This is a piece of advice and an nugget of wisdom that passed through my brain <they don't come very often so you might want to take notice LOL> and I posted it on another forum/board... so here goes...

This is just a word of advice to all you young, dumb, and full of cum sons o' bitches out there...

Even though you may not find a useful use of math... just do the shit anyways...

I have myself been limited in my college class choice, career choice, etc. because of the fact that I did not see a useful application at the time... now one of the subjects that I truely find facinating, I am not able to study for the sole reason of not trying to grasp the 'concept' while I was still a young man... physics is an example <ugh! chemistry sux... but maybe I should'a paid more attention to that as well>.

I am sick of people talking down to me... no thats not quite right... rather dumbing down their talk to me in the attempt to maintain the conversation while thinking that I was not able to grasp what they were talking about...

People assume that if you have not done the math to get to where they are, then you must not be of the same creed, breed, etc. The snobery <is that a word?> amongst them and those like them seems to be so that they view people of 'lesser' mentality as unequal...

I can claim to my credit that I passed business calculus and stastistics in the same semester... while doing a 8 week 'conceptual' physics course in 5 weeks with a flyin f**kin A... yet I get people <all over, all types> that treat me as though I'm some subserviant type of human that they need to dumb down their talk to...

To those types... <and sometimes it includes you frickin computer geeks> hey... go f**k yourself...

I took math as far as I could having no interest in high school <business calculus, stats> and programming till I got bored <VB5, C++, COBOL (which was dismal)> and even though you may think of the field that I choose is lesser than the higher calling of the technical science bullshit <which is still intensly interesting despite people that treat me like dung> Give me a f**kin break...

If I ask you WTF you are talkin about... then explain it to me... don't assume I don't know...

Moral of the story... do your math and science shithead so you don't end up 37 yrs old and have people treat you as some sort of dumbass because you were too stoned, drunk, lazy <mentally and physically> do give a damn how you feel when you are older................

very wise drunken ramblings my friend. I wish I had paid more attention in math class too. it just didn't seem relevant at the time...now I have to work harder to make things make sense mathematically.

If someone had told me that trigonometry would make me a better astrologer I might have given it more effort.

If someone had told me how beautiful geometry was, how the universe is all about equations, how math describes the journey of a black hole across the centre of the galaxy, that the rhythms and patterns within nature can be described mathematically, that music and dance are all about pattern and rhythm

fractal numbers, lagardo numbers, prime numbers, fibonacci numbers...

maths is magic...I wish someone had told me sooner!

I have ALWAYS believed that NOONE is better than ANYONE else.........PERIOD.

To me...EVERYONE is equal........

If I were to talk to anyone who deemed themselves successful, a celebrity, a genius, above average....the Pope...whatever and whoever........it should make no difference what position you hold, how much you know, how much you don't know, how much money you have or don't have............

I would speak to them with the respect that I would want returned...and expect to be returned.........I have absolutely no use or will not waste MY time with anyone who feels the need to talk down to me or anyone else..........

I especially do not like those that will say 'Hi!' to you one day in passing and the next day go out of their way to not look at you or acknowledge you after you offer the same greeting again..........that drives me insane!!!

Perhaps that is part of the reason I admire Marty so much.......

I can't picture him talking down to anyone........and that is cool.............
