I'll go next...I'm 32 divorced no kids and work in the mortgage industry (something I have in common w Marty ;D). I have been obsessed with music my whole life, would like to sing but have mind numbing bad stage fright (the only person I can sing in front of w/out being drunk is my sister). Spent my whole 20's married and then getting divorced, so all my friends are now hitched w. kids and I'm odd "auntie" out. I've finally admitted to myself I am not the corporate type. I want to be a make up artist (I've done make up for people for years and everyone says I should go for it) any make up artists out there can give me any hints? What should I expect? I'm going to a private school in Hollywood to get my certificate this spring... I love reading (mostly biographies), the LA Dodgers (well when we still had a team damn Podesta) all things music, and dying my hair different colors...I've never participated in these kind of boards before so I want to thank you all for being so welcoming...it's nice to have people who share my "obsession" and don't think I'm weird....Also I am of the opinion your never too old to rock. My mom is 62 years old and keeps asking me when I'm going to take her to see Metallica 62 and still wants to see Metallica! Now, she is MY inspiration. Thanks for sharing.

I took her to see Roger Whittaker for Mother's Day a few years ago. Because I love her even if her taste in music kind of sucks.

Hi all, I retired early due to health issues, but I love volunteering and enjoy lots of new experiences that way.
I spend alot of time outside with my dog. I love bird watching and just being in nature and when you live in British Columbia its hard to resist.
Some of my favorite bands are LOVEHAMMERS hee hee, Audioslave, Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Pearl Jam, etc.
Its just so refreshing to have someone as special as Marty to love and enjoy his music and follow his career. He really puts a spring in my step.

Hi Everyone, nice to meet you, and get a peak into your lives. Certainly are a lot of people here to admire from your posts I suppose I will go next then: So, I am 39, married, Mom of 1. I live on the Coast of Washington State in a remote and charming cottage on 5 wooded acres at the base of the temperate rain forest. I am a graphic artist and illustrator and co-own a business with my husband designing and producing custom made talking (ouija) boards and other like items. Hobbies include photography, hiking, beach combing, reading and creative writing, and paranormal research. Passions: (well, other than M.C.) My family, my pets and wildlife, art and music. Addictions: (hmmm, again other than M.C.) Butterfinger candy bars, Vanilla Ensure, cob salad, a good merlot, the internet, ghost hunting, and eBay. ;D Way too many favorite musicians and authors/books to list, but prefer suspense thrillers and hard rock/grunge/industrial music. Well, thats me in a nut shell. Thanks to all for sharing!

Chitownchick - I am 39 too. I can now tell my husband that I am not on this site and LH site with a bunch of teenagers as he puts it. I have 2 kids - 8 and 5 - My 5 year old plays air guitar to Lovehammer songs. He also loves to watch the Marty videos with me. I am a felony prosecutor. My next trial is a double murder - it begins Dec. 1st. I use Marty and LH and my obession as stress relief (hubby helps too) I like to read both crime novels and non-fiction (usually about criminals) I can't wait to see Lovehammers on 12/16!!!!!!!

Oh Bellbottomblues, you and my husband would get along sooo well.
We have an agreement - he doesn't play Joni when I'm around and I won't play my hard stuff (especially the Cult) when he's around. So far it's worked out well! When we were dating we would play a game where he would pick a song that I would have to listen to under the headphones and read the words and vice versa. He would always stick me with Joni. aarrrgghhh!!! You wouldn't happen to be around 49 and from AnnArbor MI? Maybe his long lost twin!

I worked all summer to finish a perennial scented garden nook area. Lavendars, basils, lilies, sages etc. It turned out pretty nice.
Next year I will be adding a blueberry area to the strawberries and grapes. Can't wait.
I use to be into photography. Once when I lived in the Sea-Tac area we went up to Mt. Rainier (sp?) The scenery was breathtaking. We stopped for a little bit near a waterfall area. My friend Vicki was looking up at the sky and some little birds started flying around her. Almost like Snow White...lol...She held out her hand and as a tiny little bird started to land I snapped the picture. Just after that I fainted....lol ...the altitude got to me. That is my favorite picture.
Sherry, sound's like paradise to me. At least you got your beautiful picture before you fainted! LOL

Quote: Im not a makeup artist but one of my hobbies is to try out for locally filmed movies. The last one with Viggio Mortensen was fun but it was very diffucult. I believe it will be the last one for me.
Sherry: What movie did you work on? Was it Hildago? One of the main horses that Viggio rode in that movie was from a horse farm nearby here. Heard he loved that horse so much that he bought it and took it home with him!
Even though the movie was diffucult for you at least you got the experience of working on a movie set and that memory will stay with you forever! Kudos to you.

hey Sherry that is something I definitely intend to do volunteer my time to local low budget movies help build up the portfolio. I"m lucky I live close to LA so there should be plenty of volunteer oportunities...It's hard work but fortunately I'm use to getting up early (4am everyday!) Sounds like you were on a big budget movie very cool wish I had the guts to get over my stage fright, but I think I'm more a behind the scenes person anyway.

