When I was 43, I was out with a friend who was my age (a tan and trim blonde), her husband who was a couple years younger and their daughter who was 25. I was sitting next to the daughter when the waiter came to take our orders. We all wanted cocktails and the waiter carded me(and the daughter)! It made my decade. Normally, I would put it off to fishing for tips, but he blew it by not asking my friend too, so I figured he really thought I looked young. I still get the young thing and sometimes I feel flattered but mostly now it is a pain in the a$$. But, back then, coming from a very hot waiter, I was JAZZED!

I'll bet you were jazzed hectkeclectk!!! I always hope I'll get carded but never do!! I want to ask "why didn't you card me?"! But then they'll tell me why so.... I don't bother asking. No sense beating a dead horse!
What really made my day today.... I was stranded in a Home Depot parking lot with a broken down (new) car. We were there for two and a half hours, my 20 month old was screaming at the top of her lungs which made my 6 year scream at the top of hers. At that point I needed to scream myself! Then my six year old got something in her eye which opened the door to yet more screaming. I could have used a sedative right about then!
Long story short, my husband left this morning to fly overseas... I called all of my friends, co-workers, no onewas home. Finally I called a neighbor and he said "suzanne you should have called me first, I would have been there in a flash". He made my day, he came to pick us up since we couldn't get a tow. Also, some extra nice guys got under my car and under my hood and tried so hard to help me out. Total strangers helping a person in need. That makes my day!

Right-on. And that little bit of damsel in distress will warm your cockles in a day or 4. My sister and I used to kid about guys doing the Knight in Shining Armor thing. Feats of daring and all that. Women help each other out too, but it is more fun when guys try to rescue you. You should post your car on the Random things that bug you thread!
I hope your kids are OK and you get the car thing fixed without being taken to the cleaners by the dealership or mechanic.

Yah, not so late for me being on the west coast and all. But, I know what you mean. The day is long and full of chores. I only get the chance to post after most people have gone to bed.
I think guys like it when girls look like $#!T It denotes a level of intimacy. Ever see Goldie Hawn in House Sitter? Also, women are less intimidating when they aren't groomed to the nines. I have sworn off men (being a born again virgin) and to stop the madness I quit wearing contacts, stopped wearing make-up, let myself gain 10 pounds, tried to let my hair go back to it's natural color, but couldn't stand the roots thing so gave up. In general tried to make myself unappealing. It didn't matter. I can't even say that only the caliber of men went down, because I have always attracted less than desirable men. I'm not bad looking either 5'8" 130 lbs slender and long limbed with a cumbersome rack (breast reduction is high on my list of elective surgery) and not a totally unfortunate face. I have been told that I look a little like Meg Ryan pre-facelift. I've decided that swinging the pendulum the other way might work better to keep men away--suit of armour and all that. My next phase is going to be contacts back, get totally buff, and never leave the house without makeup.

things that make my day? A hug and giggle from my son the lightbulb blinking on in the eyes of one of my students listening to music while walking on the strand soaking in the beauty of the Pacific ;D

- My 1st cup of espresso in the morning, possibly with a croissant or a sticky bun
- Sunny, brisk, cool weather
- A hug and a kiss from my loved one
- Being able to play and listen to my music
- The book I cannot put down and it's waiting on the bedpost...
Above all...
- knowing that I am feeling good, healthy and counting my blessings.

Oooo, some of your Make My Days sound like my Make My Fantasies! How's this:
It's a clear cold day, holding your first cup of espresso, you stand looking out over the ocean. A flock of pelicans cruise low over the water with surprising grace. The sight makes you smile. Next to your cozy armchair, your current favorite book and a warm croissant awaits. As your gaze wanders farther out to sea, your lover's arms encircle you from behind, "Morning, Love."

Hi Palari , Loved your PM's was going to reply but got hung up trying to configure Instant Messenger. I've been wondering what daylight hours we share! Do you have any IM capacity? I have Google and MSN, I tried Yahoo but had to uninstall because of glitches. I will try again, but I wanted to see if I can make one of the other ones work properly first.

Hi Palari , Uumm, I have a Hotmail address but I am an IM virgin. I have yet to figure out what I'm doing. I IM'd for about a minute years ago. I'm going to try and send something to your regular e-mail. Hang on. I sent an instruction thingy from MSN. If you can get messenger set up and posted on this site we can IM each other--or try to.
