Hi everyone, Just heard on Aussie radio today that it has been confirmed that it will be Rockstar: Van Halen next year. What do you all think about that. I am quite looking forward to it! Cheers, Helen.

Wow! That brings up more questions than answers I guess. Like, is Eddie well and participating in this? Is it a lead singer hunt again? Isn't Van Halen even more out of date than INXS? Is there a hair requirement? What about lycra pants --are they a prerequisite???

That is so funny What super questions! Don't know much more than what I posted, may have to google it and see what comes up. Helen

So when they denied being involved with the show, were they pulling a Simpson-Lachey on us?

This is a potential train wreck that I do believe I will be watching this summer!
At least VH has a boatload of hits that I will remember. Man, I used to love VH back in the early 80's....
I remember when they toured in 1982, a group of us who worked at a local golf/beach resort followed them across three southern states to see all the shows.

you know, I was just in a "hip" boutique and they were playing about the 5th version of Jump that I have heard this year... a jazzy thing. Made me laugh -- but not as much as Paul Anka's swing version. OMG some of those songs -- and videos. Why would anyone want to go there? I'm just picturing David Lee Roth and it's bizzare to think of anyone wanting to step into his stretch pants. At least INXS never made me giggle!
Cindy, I think you're right --it's gonna be possibly painful, but definite must-see TV!

I don't know. It might not be bad. I've seen them several times and grew up on VH. I can't help but wonder what kind of musician they are looking for. Roth was wild. Hager was pop and the guy from Extreme was well......lame.

Teakay, this is where the 80s begin to mean different things to different people, I guess. You were a Van Halen chick -- and I'll bet you had big hair. Me --- it was all British invasion, punk and safety pins in my ears. Looking back, we both needed our heads examined, but at least we ended up here with MC! hey did you ever see The Wedding Singer - the scene with the Van Halen T-shirt is pretty funny!

I dont believe that Van Halen is gonna be on Rock Star INXS. I listen to Sirius radio and for the past 2 months they said Van Halen turned it down and so did Queen. I heard it again just earlier today. Sounds like Rock Star is still looking!

Rockstar Nirvana

Oh my God, that is horrid. You couldn't replace Cobain anyway, because he wrote the lyrics, and no one writes like Kurt.

Kurt Cobain WAS Nirvana. Now that he's gone, there can never again be a Nirvana.
