The intricate ramblings of a artist...like a blanket being woven into the purpose of life. Always interesting to read. Thank you Mr. Casey...

Would I be the only one who thinks it odd that it be suggested he was drunk when writing this blog? And that it needed to have more substance? Why does it have to have more substance or be all about thanking fans? JMO put I thought it really cool that he took the time to just visit with us a bit with the stuff he thinks about. I think that is one way he shows us he appreciates us by taking time to share his self with us. I for one am really glad to hear from him, whatever he wants to talk about. just my thoughts Sharon

Sheeesho, meesho - you're right, Marty, Say it loud and way proud. Da Bears in da SUPER BOWL. If anyone has a right to utter these 2 words out loud it's a Chicago Bears fan. 21 years, baby....time has come at last.

That was a fun blog by Marty. It's wonderful that he now feels comfortable enough to show his sense of humor and playful side. I couldn't believe some of those comments some people made, though! And anonymously, too--how brave of them. It's easy for people to slam someone when they can hide behind a cloak of anonymity. If they don't have enough conviction of belief in what they are saying to identify themselves and take responsibility for their claims, then maybe they shouldn't even be saying it. It seems to me that Lovehammers are gaining, not losiing, fans. I don't know why those people are claiming they're losing fans.

Hi Nancy-- I saw the first couple of mean ones last night and wrote back the short ones saying it was unacceptable. I didn't know how to make my name show at the top, and forgot to sign the short posts. Today, I learned how, because of someone named Stacey Mills saying the people that hadn't figured it out were dumbasses, etc. So, possibly whoever wrote all that crap will see that it's not welcome and find another way to express themselves. I've missed you! ginger

I've missed you! [/IMG] ginger
Hugs right back atcha! [/IMG] Marty must be a very patient soul to put up with all the crapola that he puts up with. I hope he also develops a 'tough hide' so that he can let some of that stuff just roll off. There are always going to be people who criticize and will never be satisfied--he will have to realize that he can't let it stop him from being himself. If they are not happy with who he is and what he does, perhaps they would be better off finding another band or artist that's more to their liking, rather than trying to force Marty and Lovehammers into being something they aren't. That would ruin it for all of us who DO like who he is and what he does. Have you ever heard the saying, "People come into our lives for a reason, a season, or a lifetime". Maybe those who want to leave at this time have only come for a season, and now the season is over for them. So be it. Many of us have come for a reason, such as rekindling our love of music, and from those of us who have come for a reason, will come his pool of fans who are here for a lifetime. I do believe I have come for a lifetime. I don't give that level of devotion lightly. Only one other band has ever had that from me, and that's The Who. I discovered them when I was 15, and that's more than half my life ago. I am a "lifer" for them, for sure! My level of devotion to The Who and Pete Townshend was severely tested in 2003 when Pete had to face a legal matter that brought the 'haters' out of the gutters and down on his back in a most terrible way. During that time, I always defended him and his character, including writing an essay in his defense that was posted prominently on the internet. I believe it helped play a part in showing the public that he was not the bad guy that the British tabloids tried to make him out to be. Ultimately, he was cleared of the charges, and has resumed his career. For me to have written that was in no way 'sucking up'. That was showing support to someone I care about when he needed it most. It's easy for some people to be supportive when everything's going well. It's another thing to be supportive when the chips are down, and that is when the support is needed the most. It's at times like that when a person finds out who their true friends and supporters are. I think Marty may now be finding this out for himself. I hope he will always remember those who stuck by him during the down times.

Right or wrong, for the most part I actually found most of the criticisms to be constructive, and coming from a position of concern. On the other hand, many of the so-called defenders were rude, insulting and foul-mouthed...definitely not what I've become accustomed to here. I sincerely believe they did far more harm than good.

p12 I'm stopping from posting over there in the blog comments. I am filled with most days, but that exchange made me and it's easy to lose the focus when in the midst of that. Hope all is well with you......I haven't met you yet, I'm Paula in RL, ginger on here, and I'm usually somewhere around the asylum or the daily trivia Hope to see you again! Rock on!

Hello Paula from Freezing-Cold Chicago I guess on the Bright Side, Marty seems to have 2 Distinct kinds of Committed Fans posting in his Blog: 1 - Those willing to Express what what they feel they are Missing, rather than Jump Ship 2 - Those willing to Defend him to the Extreme I hope they Realize they are Both on the Same Side
