I *really* hope that if they put out a DVD of this show, they will include this song. It's my favorite song by my long-time favorite band, The Who! (Although now I say "my OTHER favorite band" ) By the way, the title of the song is spelled "Baba O'Riley". The Lovehammers did spell it correctly on the set list--good for them! Pete Townshend (main songwriter and lead guitarist for The Who) came up with the title as a tribute to 2 big influences in his life. The "Baba" part came from the name of his spiritual guide, Meher Baba. The O'Riley part came NOT from the Irish name O'Reilly, but from Terry Riley, an early pioneer of synthesizer music. (Google time....) The song starts with a synthesizer riff, and Pete was one of the first rock musicians to incorporate that instrument into an album, on the superb album "Who's Next". (Gotta love that cover photo, too--LH have done their own take on that concept in a photo that's made the rounds a while back.) So now you all know the answer to a rock trivia question.
