I think that you all see something that you see inside yourselves that you want. The thought of the man that understands your crazy mind. Marty Casey I love it when someone can understand my crazy mind, interpret it, and manifests it into a unique story repleat with emotion, angst and fascinating lyrical understanding that completes the process. Bravo Mr. Casey...cuz nobody else dares to go there. It's why you are the frenetic genius that you are.

I think that you all see something that you see inside yourselves that you want. The thought of the man that understands your crazy mind. The song lyrics tell a story that you have been through. We are all looking for the answer and find it in the least likely places. Most would say, "Come On, that guy from the Rockstar reality show". But, when I look back I don't even know why I was there either. What is the purpose of all of us coming together? Why is it such a strong bond? I have talked to others that have been through the identical experience but why is our bond so uniquely different? Freaks me out at times. Well, I am gonna believe in it cause every time I have doubted it, something has come back and slapped me in the face. Why are we all so strong minded and on the same page at the same point in time? None of us have ever done this before... Marty Casey Well, Marty, the mere fact that you showed up here, read this thread, and responded the way you did says it all. It's why you are a "performance artist" and not just a singer/songwriter. You are asking the questions that all true artists ask. Why do we create? What is it about art that people respond to on the most fundamental level? What was it that hooked me right from the start, and keeps me hooked over a year later? Why are we all drawn together like this? And don't think for one second that you don't act as the catalyst for it. It may not be all about you, but it sure as hell wouldn't happen without you. You're right about RS ... you were in a different place as an artist from all the rest, and I think that was obvious from the get-go. There was something "otherworldly" about you ... a man with a vision, with a lot going on in his head ... maybe you look back and don't know why you were there, but I guarantee you that you have thousands of fans who are very grateful that you were.

My first vision of MC was at the Chicago theater in Feb. 06. Didn't know who he or the Lovehammers were. I was hooked within minutes. I remember the intense feeling and my awe at this amazing band and that wild lead singer. I spent the whole time watching that "other band" --can't remember their name, and wishing the Lovehammers were on stage. The rest is history.

Sheer Intensity!! at first -- then it became so much more -- He evokes the feeling that I am sharing an intimate moment with him with every song he sings - it comes through the tv, it comes across in an audience full of people no matter whether you're in the front row or the balcony - it has made me feel that he is connecting directly with me and pulling me in with his passion for his music. He has re-invigorated and re-shaped my love for rock music - and how integral a part of my life that music is for me. Through my excitement about Lovehammers music, I have pushed my limits and done things in the past year that I otherwise wouldn't have done (like fly to Chicago for a Concert!!) I think that you all see something that you see inside yourselves that you want. The thought of the man that understands your crazy mind. The song lyrics tell a story that you have been through. We are all looking for the answer and find it in the least likely places. . . . What is the purpose of all of us coming together? Why is it such a strong bond? Why are we all so strong minded and on the same page at the same point in time? None of us have ever done this before... Marty Casey That's what keeps me coming back - he's insightful - he is a catalyst for change (you are so right, UandMe & wendy) - he has led me to friendships that I treasure with all my heart that I've made on these boards. Well, Marty, the mere fact that you showed up here, read this thread, and responded the way you did says it all. It's why you are a "performance artist" and not just a singer/songwriter. . . . I so totally agree, wendy -- always love to read what you have to say! CJ Oregon Coast

Wow, what a question. I would have to say I watched Marty on Rockstar and was enjoying his style, but honestly, I was so intrigued with the way he carried himself, always stayed true to who he was and at the same time found a way to incorporate the feedback the judges gave him. Then came Creep, and I was blown away. Each performance got better and better. Another thing that I kept thinking to myself was how amazing this guy is to step out of his box and take the chance. Marty, I believe this goes back to your comment about us seeing in you something we all want in ourself. You have inspired so many of us to take chances in our lives, brought back a love of music that many of us lost, and catalyst for friendships this may be where our bonds lie. As for in person, my encounters have been brief, but he has a way of making you feel so special in those moments.

