Welcome to my world, I come from a big southern family, so I love to cook. Former owner/cook of a small diner. I read and collect cookbooks about recipes from generations of families. I have a huge collection of older books from the 1900's to 1950's. I love to read Non Fiction, Autobiographies, and just about anything in between. I love Music, Music, Music! I have 2 stereos, and 3 record players(Ok, I broke down and finally bought a CD player last year) I have a huge collection of LP Albums ranging from classic's to Rock and Roll to Country. A lot from 1960's to 1970's. I love my Albums and the beautiful covers on the front. Wish they would bring them back. I go to a lot of flea market's and yard sales looking for them. Music is the first thing I listen to when I get up in the morning and the last thing I listen to at night.(besides my husbands snoring)LOL, I like a lot of candles and incense burning at all times. I collect a lot of vintage Jewely, vintage rock and roll Tshirts, fabrics, hats plates, paintings etc. Im a big time organic gardener. I grow Heirloom vegetables and flowers from seeds I start myself in my home . I have pet Chickens and Roosters, every year I ad to my collection. My husband and I along with the kids built our own log home last year. (It took 2 years to build) We did all the work ourselves.(never again) We are HUGE Nascar Fans. Tony Stewart#20, is my man!( I used to work for Home Depot) But mostly through the years we also lived on the road following our kid's sporting events, 2 kids down , 1 left in high school. Basketball is big with us. Go Detroit Pistons! I love to write and create. And I am OBSESSED with CHOCOLATE!

ohhhh Collections of things is another cool topic.
Would everyone hurl if I told them I collect Elsie the Cow memorabilia? I had an Elsie the Cow bowl that I used when I was a child that I used as the cornerstone of my collection and over the past so many years have gradually acquired more pieces...cups, plates, creamer, planters, baby rattles, postcards, ads, and on and on. I really like the old stuff from back in the 40's and 50's and my kitchen is decorated with much of it.
Yes, I know kinda nostalgic kitschy--but I love Elsie's attitude. Especially when she is standing on her hind legs gleefully dancing around!

Hobbies...not many, really. When I have down time, I like to relax! Obsessions? OH yeah...lol. We have Marty (of course), Bo Bice, Clay Aiken...other music ranging from Country to Metal. Reality TV has become a crutch for me...lol...I'm addicted! I'm also a soap opera fan...As The World Turns, Bold & Beautiful, General Hospital, just to name a few.
I love NASCAR (what's wrong with good ole American blue collar racing?) and am a big Rusty Wallace fan. I'll miss him next year. I also like Elliott Sadler.

My favorite obsession is my family, spending fun time together....then comes Marty, then Marty, then Marty... I love to read and play golf and enjoy collecting snow globes and teapots! I've also recently taken up calligraphy, still just practicing though.

Hobbies/Obsessions Anyone? I love reading about Native history of all parts of the world. Cultural beliefs, spiritual connection to the earth and how different Nations survived over the years. Forms of communication through art work is very interesting to me. The information seems to tell a story of life and how we are all connected.

Hobbies? Oh, I have hobbies. Some days it feels that I have more hobbies than time. For one, I love both graphic and web design. I'm always trying new techniques, and I'm trying to learn new programming languages. PHP still eludes me a bit, but I'll get there. I think. Another big hobby is books. Loooooove books. Love reading, too. I just bought a new bookshelf so that I can fit all my books better. Now I have three bookshelfs in a small apartment. It's getting kinda stuffy here. Then there's movies. I collect them, watch them time after time, and generally just like them. Oh, and I mustn't forget music. According to my roommate, I have an odd taste, but I'd like to think I have a varied taste, not an odd one. I mean, just because I'm capable of liking both Rammstein and Pjotr Tchaikovsky doesn't make my taste odd, does it? I'm going to get a new hobby later this year - gonna sign up either for kung fu or krav maga. I used to do aikido when I was in high school, so I miss doing martial arts. I can't do aikido properly anymore - had problems with my knees - so I figured I'd go and start a new martial art. We'll see what happens in the autumn (that's when the new courses begin).

I think anyone who enjoys 'Polka' music is odd ;D Your music taste to me is Diverse!!

Aww, thanks, Trees. It's just funny how people seem to often mix odd and diverse when it comes to music. I mean, liking polka is odd. Enjoying two different genres (or in my case, two dozen) is diverse.
