Hey everyone,
I just want to thank everyone for their support of Lovehammers, I think it is really cool. I have another favor to ask, any help would greatly be appreciated. Recently the band's mechanic Steve was diagnosed with Lymphoma, a form of Cancer. Apparently the cancer was caught in its later stages. Steve went through different treatments without any help, in fact we just learned he is terminal. This really hurts us because Steve is actually younger than me by a few days (32). He is a close friend of mine and married to my girlfriend Nicolette's cousin. He has a little boy and girl as well.
When he found out he was terminal, all he said was that he wanted to take his wife and children to Disney World and have a great time together. I really want to make this happen before Steve is too weak to go. I will be putting up some of my personal Lovehammers items and most will be signed by the band members. Items will range from autographed Ultrasound Cd's to an autographed piece of the guitar Marty broke at Tweeter Center back in October. In the past everyone has been a huge help to this band and myself, I am asking one more time for another favor, please try and help make Steve's wish come true.
Thanks,
Dan
PS Steve is also trying to sell a Suzuki GSX-R if anyone is interested in this motorcycle, email me at lovehammers@comcast.net

Howard, I was just thinking last night about all of the fans and friends of the Hammers who are going thru major health crises -- there are plenty on this site -- and then I saw your note. How awful. Please keep us posted on Steve's progress, pass on our best wishes and prayers to him and his family, and let us know as soon you posted items so that we can continue our Ebay support. XXXOOOO C

This is just too awful, I'm so sorry to hear this. As Chk said, there are some fans here with major health issues. Cancer is a b**ch!! and so indiscriminate. It claimed both my parents. But 32 is too young. I truly hope and pray that Steve gets to take his family to Disney World. Lovehammers fans are good people and although I can't speak for them, I'll be betting they will help in any way possible. Please pass on our thoughts and good wishes. xxx V

Steve is in my thoughts and prayers. Going through chemo myself at this time, I truly hope his dream comes true. Let's help him out any way we can. I know when you hear the word cancer your first thought is your children. Love, Roxanne

bumping this to keep it at top so everyone sees it when they awake and log on in the US. Cindy, Amy, can we copy this to Hammerheads, too, or have a link on the home page for the Ebay items?

Hi,
I think the e-bay idea is great!! Is there another way we can donate to the cause? There will only be a few that will actually win the auction and you'll get their $, but I'm sure others would like to donate as well. Can you start a fund at a local bank? That way people can make deposits directly to the fund. Some may only be able to give a little--but a little will add up quickly.
Our prayers are w/his family. I'm assuming he lives in the Chicago area. If they are in the South Suburbs our church may be able to help provide meals to his family if he has to go to the hospital. You can p.m. me if you want to give me the details.

Howard
This is tragic! And what a touching story. I will for sure participate in your fundraising activities and want to encourage everyone over here to as well. I will sticky this topic near the top so everyone can see it.
Yes I will for sure post the ebay auction banner prominently on the home page of the site. We can also send out an annoucement in the email newsletter which goes out to thousands when the auctions start.

Dan, I feel really sad for Steve and all those that are suffering from some kind of illness. My uncle passed away from cancer a couple of years ago and my mum had womb cancer so in a way I can empathise with Steve's family. I would like to donate via paypal and will figure out how to do this via credit card. Indieband Radio usually provides a link to donate. Is there one for Steve?

Just bumping this for Dan. Go check his ebay auctions....he just added a couple more things.
Also for those not bidding, please try to send some contribution, no matter how small, directly to the paypal account posted. I know that it would be appreciated.

Gaia Just go to paypal.com, sign in and then click on the Send Money tab. On that screen you can enter the email address Dan posted and make a donation. It is really easy. If you don't already have a paypal account, click to create one and it goes really fast.
