I don't have any tattos. I'm too scared to. Even at my age, I think that my father and mother would whip my a$$!!! I do like looking at the tattoo(s) that other people have on their body though.

I have a grim reaper on my upper right arm (not cartoonish I was very careful about that) and an ornate cross with my parents initials on my upper left arm...I'm going to get another one when I finish grad school. I waited until I was 30 before I got any cuz I wanted to be certain. I can't commit to a hair color hahahaha but I'm glad I got mine, even though my dad about had a heart attack and my mom still gives me "the look" every now and then...

Cindy, You must have a very low tolerance to pain to be able to withstand tattooing eyeliner on your eyelids, WOW! I would like to get my eyebrows filled in a bit with a permanent tattoo but what scares me is the thought of them making them too dark and then I'd look like Joan Crawford. Not sure if your old enough to know who she is but you can look her up on IMDB or just think about Bert's eyebrow from Bert & Ernie. The permanent eyeliner things wasn't as tough as one might suspect. As I understand it, who you get to do it makes all the difference. We did a website for a salon and I saw their work and was impressed. This isn't meant to be an ad....but here is who did mine (and this is the website). She was really really good.: gettinggorgeous.com/permcosmetics.htmShe did put anesthetic drops in your eye first, and then some kind of cream that deadens the feeling along your eye line...so it doesn't feel quite like what you would think. I have always hated putting on makeup...especially eye makeup and have always sucked at drawing that line. Once I saw the permanent eyeliner deal, I was like....I want THAT!. I don't have any tattoos because I'm a commitment-phobe. I've considered the tattooed eyeliner thing on my top lash lines ('cuz it would save time in the morning, and drawing that line is nearly impossible before I'm caffeinated), but I worry too much about changing my mind. For instance, what if I had gotten permanent eyeliner when I was 16? I would have to go through the rest of my life with 1/4" black circles around my eyes. (I thought it looked really cool back then.) I suppose subtle and natural-looking would be the way to go... but I'm still skeeeeered. P.S. My best friend has a tattoo of Winnie-the-Pooh on her boob. She got it when she was 18. She's 36 now and poor Pooh Bear isn't as round and plump as he used to be; he's starting to look rather tall and svelte. She jokes that 10 years from now, rather than pulling her top DOWN to show off her tattoo, she'll have to lift it UP. ;D Ah, the ravages of time...

I am going to get the LH logo across my back and "Chicago in old style writing across my belly" LOL NOT Good one. I'm going to get Marty's face (life-size) on my stomach so I can make him sing through my belly button. And then I'll get JD on the reverse, so I can make him sing through my... never mind... (No offence to JD or any of his fans; I think he's doing a great job with OBINXS and he's a fellow Nova Scotian.)

Tookskye - my daughter came home with a "Monroe" piercing. It's where Marilyn's mole was - she has a diamond stud there now. Ouch!

:'(Oh, I know! More ouch for mom though. Her beautiful baby face! Thankfully, new beau doesn't like piercings or tats so I know there won't be anything new in the near future! Now it's my turn. I would just like to stun her for once!

I would just like to stun her for once! By getting a body piercing or tat? ...I say go for it! --Maybe you two could get something done together; my mom and I did...when I got my nose pierced she got her bellybutton pierced (she was, like, 37)! I think she's goin' through some type of mid-life crisis or something

Hmmmm. . .mid-life crisis? I'm thinking of a tatoo, started skydiving (going again next week!) and am fantasizing about a 32 year old blonde angel. If this is a mid-life crisis, it's really fun!!
(PS Is that how you spell fantasize? Doesn't look right and I am no where near a dictionary!)

RayneDove, think about it carefully -- I live in a city where a LOT of women get their eyebrows tattooed because Asian brows are naturally more sparse. That's all fine except that 1) you're stuck with the shape that's tattooed on (and these these are trends) and 2) the color fades to a blue-ish tint that looks not quite right. Sorry to prattle on.. too many years of covering fashion/beauty for the papers not to comment!

:)at almost 54 yrs old...I don't think of Mid-life Crisis anylonger. I just do "something" crazy whenever I have a Crisis period( which usually is on a daily basis : I say..."Go for it" :-[and get BOTH a Tattoo & a Piercing I so want my Belly-Button pierced & the African Natives Tattooed around my Belly-Button :-[BUT at my age there is more "Belly" than there is "Button" ???so not sure that would work...but than would be doing it for "Myself" so who really cares what it would look like to others. Last piercing I got was just 1 yr ago I got my Ear-Lobes pierced...OUCH!!! I would do it over tho & highly recommend anyone getting their's Pierced as is really looks NICE. The guy who did the Piercings was so cool & had like 200 Piercings & Tattoos all over & so NICE as he knew it was going to "Hurt" :-/But..."No Pain...No Gain"

well my tats are so boring. I love the first one i ever got which was when i turned 18. If you are wearing lowrise jean its sits right there on the right side of my hip, its a heart with a ribbon thru it. not too big and not too small. I also have a dolphin with a heart sitting on his nose with him flipping on his tail on the small of my back, and up on my left shoulder i have a decent sized butterfly, it has so many colors in it I can't even begin to tell. And thats it, but the addiction will set in and I will proably get another one.
