I lost 10 pounds and a jean size on the Special K cereal diet. I think it took a month or so, it worked but now I have to keep it off and eat like a real person again. It really isn't the healthiest diet. My Mom said I was hateful the whole month and I felt like poop. I have been walking my son to and from school every day and working out with hand weights and the stupid ball thingie trying to get my tummy flat again, that's really hard after 2 kids. If anyone has some good easy tummy exercises I'd be grateful.

Great tummy excercise is to lay flat on the floor and lift your feet 6 inches up. Hold them there and flex your toes toward your head. Hold it each time as long as you can and try to do 10 sets. I usually start with 10 seconds but work your way toward 30. It's better than crunches and actually works better. It also helps the legs and butt.

Ouch! only not as painful as crunches. I hate crunches. And a butt workout as well. Great!

Has anyone tried Taebo? Badass Billy Blanks really gets me motivated. He has an 8-minute workout that's easy to fit in my schedule. I've been trying out a couple of beginner Pilates exercises too... we'll see how that goes. I'm curious to know if anyone has tried any new skin creams, eye serums, etc. that have worked wonders.

I've been trying out a couple of beginner Pilates exercises too... we'll see how that goes. I'm curious to know if anyone has tried any new skin creams, eye serums, etc. that have worked wonders. I've never tried Taebo. I took a kick-boxing class once. My health club has mirrored walls. I couldn't stand how ridiculous I looked making girlie fists. It looked more like b**ch-slapping than kick-boxing. I've never used any miracle face products. I've always been an Ivory girl. If my skin gets dry I use Nivea. I look like my Dad. People in his family tend to age well -- it could be the Nova Scotian sea air or maybe it's that we all have chubby-cheeked baby faces that don't get wrinkly. Anyway, my mother (who doesn't have a baby face) swears by udder cream. She's been buying it from the vet and using it on her skin for 20 years. She's 62 and she looks like she's in her 40s. I don't know if it's the cream or just good genes. She has always taken really good care of herself too -- healthy food, fitness, etc. Anyway, I think they make a commercial version of the cream (for people) that you can buy in drugstores. P.S. On the subject of great exercises -- I was a ballerina when I was younger and I still do plies every day. They're easy and you can do them almost anywhere, anytime. They keep you flexible and are great for tightening (and lifting) your butt. They work out all the muscles in your thighs and hips and make you concentrate on your posture and core stability. You just have to learn the five positions (just google them) and you're all set.

Here are some great ab exercises.
1). Lie on the floor on your back. Raise your legs up at a 90 degree angle. Make SURE your lower back is on the floor. Inhale and lower your legs until you feel your lower back start to leave the floor. Exhale and bring your legs back to the 90 degree angle. This makes sure your abs do the work and does not shift the load to the low back.
2). For the transverse abdominal (the one that holds the tummy in). Lie on your back, knees bent, feet on the floor. Contract abdominal and bring one leg in for two quick pulses. The best way to measure success is to place a cup on your lower abdominal area. If the cup falls off, you are not doing it correctly. Repeat on the other side. Do twenty-five reps on each side. My most proficient clients use my crystal wineglasses for this exercise. So far, no breakage. LOL
3). Modified Pilates roll. Sit on the floor with your knees bent, feet on the floor. Curve your spine, eyes on your knees. Inhaling, roll back as far as you can without lifting your feet from the floor. Exhale back up to starting position. (This is good for beginners).
Hope these are beneficial.

Oh you all, thanks for all the good ab workouts! And Julianah I do the ballet thing too. I danced for about 11 years and still have a long lean body parts but look more like one of those potato plant experiments people put in their windows. You know the potato with the toothpicks in it, long skinny arms and legs fat tummy, potato person that's me. As for skin creams I have one I really like it's by Lancome its Primordiale Optimum and they have a night formula and an eye cream as well. It's nice and has sunscreen that doesn't feel heavy. I just started using the eve stuff about a month ago and can tell that the little "laugh lines" are not as noticeable. I just started seeing those in the last year or so which freaked me out. I thought because I never smiled I wouldn't get laugh lines lol. Living in Florida is hard on the skin

Boring, but true -- drink enough and you'll reduce lines, dark circles, dried skin. etc. Other things do help, but nothing tops H2O and some sleep!

Oh, and don't SMOKE -- it really ages you in so many ways, even cosmetically.

I never remember to drink enough water and as it's 2am here, you can see I definitely am short on the sleep thing too. You just gave me the incentive I needed to work on those two things. Gawd, people around here are so interesting!

Oh rockbeast I did the same thing. I'm still down a jean size but for Christmas day put on an old pair of 8's so I could eat in comfort. Now that's bad. I did get my MP3 player as a gift so now I can run around the block to work it off. Will I? It's doubtful.

I haven't smoked for 10 years now........but junk food......alcohol....and a lack of excercise consistency have been holding me back..........I'm not in bad shape...just out of shape........... You guys are all great in my books.......!!!

If I lived in Orlando, I would drive off to New Smyrna and swim, swim, swim, jog on the beach, go to a water park, I love Florida