His passionate intensity, the way he put every fiber of his being into his song delivery. Yes, that's it for me too. His passion, intensity and energy - so much energy into what he does. Also, his patience with his crazy fans. Not that I know any of those

Deep passion, the kind that gives one drive and courage. The bond, I think the bond is so strong because of the depth we sense in each other. I always sense it in you. And I sense in the others I have formed relationships with because of you. Why, I believe we were all where we were supposed to be for it to happen this way. Your destiny our destiny, I believe it was meant to be! Sharon

I have heard others say "Marty changed my life." Not to diminish his role in the whole process, but isn't it more likely that You All changed your lives and he was the catalyst that brought it to the forefront. That is impressive to me...that Marty could impact so many of us in a positive way. Very well said, U!

My first sight and sounds of Marty Casey was when I was flipping around the tube after another ho-hum night of television nothingness when I saw this dude on stage with no shoes standing like a statue......I thought........what the hell is this!??
So I kept the channel on...............and lo and behold............I Alone was performed..........a performance that to this day I would consider to be one of the most unique musical performances I've ever seen...........and that is what it was..........a performance........
My first thoughts as I was taking in the show was.......holy crap........who the f*k is this guy?
He's amazing!!
I immediately knew that this was no ordinary fellow...........he was something special...........destined for bigger and better things.........
I also knew.......at that point in time..........my life was about to change...........and it did...........
I don't have to explain to anyone what I'm talking about..........I guess the only real difference is that I'm a guy and have a slightly different perspective on why I am a fan........
Which I won't explain............but no squeeing from me...............EVER...........lol
To me it's all about the music and the performer.........It's a ride.......and I'm not getting off any time soon..........
Thanks Marty............it is you and the guys, and your music that are the catalyst for giving us all something in common........and a common purpose outside of our normalcy.

From the moment I saw him sitting alone on stage with a blue guitar singing an acoustic version of Mr. Brightside, to the first time I saw him on stage at the Metro a year ago today, to Hammerjam where he told an incredible winding, twisting story during Bulletholes then stood silent looking out at the crowd connecting with everyone in the room. Impressing me over and over every time......
Marty- you are an amazing performer! We are all very lucky to have met up with you in this moment in time.

Having met Marty both through his music and in person, one of the things that makes a huge impression on me is his ability to maintain his mystery... to keep me guessing...and anxiously awaiting his next move.

"....why is our bond so uniquely different? "
...because you, Marty, are uniquely different. Beyond your gifts as a songwriter and performer, you've been given the opportunity to redefine what it means to be a rock star and we're all just here to help you do that.

I scoffed at Rockstar INXS, never watching even if I was prodded to. But as fate would have it, I saw Mr. Brightside and for the first time... after a long, long time... I FELT music. The song was alive and it was real. The intensity and passion with which that song was delivered was repeated again and again... and I welcomed the refreshing yet intoxicating feeling that came with each performance. You have a gift Marty, and it is so powerful that it has transcended age, race, time... distance. I LOVE that you don't care how you look... nor care what other people might say... you are just true to your craft. Through this boards I've come to know more about you, the Lovehammers... and the kind of following that you attract. And the more I know, the more I become convinced that I am right about you.

Marty's just a nice, normal guy and the way he interacted with the children in my life when they ran up to him after a concert made a huge impression on me. He put his arms around them, stooped down to talk to them, and spoke very kind words to them. He made them feel very special; I will always respect Marty for being so good to his littlest fans. Did I also mention that his music is pretty good, too?!?

I know what you mean Chicago, he was so sweet to my little daughter, she gave him a picture of herself and he said sign it and we will keep it in our tour bus, she was so cute, he was so sweet, I was just melting inside!

Of course I was amazed with watching him on RS, but nothing compared to meeting him for the first time in person It was 11/23/05 at the Metro. I just happened to walk into the merch room, and there he was! I was in AWE! I giggled like a school girl with my friend. And when it was my turn to talk to him, I just stood there DUH! Thank God he brought me back to earth. Anyway HE introduced himself to me (like he really needed to do that) and we had a few minutes of conversation. He just blew me away with his sincerity and appreciation! Marty is genuine!
