Blah Blah Blog
Current mood: awake
Yep, I am really doin it. I am blogging on MySpace. I am pretending that my life is SOOO important that I should tell everyone about it. SO if I get this right, a blog is a diary entry. Same thing...Just made available for viewing by the general public. Please know that you are not general to me. I'm the general. I am slightly controlling. Anyway, I know this because all of the angels and gypsyies and crazy pop art pictures you attach with your messages. Are those flying angels representations of yourself or are they just for fun. I am still kinda freaked out by them. Ohhhhh Wait, they must be for good luck. In that case thank you very much. Man this blog/diary thing really does help you figure out what the hell is going on in this virtual world.
Let's talk pop culture. So I have been in LA alot lately and a large group of people here are trying to look like they are from New York in approximately 2002. You know, nice clothing but kinda grunged up like they have been walking the street in Soho in the dirty winter. Hair is oily and slick. These comment pertain to both men and women. I enjoy the slick look on the ladies. It's kinda refreshing to know that they could be as unkept as me and the band. A relief actually. Next topic, stick with me...........Leg Warmers. Is this for real? I know the 80's are in but that is a direct rip off of the 80's and that is not how it's done. You have to madernize the old look. Members Only jackets: No F'n way. Blueblocker sunglasses: YES!!!! Stonewashed jeans: You Betcha! LA Glam Rock: Hmmmmm, I'm not certain I have an answer for that yet. I did see LA Guns, Faster Pussycat, Ricki Rackmann, Jetboy, Bang Tango and Lemmi from Motorhead with Gilby Clark play last week. It was pretty damn solid. But, maybe the re-revolution of metal should be a new breed. The band that actually rocked it and stole the show was LA Guns. They put a modern twist on their classic sound. What is certain is that the gear and the girls at the show were a spectacle. It nice to see that some people never actually changed their style and stuck with it for 20 + years. I have had the same style for at least 5 years so in 15 more years it will come back around. Then I will be damn cool once again! Can't wait.
So my blog is coming to a close. It has been a enriching adventure into and out of my psyche. It has made me more psycho and only to be viewed by the psychotic. Please let me know what the heck else is going on with revivals. It's on a need to know basis. I need to know. Consider it research.
Be Well,
Marty
