Oh Hectic You are such a beautiful friend. It is so hard being a grown up sometimes. Big Girl decisions can be a downer sometimes. Thank god Marty came along and gave me something to fixate on!! So generous of him to make himself available for my mid-life crisis. Such a dear boy. Couldn't you just kiss him all over?

Something that bugs me at the moment is that my in-laws are coming for a visit..... I adore them, however, they are coming for THREE weeks (count 'em). Not one, not two but THREE weeks!! My husband will be overseas for half the time, this is the longest amount of time we have spent together, I'm kind of nervous and well, it just bugs me a bit! Suzy--latebird, How are you holding up with the inlaw invasion? Come out and have a brewsky with us gals, you deserve a break. Hello Hectic Eclectic! Okay so you checked in three days ago.... I have not seen these boards in that long! I've been up late chatting with my father in-law till the wee hours. Tonight he's watching baseball so I finally get to catch up on things. I need to go back and read all the posts. Yes I feel invaded.... I have to wear a bra all day for one thing which really sucks. My Mother in-law keeps moving everything around so I can't find anything.... I'll be in the potty and I hear "Suzanne??? ' "Suzanne where are you? " "I'm in the bathroom " I reply loudly and somewhat snippily. They hoot and holler when I'm trying to put my baby down, I have to cook and clean all of the time.... there is no alone time for me which I am very very accustomed to since my husband travels so frequently. Feeling smothered, yes. That really bugs me! However, they are wonderful people and I love them dearly and they do occupy my children so I can catch a bit of a break. Things will be better when my husband gets home so I don't have to be the sole entertainer. Plus, my husband cooks! Ya Hooooo! Thanks for checking on me Hectic, that was nice. Have a fabulous evening! Now I'm going to have that brewsky, thanks!

I care for my mom now and again & I can relate, it's like having kids as far as the neediness goes, but then they tell you how to run your house. "I think it's about time to do those dishes (as you are still eating the main course)." Gotta love 'em though. After I had my daughter, I had to call my mom and apologize for all the stress I caused her while I was growing up (and she had 5 of us).

So funny Hectic, mind if I call you Hectic? I like that because that sums up my life right about now. Funny you called your Mom to apologize as I did the very same thing with my Mother. I apologized for every bad thing I might have done....then I thanked her for everything she did for me and all that she gave of herself. I also told her that I was now able to understand the vast and undescribable love that she had for me. She was such a beautiful person, sadly I lost her last year.
Bless your Mom for having five kids! We're you the oldest? Youngest? In the middle?

HI Hec... Great minds think alike... Joined at the hip by the MartyDom... You also are in California, where, N or S? I am really floored about how Dubya and Ahnold are getting away with murder (Dubya, literally...I have friends who lost dear ones in this nonsensical massacre of Iraq and who have lost people and possessions in the Gulf disaster). And the terrorism threat and Bin Laden (who's most likely been dead for a couple of years) pop up immediately - I just count to three the morning after and there you go! when the popularity rates go down...Unfortunately I found out that many Americans desperately need a father figure because the media make them live in terror (check all the most popular TV shows here). You must forgive me if I am harsh about this - I respect other people's opinions - but I am an alien, I am a legal alien, Sting would say, and have no voting rights yet, so all I can do is speak my mind when things get too much to handle. I am sorry to hear about this poor woman. I have been put on Advair and I swear my symptoms are 100% better. I am really asthmatic, since the second day of my life. When I see Marty shouting that loud, I feel a pang in my heart. I could never do that. I read you happily too!!! You rock!!

I'm sorry you lost your mom, but I'm happy for you that you had the chance to tell her how much you appreciated everything she did for you. My mom had three kids in three years to the day. I came along 4 years after the last of the 3, and the youngest came 6 years after me. So on a timeline, I am closest to the middle, numerically my second oldest sibling is the middle being #3 of 5. Do you have siblings?

Glad to see you are beep bopping around here Hectic, a heartfelt thank you goes out to you from me. I'm sure glad I got to tell my Mother too. That is one of my many blessings in this life.
I am the youngest of four, two brothers and a sister. Sadly again, I lost one of my brothers in a car accident. He was the same age as my living brother, not twins however, we were all adopted. My sisiter is 7 years older than me and my brother is 4 years older. Geez I'm starting to lose track of their ages.... had to think for a sec!
So your Mom was basically carrying around a big belly for three years straight, it's no wonder that she might have needed a break before you came along! ;D
Do you all get together for the holidays? Your Thanksgiving table must be packed!

I am really asthmatic, since the second day of my life. When I see Marty shouting that loud, I feel a pang in my heart. I could never do that. I read you happily too!!! You rock!! I'm in Sacramento--good thing I don't ever have to worry about seeing Ahnold here . I have breathing problems too. Couldn't tolerate Advair or Albuterol. I use Flovent, which is a steroid inhaler--cringe. I have improved my health 80% by cutting out inflamatory foods--my big no no's are corn, and tomato. I recently cut out beef for different reasons, and had another health boost. Found out later that something in beef is a trigger too for many people. If you find that you develop joint pain try to get off the Advair. I got to the point where I had to use my hands to lift my leg into the car because the joint pain and stiffness made it impossible for me to move that way. Found out from a co-worker that joint pain is a little known side effect. Five days after I quit I was back to normal. Yeesh--it was one of the few drugs I used that didn't cause obvious side effects like insomnia, or virtual narcolepsy. Will you share where you're from?

Hey Hectic, are you still around? Heading into week two of the in-law invasion.... whew, gotta keep my happy face on! My husband is home so things have been easier. How are things with you? I haven't been on here in awhile, been dog tired by the end the day. Just enjoying a peaceful moment by myself right now, enjoying some much needed space. Hope all is well you, guess I'll go and see what's been going on around here.

I just have in the Newbies... The Last Hippie Town in Marin County, Fairfax, house of the famous 19 Brodway clubs where I have seen many a rock act (If I discover that the LH have been played here, practically at 5 mins walk from my house, I will commit SEPPUKU!) I almost did when I discovered that the Breeders had played there, almost unannounced, and they have been one of my favorite acts in the 90s! Luckily I got the Pixies at the Greek Theater in Berkeley shortly after, but when I got up I had a square butt sitting on the cement! No wonder you get breathing problems in the Valley...I have been to Sacramento a coupla times always in the summer and, gosh was it roasting HOT! NO wonder Ahnold always looks like his fake tan is coming off... So you going to Oakland?

Ok, I think I am crazy (at lease that is what people around me tell me).
I HATE HATE HATE someone scratching against the grain of thier pants (especially jeans) UGH!! the noise!!!! I HATE HATE HATE to scrape my teeth on a wooden popcycle stick (why cant they make them out of plastic?) I HATE HATE HATE to close a cardbard box because when the flaps scrub up against one another it makes that noise!!!

When you a tell a student to sign anywhere on their refund check stub, and they ask you, "Anywhere?" DUH!!! That's what I just said. Over 50 times a day it gets so old!!! Sorry it's a rough day at work.
