That is a heartbreaking situation. Can't the law be brought in on that since it sounds like what the builder is doing is illegal? If you had a construction loan, I would think the lending institution should get involved in tracking down the money and the builder. How much more is there to go on the house?
I hate to hear about stuff like this. It is so disheartening.

House is complete through drywall, so we are praying that we find a builder to help us complete it. The saddest part is that our boys have excitedly watched the progress and are having a hard time understanding what went wrong. I so appreciate the support from the wonderful people on this board-helps me to continue to have faith in the good people in the world. Dawn-thanks for your sweet message as well. Though it is extrememely disheartening, many people have to bear much worse tragedies, so we will keep plugging on.

Hi all- I haven't posted here yet but need to send out a request for lots of prayers for our family. We are in the middle of a really bad real estate crisis. Long story short, we are building a house, and it appears that our builder has been drawing off our construction loan but not paying the contractors....where our money has gone is anyone's guess. We are in need of a lot of prayers...our three boys were so excited to watch the house go up and now it is just sitting there, unfinished. I am sure there is a life lesson to be learned, but at this point it is lost on us. I wanted to reach out to all of the fantastic people on this board to please keep us in your thoughts. On the bright side, we do have the HOB show to look forward to and hope to meet many of you there. Thanks a bunch~ [/IMG]
Lot's of prayers and hugs to all of you... I hope everything works out... this just sucks and I am very sorry that you all have to go through this.

Shelley, I'm glad to hear you've hired a lawyer. It certainly sounds like fraud and theft by that builder, as well as breach of contract. You may have not only a criminal case, but also a civil case, where you could sue for damages and have that builder be required to pay for your lawyer fees, too. I guess if there's a life lesson here for your boys, it's that you can show them how to stand up for yourself when someone wrongs you, and how to overcome adversity. Also, that there are some people who do bad things, but that there are good people to help you when something like that happens. I hope you get this all squared away quickly, so you can be in your new house soon! Hugs!

Thank you both for your thoughts and prayers. Right now it is really hard. We are waiting on the second test results of the previous biopsy. The hospital results showed in was cancer, so the doctor sent the tests to another lab at USC for re testing. It is a lot of waiting... waiting for test results, waiting for authorizations for the use of the specialist again, and waiting for more tests to be scheduled.

[/IMG] [/IMG]
Nancy- You are absolutely right-we most likely have a criminal and civil case against our builder. Also may have to file suit against our title company. The police will be involved as well in investigating possible felony theft charges. Thank you for your words of encouragement and your words of wisdom in the life lessons we can teach our boys. I always find such peace in the kind words of all of you on the message board.
