guys, but man, did they hose you!! I still want to work with you on your solo album. Skynetrp, I wish you the best of luck, like you need it. Just thought I would add in my two cents since I had a moment from work. I have been reading what you are writing, but I have not had time to quote. Anyway, rock on, and the bands you listed are great!!!! Heading out to Poison and Cinderella on August 16. Hopefully it will be good, but I am sure it will be, Love em'!!

Hey Skynetrp, your commentary is much appreciated & refreshing! Thank you for posting & sharing your expertise. All of us here definitely share your enthusiasm about Marty (although, as a Mod I can tell you SOME people go overboard... 8-)hee hee, just kidding) Please let us know how your musical career revitalization goes! I'm sure you'd have a built in fan base here at mc.org! And, if you get a chance, please see Marty & Lovehammers again - they are a phenomenal live act, I have been fortunate enough to see them in a large concert arena, a smaller theatre, a small music clubs (Viper Room), and even at the Hard Rock Cafe. Luckily none of those venues had sound problems like you experienced...so check 'em out again! Marty, Dino, Billy, & Bobby are ALL awesome guys - come get to know them! You should get your HammerJam tickets and come hang out with a huge crowd of all Lovehammers fans...the energy is fantastic! Cheers! ~Jodie p.s. welcome grateful, hope to see you come out of lurk-dom again!
