I finally got to talk to Bobby and Billy about the Chicago Music Awards event that happened last Sunday. I was unfortunately stuck on a flight trying to get here for the awards but got delayed and missed it. When I left LA I had not heard any news about the results so for the next 5 hours I sat in my seat kinda restless with anticipation. When we landed I immediately turned on my phone and had several texts about the results. Bob simply stated: WE WON!!!!!! I am psyched.
Bob and Billy told me that it was an interesting event. They said it wasn't very well organized and when they were giving their thank you speech there was a band setting up right next to them so it was kinda hectic and 1/2 the people in the audience were paying attention and half weren't. I give those boys credit for giving what I hear was a good short thank you speech and then partying the night away like the Entertainers of the Year that they are.
I want to thank you all so very much for all of the voting you did for us. I know that the award was based on several categories and on-line voting was one of the points they looked to in determining the winner. I am sure that we had like 10 times more votes than the others because Lovehammers fans are just that awesome. Thank You Thank You! We couldn't have done it without all of your undying support. All of your time spent promoting us and coming to see us and hanging with us is so overwhelming and we consider ourselves very lucky to have such a strong support system. It's really amazing that we all share this unique bond. I truely thank you.
We recently recorded an acoustic track for a compilation album called Acoustic Chicago and it will be out in about 2 months. We wrote it in the studio and they filmed us recording it. The track turned out really cool and the band and I had a GREAT time hanging in the studio for 2 days and being creative.
So, now I am going to watch the BEARS game. What a big day for Chicago. Last week the Lovehammers won Entertainers of the Year and this week we will hopefully have another Super Bowl under our belt. I hope I hope.
