Kinda off the wall but I have been chuckling about this all day and it is probably not funny but oh well...
I was at the coffee shop this morn getting my tall 1/2 caff, non-fat caffe mocha, no whip when BAM....this woman drives right into the place. She was pulling into a parking space and just never stopped until her car smashed into the cinderblock wall and smashed up the front of her car. Must have stepped on the gas instead of the brake.
Fortunately, no one was hurt. She did throw merchandise all over the store and scare the bigeezers out of everyone there though. After a barista went out to check on her...she was fine, just humiliated...she DROVE AWAY!!! With radiator fluid draining all over the road. Bet she didn't get very far.
And what did one of the customers ask? "Did she even get her cup of coffee?" Nothing like running into a wall in the morning to wake a person up, huh? We were kinda laughing (after we knew she was o.k., of course.). Also makes me feel better about backing into my husband's porsche one morning. ; )

I would have stumbled out of my crumpled car, tossed my hair, adjusted my dishevelled clothing and climbed over the piles of rubble and shocked customers to order my XL single (that's Canadian coffee-speak). I can't function in the AM until I'm caffeinated. (Fortunately, I take a cab to work.) P.S. Happy to hear no one was hurt.

UandM, glad you're ok! This reminds me of when I was in the Kobe, Japan earthquake (10?) years ago. It happened in the middle of the night -- everything flying all over the place (TV down thru the opened drawers, glassses shattering, doors off the hinges) and we all had to walk down 31 flights of stairs to the hotel lobby for a head count. It so happened that two sets of flight attendants were staying at the hotel, too. The ladies from Cathay Pacific all sat down and started putting on their makeup. The United chicks started asking if people wanted tea or coffee. It was bizarre. I just asked for a room on a lower floor so I could get out easier!

Hi Uand Me, ...just picturing that scene in my head. There is no way, I would get behind the steering wheel of a car, unless I had drunk at least two cups of coffee in the morning. ;D

LOL! I'm glad the lady in the car was ok. It makes me feel better about running into the back of my hubby's car at a stoplight! Talk about embarrassing! Hoo ha!

A guy ran in front of my car (he was OK) & of course the first thing the paramedics said when they arrived was "Hello Doc, drumming up business?". Cringe...

UandMe, OMG! Glad to hear no one got hurt. Thanks for posting your story as this also makes me feel better about running my vehicle into the garage on a Friday 2 months ago while pulling it out - and this happened in front of 2 guys at our home to refinish our floors - not too embarrassing! I asked them before they left to make sure they change my name when telling the story to their buddies over the weekend.

Wow....another close call. Once I had my car running in front of my house and decided to get out and wipe off my windshield when all of a sudden it started rolling forward. I was going to be pinned between the garage door and the moving car...so I did the ol' Dukes of Hazard jump-and-roll on top of the hood to get out of the way just in time to see my car continue on into the closed garage door. I remember thinking gee, I hope the neighbor's weren't watching.. I just got back in the car and drove on to work. I'd worry about fixing the door later. I had a small dent in the hood where I landed. Couldn't look at the hood of my car after that without giving a little bit of a chuckle. ...and yes, I'm sure I had coffee...at least two cups. How do you think I could jump that high so fast?
