Happy Thanksgiving Marty

I'm not sure if here is the place to reflect, but this day conjures memories of my first ever Thanksgiving...

Thanksgiving is not an Australian tradition, but I was fortunate enough to be in Hawaii on this day last year.

I stood in the street, the Esplanade in Waikiki and watched the high school marching bands from all over the US do their thing, complete with Pearl Harbour veterans, who I had the honour to meet the day before while visiting the memorial.

I remember thinking how extremely thankful I was to be visiting such a magical part of the world with my sister, my youngest son and my nephew.

Tonight I sit here and reflect again. Yesterday was the ninth annivesary of Michael Hutchence passing into another world. I will never forget that day...as long as I live it will be etched into my memory as will the memories of his music and the men who were his mates. He has been with me since I was twelve years old...and even though he's gone, I always smile when I think of him.

On this day I am thankful that INXS decided to do a reality TV show, even though I cringed at the thought.

Everyday since the day I first saw you on the show I am thankful that I opened my eyes and watched, because you have given me so very much...

I thank you because...

...you have given me Palari and I will be forever thankful for the genuine and loving friendship we have formed. I never dreamed I would feel such a strong bond with another woman.

...you have given me smart and worldly miss sozl, who makes me laugh and forces me to think.

...and in two weeks, I am going to Melbourne to meet the awesome women I have meet in the Ausgals thread here at the org.

I thankyou because you have made the world a much smaller place for me...

and because...by my discovering you, my love for this world and this life has been reignited

I am most thankful that whenever the craziness that is my life starts to overwhelm me, I can listen to Lovehammers songs and/or come to the boards and very quickly a smile returns to my face and I know that it will get better once again!!

I agree with everything posted here. Marty, you and Lovehammers have given us so much in such a short time, it's unbelievable really.

We now know people in Hong Kong and the Philippines, for criminy's sake! You did that, Marty! Every day I catch myself wondering what else you could do. I was watching a movie last night (part of Lord of the Rings) and thought 'Marty could play that part better'...sheesh, when would you find the time to use all that talent you were given and still be sane? (I am wondering if you also paint... ;D)
And after all this, you still have time for your fans. I love you and LH to pieces and am thankful every day that you came through that Rockstar screen and helped us find ourselves, all the parts we'd lost or didn't know we even needed to find--before you.
