No worries Dawn {{{Hugs}}}... I thought he would be home too. But, he still needs more time.
They are running a few more tests today and tomorrow. They just need to make sure that he is alright. His body doesn't want to hold anything down when he swallows liquids they are giving him to try. It sucks more than I want to admit... and yet I realize that his body has been through a lot. He had only had his first cancer battle five months prior to this second one. Three major surgeries in a row... it was just whole lot.
I am just grateful to God and Heaven above for allowing my Father to still be present in my life. Healing will come in time. Time that we are all very blessed to know that we still have with him.
My thoughts and prayers go out to all of you that have been so kind to have placed your regard and concerns to my family at all. God bless and keep each and every single one of you safe.
Life is never easy. Roads we plan to travel, are not always paved before us... and we are forced to create them as we go. Have faith in all things pure and trust that your heart shall show you the way.
Blessings...
Steph

Dad Update: They ran the tests and found an infection is still inside my Dad's system. Not the abscess, but an infection. Now they are moving him into an isolation room... *sigh. So, I have no idea when my Dad will be able to come home. I miss him.
Prayers to all those that are in need... regardless of being posted or not, you are loved and being thought of.

Thanks for the update. hugs J~ He has been picking on my Mom a lot just to annoy her... and other than that he has just been sleeping. My Mom says that the infection control doctor and my Dad's specialist couldn't agree today. The infection control doctor wanted my Dad in isolation, and his cancer specialist did not want him in one (he says that the isolation could lead to depression, which is bad if my Dad wants to heal). Both are trying to figure out which way to treat the infection in his body, which was due to the surgery (not the abscess). Then one doctor wants to use different antibiotics and the other says he may need more surgery!? Yup... insanity today in the hospital Anyway, the specialist is making the calls regarding my Father, and wouldn't put him the isolation room. He just wants to see how the antibiotics do over the course of a few days. The specialist also thinks the idea of more surgery is not correct in reaching an effective treatment course for my Dad. So much drama...

Oh Steph - what a nightmare for your dad. Mum has had similar experiences in our hospitals in the past. it's so upsetting for everyone because no-one knows where they are. I hope the antibiotics (or unclebiotics as I call them ) do their stuff real soon. Can I ask that people spare a thought for the people in London today. It's the anniversary of the 7/7 bombings. I know someone who would have lost their life 4 years ago - if they hadn't been on honeymoon. Thank you.

Thank you CF and Dawn. Well, apparently the doctors continued with the battle last night, since my Mom found that my Dad had been moved to an isolation room, when she came to visit him this morning. Thus far, my Dad is alright with it. It's a private room with his own tv to control. No one can touch him without gloves... and any other contact (kisses or hugs) is off limits. But, he says he is alright with the move and is feeling better.

My will say a prayer for those lives lost in that tragic event, and for all the victims families and friends that are still left to mourn still in the memory all these years after.

My Mom is tired but holding up well. She says she feels guilty that I am taking over a lot of the chores around the house alone, and the cooking. I already told her that it wasn't a big deal.
She sometimes forgets how long I lived out on my own before, and then all the responsibilities that I had on me when I was married (since my ex was not physically able). This stuff is a piece of cake compared to that. And it is helping family... why would I complain?
I feel blessed to have a roof over my head. They didn't have to let me or my son move in after I started to go through the divorce, but they did. I am just grateful for that and the fact that they still allow us to live here, since it is still financially hard for me as a single parent without any aid or child support. I won't complain ever about a few simple chores that I would be otherwise if I was living in my own place.
Anyway, she is holding up. Just like I said, tired. Hopefully, the infection does go away quicker now in the isolation room. They moved him into another room down he hall since something wasn't working is his apparently. The same deal, just another room that has everything working.
Mom says that he may come home this weekend. I kinda don't want to get my hope's to high. The let down's suck after you have been-there-done-that, a few times already.
{{{Hugs}}} to all...

Oh... and before I forget. May we please add prayers for one of our LH family members , Celina, that recently was in a bad accident with her mother. She has major injuries and has a long road to recovery ahead of her, as well as her mother. StephieHope ( her best friend and another family member to us all) posted this information on the prayers thread at the LH.com forum.
Also, prayers for one of my absolute dearest friends Travis and his wife Natalie. Natalie's Grandma is in the hospital right now, and they could use all the positive thoughts and prayers that everyone can offer.
Thank you everyone.

Star - your mum is probably worried about you too - and I know with my folks, they seem to forget that I'm not 12 anymore & have lived on my own for some time now. I guess you never forget you're a parent? I hope your dad recovers soon now he's in isolation. I'll keep my hopes high for you so you don't have to risk it again. The name StephieHope rings a bell - did she used to post here? I wish her well & hope her mum recovers soon too. Also to Natalies grandmother.

My Dad is home, and resting in his hospital bed downstairs The nurse comes once a day to give him his antibiotics through his IV line, and to check his vitals. My Mom was trained to flush his feeding tube in his side and to administer his food. Lot's of med's... lost of rest... but, so thankful to God to have my Dad alive and here with us!!!
