I try to share daily w/ Nancy what my devotion is for the day.. I read it online every morning. I'm going to start putting them here, if this offends anyone please let me know and I will go back to sharing them privately. Since I've come back it is more apparent than ever that we all have battles that we are facing. This is the stuff that helps me get through it. I hope it can help someone else too.
The following verses are also a praise song that I have sung often. How awesome it is to know that God allows us to start over.
Psalm 17 10 Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. 11 Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. 12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.

"Lord Jesus, you have the words of everlasting life. Help me to cast aside doubt and fear and to embrace your word with trust and joy. I surrender my life to you. Be the Lord and Captain of my heart, my will, my thoughts and my actions. May there be nothing which keeps me from you and your love."
Psalm 34:2-3,16-22

"I shall pass through this world but once. Any good thing, therefore, that I can do or any kindness I can show to any fellow human being let me do it now. Let me not defer nor neglect it; for I shall not pass this way again."

I'm glad you feel comfortable sharing your daily devotional here DG - and so glad Nancy started this thread - no matter what everyone's different beliefs are we can find something uplifting and positive in what is said!
Grace is within you; Grace is the Self. Grace is not something to be acquired from others. If it's external, it is useless. All that is necessary Is to know its existence in you. You are never out of its operation.
- Ramana Maharshi

It does feel like people are struggling more than usual right now. I know that I am. I don't know what's going on in the world, but I do know that several people that I care about are hurting. It sucks..All I can do is pray and remember scriptures like this prayer from David in Psalms 17. If anyone knew anything about handling struggles it was David. And I wonder why I keep going back to Psalms day after day right now.
6 I call on you, O God, for you will answer me; give ear to me and hear my prayer.
7 Show the wonder of your great love, you who save by your right hand those who take refuge in you from their foes.
8 Keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings
9 from the wicked who assail me, from my mortal enemies who surround me.

No man is happy who does not think himself so. Publilius Syrus I like that one, Nancy. Power of positive thinking.... Here's another.... Today, I seek what is real and lasting in my life. I look beyond appearances and choose what nourishes my soul.

Cecil is really into hymns and he introduced me to several really powerful ones. Here are the lyrics to the first verse of "Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing," one of my new favorites.
Come, Thou Fount of every blessing, Tune my heart to sing Thy grace; Streams of mercy, never ceasing, Call for songs of loudest praise. Teach me some melodious sonnet, Sung by flaming tongues above. Praise the mount! I’m fixed upon it, Mount of Thy redeeming love.

Another song.. How I wish that I could remember this always in the dark times Blessed Be The Name of the Lord by Matt Redman
Every blessing you pour out, I turn back to praise When the darkness closes in, Lord Still I will say... Blessed be the name of the Lord Blessed be your name Blessed be the name of the Lord Blessed be your glorious name
