I recently listened to the Sisters' interview with Marty, and one of the questions they asked him was how he felt about having to sing HMBOMT. I started to think: what iconic song would have been even worse?
I'll start ... MacArthur Park

This is probably way too obvious, but honestly the night he got HMBOMT - I said 'at least it wasn't Stand By Your Man'! That would have been unbearable.

Oh yeah, definitely. How about "These Boots Are Made For Walking"? How about "Pump It" (Black Eyed Peas)? Marty would probably hurt himself trying to dance and sing that one....

"Mickey"! Holy s**t. But only if he had the pom poms.
And I think he would have quit the show if they had asked him to do "Like a Virgin" ... that really is too, too funny.
"Crocodile Rock" by Elton John

"Mr. Bojangles" ... yikes!
Actually, I could almost hear Marty doing "I will always love you" but more the way Dolly Parton intended it, not the way Whitney did it. You know, simple and stripped down. Maybe with him stripped down for artistic emphasis.
How about "Man Eater" by Hall & Oates?