Hi everyone, For 18 years I worked in one of Melbournes major hospitals, mostly in the Intensive Care Unit. After that length of time in one place I decided I needed a change. After the Bali bombings and seeing many of the horrifically injured patients and much death I decided to move on. I had seen my share of death and suffering and have now moved to a hospital closer to home in administration. Very little patient contact, no where near as a rewarding job but not as mentally draining. In my spare time, (which is very little) I breed my Welsh ponies, listen to music, watch my fave TV shows, mostly comedy or Sci FI. I have no children (except 4 legged ones), been with my partner Mick for 19 years, love to travel, mainly to the USA as we have friends in several states. Love animals of all kinds and sleeping in, but that is a rarity! Just love going to concerts, always catch whichever bands are in town. Love going to Sunday markets etc looking for bargains. Am mostly an outdoor person. That about sums me up. Fun thread, great to read what a variety of interests, talents and lifestyles MARTY's fans have. Cheers, Helen.

Wow, what an impressive group. Okay, my turn. I am journalist covering Asia for a NY newspaper and freelancing for local rags. I have been in Hong Kong for 15 years, but was born in Chicago (!!) before moving to New York City (sound familiar to anyone?) I'm married with two kids (one of each so I'm done!) Spend lots of time reading (designed the dining room to be a library a la My Fair Lady), going to movies, traveling around the world and hanging with my best friends. After a recent health problem, I decided that life is too damned short to not experience the things that matter. So last spring flew to Chicago for U2 concert, next winter, will do same for MC/LH. Absolutely worship U2, David Bowie, Sting (The Police) and Bryan Ferry/Roxy Music -- all of whom I have now seen live. The family thinks I'm nuts, but they indulge me! Millions of stories to tell... but I'll spare you for now! Best, C

So many interesting people doing so many interesting things..... I am an attorney. I handle mostly plaintiff's employment litigation, including all kinds of discrimination claims (race, gender, age), sexual harassment, whistleblower cases, etc. I also handle breach of employment contract claims, benefits and FMLA related stuff. Watching MC on RS:INXS has really gotten me back into music. I used to be a huge music fan, going to lots of concerts, etc. But I think I just got bored of all the teeny bopper stuff. I am really excited to go to the Aragon show and the INXS/LH show in Feb.

Well, I'm 30 years old. I'm a grad student in Clinical Psychology. I just defended my master's a few weeks ago, so now I'm working on my PhD. A couple more years to go...then I'll probably do some private practice or maybe work in a hospital. I want to work with adults who are depressed and have interpersonal problems. I would also like to do some teaching and maybe some therapy supervision. My family all lives in Ohio so the friends I've met here at school have become like my second family. I have the best friends in the world. Okay, enough of that.
I'm going to the Metro in a couple of weeks and then to the show at the Aragon in December! I'm so excited for both shows. I haven't been to a really good show in about a year so I'm overdue, and I can't wait to see all the guys in person.

Well, let's see where to begin. Yeah kids. I have three. My oldest is 23, (he recently left "the nest"), and two daughters 12 & 15. I've been married to the same man for over 23 years. I'm a stay at-home Mom, guess I'm lucky to always have been. Until this past year I've been selling on eBay, mostly antique and vintage glassware and collectibles. But had to put my "internet job" on hold for right now because both of my daughters had decided they wanted to be homeschooled, and so I haven't had time to get back into selling on eBay. But I'm still a frequent shopper there. I love old movies. Recently joined Netflix so I can rent classic movies all of the time. My all time favorite classic movie actor is of course the beautiful Cary Grant. Also, Gary Cooper, Jimmy Stewart and Humphrey Bogart. I love frequenting garage sales and flea markets to find those perfect vintage treasures. And where does Marty and the Lovehammers fit into all of this?? Well, they are playing constantly while I'm flying about the house cleaning and doing chores. Discovered Marty on Rockstar INXS of course, and was hopelessly a fan after the first week. The rest is history. My daughters are "very discriminating" in their musical tastes. Don't go for all of that current pop and rap crap. They like the hard rock stations and music. For them to really get into the Lovehammers as I do, says alot!! They listen to old school Green Day, Motley Crue, Nine Inch Nails and all good metal bands...etc. They were soooooooooo dissappointed that they couldn't attend the Lovehammers/INXS conert this time. Since my gig will be at a casino, they are not sllowed to attend. My CD collection of music is too enormous to get into, but my past favorites have included Bryan Adams, Scorpions, ACDC, Def Leppard, REM, Goo Dolls, Bush, Bad Company, etc...oh heck, I think that's enough....We have one pet, our cat named Murphy. Here's a pic. And so, I guess that is me.....

Well...other than updating my numerous blogs and being at school, I spend most of my time drawing, reading, and working on my novels. (I lose my train of thought quickly, so I'm working on about 5 or 6 of them^^ I am also somehow in charge of the domestic needs for four demanding felines by the names of Job(orange-point siamese, 9 years old), Rowan(seal-point siamese, 7), Noah (black shorthair, 6), and Bumble(orange tabby, 4). Other than that, I just work with my theatre company, handle snakes at the local nature education center for a living, and avoid being burned at the stake.

What an interesting bunch of women we are! I love hearing about everyone and it's nice to know that people can get addicted to fan messageboards even if they are intelligent, educated, mature women.
I'm in my 40's (I don't keep track very well lol) and the mom of 2 boys age 6 and 4. My husband is a SAHD and a great father who love to play hockey with the kids and keep them active.
I have a BMath and a Masters of Library Science. I was a horrible librarian - perfection is not my strong point and I'm now working as a Solutions Architect writing specifications for computer programs. Before that, I managed dev. and QA teams in my company.
I love to read mysteries, fantasy, romance and children's books. My fave authors are Dick Francis, Mercedes Lackey and Jude Devereaux. I haven't felt like reading for a while because I'd rather just think bad thoughts about a certain blonde singer from Chicago.
Great to meet you all!
