Here's a few "Lucy-isms"...
"I'm not THAT OLD to remember what it's like to be THAT YOUNG!"
and
"Out of 365 days a year, we're each entitled to have 1 SPECIAL DAY without aggravation...and that's OUR BIRTHDAY!"
"Love ME...love MY DOGS!" (Not an original, but it's my mantra)

Mine is a longer one today: “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” This quote is often attributed to Nelson Mandela but it is actually by Marianne Williamson from A Return To Love: Reflections on the Principles of A Course in Miracles. I love this quote for when you need to step out and take a risk and that voice in your head says--"Who do you think you are?" It reminds me to go ahead and be bold. Take the risk. I also think this is what I see in Marty--that ability to shine brightly and inspire others to do the same. Wow, I love this one. I need to keep this handy for all the times I feel like I can't do it!

“Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened.” —Ted Geisel (Dr. Seuss)
I'm going through another major life transition (or maybe more) right now -- so these ones help get me through!

"To laugh is to risk being a fool. To weep is to risk appearing sentimental. To reach out to another is to risk involvement. To express feelings is to risk exposing your true self. To place your ideas, your dreams, before the crowd Is to risk their loss. To love is to risk not being loved in return. To live is to risk dying. To hope is to risk despair. To try is to risk failure. The person who risks nothing, Does nothing, Has nothing and is nothing. They may avoid suffering and sorrow, But they simply cannot learn, feel, change, grow, love or live. Risks must be taken because, The greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing. Only a person who risks is free." - Leo Buscalia

Awesome quote My CJ....very nice.... I have 2 for the day: Happiness resides not in posessions and not in gold; the feeling of happiness dwells in the soul. Democritus Happiness is not achieved by the conscious pursuit of happiness; it is generally the by-product of other activities. Aldous Huxley I'm happy today ...Nancy

Your joy is your sorrow unmasked. And how else can it be? The deeper that sorrow carves into your being, the more joy you can contain. Is not the cup that holds your wine the very cup that was burned in the potter's oven? And is not the lute that soothes your spirit the very wood that was hollowed with knives? When you are joyous, look deep into your heart and you shall find it is only that which has given you sorrow that is giving you joy. When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight.
(from the book The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran)

"There are no ski lifts in the world of creativity. You gotta haul your own ass up the slope every time you want to come back down it. It's not so bad, the more you climb up, the stronger you get, and the higher you can go, which makes for better runs."---Fred Gallagher

You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, 'I have lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.' You must do the thing you think you cannot do.
Eleanor Roosevelt
(I love Eleanor Roosevelt I have a ton of her quotes! She was one smart woman!)

This is part of the scripture from my morning devotions. Colossians 3
12Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.

"If the Universe came to an end every time there was some uncertainty about what had happened in it, it would never have got beyond the first picosecond. And many of course don’t. It’s like a human body, you see. A few cuts and bruises here and there don’t hurt it. Not even major surgery if it’s done properly. Paradoxes are just the scar tissue. Time and space heal themselves up around them and people simply remember a version of events which makes as much sense as they require it to make."
--Douglas Adams (Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency)

I know this is more than one, but I just had a desire to do more than just one today....Hope you enjoy If you do not hope, you will not find what is beyond your hopes. St. Clement of Alexandra Seek the lofty by reading, hearing and seeing great work at some moment every day. Thornton Wilder The only way of finding the limits of the possible is by going beyond them into the impossible. Arthur C. Clarke We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, therefore, is not an act but a habit. Aristotle
